The 2022 Mississippi State football team handled the Texas A&M Aggies Saturday, 42-24. Here are my early "next morning" thoughts concerning the Bulldogs.

Mike Leach is working with the most talent he’s ever had on the depth chart, and he will be able to find the endzone more and more because of the running game. Every week Rogers gets better and better at finding the guy that’s open. Will Rogers III can toss the football. Look, I know Texas A&M’s offense is not hitting on all cylinders at this point in the season, but the Mississippi State defense was playing to the ball on Saturday afternoon vs. Also known as not letting the sticker on the helmet adjust how the Bulldogs play football that day. These guys can play with anyone in the country as long as their confident they can beat the guy they line up against.

The signs become clearer with every game this season that the 2022 class could very well be Fisher’s last stand at Texas A&M. The Aggies are 3-2 and will no doubt be heavy underdogs in Tuscaloosa next week, with the very real prospect of falling to .500 (3-3) by this time next Saturday. In Fisher’s 5th season as head coach at Texas A&M, this should not be a problem; and yet it is, a big one. What should his plans be for the future of the program after being totally outclassed by Mississippi State in the Aggies’ 1st true road game of the season? Where is the production going to come from in his absence?
