Formula 1 Singapore Livestream: How to Watch the Race Live Today (CNET)

Max Verstappen can technically clinch the F1 title in Singapore. Here's how to watch to watch him try without cable.

Sling TV lacks ABC, which could be a problem for fans hoping to catch the F1 races in North America. As an added bonus, Hulu Plus Live TV comes with the rest of the Disney Bundle, which includes a subscription to Disney Plus, as well as ESPN Plus. [ESPN Plus](https://www.cnet.com/tech/services-and-software/espn-plus-review-a-must-have-for-some-but-not-all-die-hard-fans/), but the service offers a ton of other content for die-hard sports fans. Teams need both strategy and skill to compete against some of the best minds in motorsports. Hulu Plus Live TV is a little more expensive than YouTube TV, but it also offers all the channels you need to watch every second of race weekend. The length of the races also varies, with some, like the Indianapolis 500, lasting 500 laps and taking over three hours to complete. You can catch the entire race weekend with a subscription to YouTube TV. We've broken down everything you need to know in order to stream today's race, and all the other F1 races this season. They all have the same aerodynamic kit and chassis and can only be powered by one of two engines -- either a Honda or a Chevrolet. Each driver needs to use two different tires in the race, so a pit stop is mandatory, though cars are not allowed to refuel. The entire race weekend, including practice sessions and qualifying, will be shown in the US on ESPN's family of television networks. Red Bull also leads Ferrari and Mercedes in the [Constructors' Championship](https://www.formula1.com/en/results.html/2022/team.html).

The results were still unofficial as Perez met with race officials and awaited a decision on any potential penalty. Perez finished more than five seconds ahead of Leclerc, perhaps giving him the cushion he would need as he awaited word from race officials on his potential Safety Car Infringement penalty. On Lap 57, the situation changed for those three. Also coming in were the McLaren drivers, Lando Norris and Daniel Ricciardo, with Ricciardo making the decision to change to soft tires. He was able to quickly recover and pull back out onto the track, having lost just a single position: He was soon locked in a battle to improve his position with AlphaTauri’s Pierre Gasly and Aston Martin’s Vettel. That night, Verstappen was involved in a significant collision with Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Räikköen on the lead lap. Verstappen had a few incidents during the pre-race procedures: Leclerc’s Ferrari teammate Carlos Sainz joined the two on the podium, placing third.

Sergio Pérez won for the second time this season with Charles Leclerc second, Max Verstappen seventh and Lewis Hamilton in ninth.

His tyres were shot and he was forced to pit for new rubber and emerged from fifth place in 14th at the back of the field. Yet the win he required was long gone as his teammate closed out his victory with calm assurance. Hamilton stopped, too, for a new front wing and rubber, and Verstappen followed a lap later. This was Pérez’s first win at the Singapore GP and the fourth of his career. He managed to keep going and rejoined in front of Verstappen in fifth but with a damaged front wing. He had a poor start and then dropped places trying too hard to make up a position in the latter stages, making an error that was even more costly.

[motorsport.com](https://www.motorsport.com/f1/news/hamilton-wont-punish-himself-for-f1-singapore-gp-mistake/10378490/) after the race, “I knew it was all over from then. I think if I was third I would have would have kept with the guys up ahead.” But in the end, he said Sunday was “incredibly messy.” “I had to box again because of the massive [tire] vibrations, put new tires on and came from last back into the points. “To be honest, first of all I think with Red Bull it seems like we have the upper hand in the first few laps and then they seem to… I was pushing until the gap was like 1.5s, but then when I knew it was 5.1s, I just kind of brought the car home, so the pace wasn’t that representative at the end. The Woking-based team has been battling with Alpine for fourth in the championship, and both Esteban Ocon and Fernando Alonso were forced to retire early from Sunday’s race. As expected, the first lap was critical for the lead battle, and Pérez managed to squeeze past Leclerc. A heavy downpour delayed the Singapore Grand Prix, and even when the race was underway an hour after it was originally scheduled for, drivers had difficulty finding the dry line as it slowly resumed.

He was able to continue but dropped to P8 and after pitting to shed flat-spotted tyres for new softs he rejoined in P14. Pérez pitted from the lead and after taking on medium tyres he was able to comfortably rejoin in the lead. After the race the Mexican driver was handed a repirmand and a five-second for falling more than 10 car lengths behind the Safety Car. The Briton was able to carry but fell back between fourth-placed Lando Norris and Verstappen in sixth. In the second decision, the stewards said that the Red Bull driver had ignored a warning from race direction to close the gap and as such was handed the five-second penalty. Behind Vettel, Hamilton finished ninth and the final point on offer went to Pierre Gasly. Following the race he was summoned to the stewards and handed a reprimand and a five-second time penalty for safety car infringements, but with a 7.5s gap to Leclerc, kept his win. Further back Verstappen bogged down at the start and dropped to P12. The Dutchman rose steadily through the order after a poor start but then was forced to battle back from 14th after a late-race lock-up. He was freed on lap 21, however, when Alonso suffered and engine failure and steered his Alpine up an escape road. The Mexican got better traction off the line and powered past Leclerc as they raced towards the first corner. Sergio Pérez passed polesitter Charles Leclerc at the start and resisted race-long pressure from the Ferrari driver to take a hard-earned victory at the Singapore Grand Prix.

"We have made it very clear to the FIA on the past two occasions and it’s just like you have your back against the wall. “A disappointing race as we could’ve scored points here realistically, without dreaming of them,” said Haas team principal Guenther Steiner. Conversely, Aston Martin grabbed a large chunk of points as Lance Stroll raced to sixth, with Sebastian Vettel eighth. Lando Norris, already running fourth, converted that position while Daniel Ricciardo vaulted through the order. Esteban Ocon, running outside of the points after an issue left him languishing down the order in qualifying, also suffered an engine failure that halted his A522. From there he had clumsy contact with Valtteri Bottas and Mick Schumacher, in separate incidents, while a premature switch to slicks further compromised his already wounded race. That required an extra trip to the pits, dropping him to eighth, and his pursuit of seventh backfired when an attempt at Sebastian Vettel merely opened the door for Verstappen. It started, of course, yesterday with the big fuck up in qualifying.” The Dutchman has performed recovery drives in recent events, but this time his Sunday surge backfired. Verstappen was rapid during qualifying on a drying circuit but a misunderstanding on Red Bull’s behalf meant he had insufficient fuel in the RB18. Perez was investigated for Safety Car infractions, namely not keeping within 10 car lengths of the Safety Car, but escaped with a separate reprimand and a five-second time penalty. Sergio Perez had endured a difficult run of form in the build-up to the Singapore weekend but responded in fine form.
