Cleveland Browns vs. Atlanta Falcons: How to watch live for free (10 ... (cleveland.com)

CLEVELAND, Ohio — The Browns will try to improve to 3-1 when they travel to Atlanta on Sunday to face the Falcons. Kickoff is at 1 p.m. Eastern.

I don’t know if that helped out or not but that was good. “I don’t know the health of whoever his passenger was, but yeah, it is kind of crazy. But I heard he had his seatbelt on. Garrett looked dazed on the bodycam video as he sat near the wrecked car, and had to be helped to the ambulance. Stefanski was asked if the trauma of the accident would factor into his decision on whether or not to play Garrett on Sunday. “I wouldn’t be surprised (if he plays),” Johnson said Wednesday. To a man, Garrett’s teammates were also grateful Wednesday that he and his female passenger weren’t seriously injured. I think he should just take it easy man.” Garrett was not at the Browns facility on Wednesday, but coach Kevin Stefanski hasn’t ruled him out for Sunday. But if you asked me, I think he just personally should just sit it out. I wouldn’t be surprised at all if he did, but that’s a tricky situation. Cleveland relied on its running game and timely plays through the air to defeat the rival Steelers, 29-17, in Week 3.

The time has run out on Hubbard to be a serviceable player in this league. Cleveland Browns offensive tackle Chris Hubbard (74) lines up during an NFL football game against the Las Vegas Raiders, Sunday, Nov. While Haeg may be in the plans next year as a swing tackle, there is little reason to burn an active slot for him at this point. After a car crash that kept Garrett out of practice all week long, the Browns have opted to give him the week off to continue to rest and recover. Wills is here to stay, and has put together a great string of games for the Browns. The Browns have a decision of whether or not to pick up his fifth-year option after the season, and it really is not a decision at all. It was not a great showing across the board, but it happens in the NFL. It has been a rough start to the season for Denzel Ward defensively. Not only was he out in front of Chubb’s long run, but the former Alabama football star was moving bodies off of the line of scrimmage all day. It was not head coach Kevin Stefanski’s best in terms of playcalling, and it is hard to stop the run when you are missing three starting defensive linemen and your starting MIKE linebacker.

Grady Jarrett, Dee Alford close out 23-20 victory over Browns at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

They forced a key punt late in the fourth quarter, which gave the Falcons a chance to go win it at the end. That'll wear any defense down, especially when it's on the field all the time, and it can show up later in a game. Quarterback Marcus Mariota was sterling early on, but his efficiency slowed (and quarterback pressure increased) as the game progressed that led to unwelcome stagnancy. Then things went off the rails a bit, with a string of punts that featured multiple three-and-outs. Grady Jarrett got a huge sack on 2nd-and-15, and then Dee Alford sealed the Falcons victory with an interception with roughly 90 seconds left. They couldn't complete a fourth-quarter comeback against the Rams.

'We wanted to score sevens in the red zone': Browns' Kevin ... (Akron Beacon Journal)

The Browns failed to get any points on their opening drive that reached the Falcons' 3. The lack of points came back to haunt them in a 23-20 loss.

I know we come up and say it every week, but we know it was going to be a 60-minute football game. Except that the Browns had put themselves in a position to score seven when Brissett connected with Peoples-Jones on a 42-yard pass to the Falcons 1. “I mean, it's a bunch of plays that we can go through and point at and say this was that, this was that," Brissett said of the Browns' 1-of-3 red-zone efficiency numbers. "And we still had a chance at the end. "I’m always trying to do what’s best for the team, so there’s always opportunities to grow and get better as a coach, as a player, you name it," Stefanski said. It was Bryant's 8-yard catch that left the Browns in a third-and-2 from the Falcons 11. Because it's not just about the offense, it’s about the defense and special teams and in that sense, so hey, they trust us to go for it and we just got to convert it, and we will.” The failed fourth-down try on the opening possession was the only one in three attempts they didn't convert against Atlanta. Stefanski trusted Brissett a lot on the first drive. So there was nothing left to do but sending it helplessly toward the wall behind the right corner of the end zone. Instead of sending out Cade York to kick what would've been a chip-shot field goal to give the Browns an early lead, Stefanski immediately looked down at his play sheet. It came on fourth-and-3 from the Falcons 4 just over four minutes into the game after arguably the most diverse offensive drive the Browns have had this season.

Browns defense feels effects of being without Myles Garrett ... (Akron Beacon Journal)

The Browns defense played without a pair of All-Pro ends in Myles Garrett and Jadeveon Clowney against Atlanta, and the effects were felt.

"Obviously, I was in the game plan this week as far as third-down packages," Thomas said. The next series ended when cornerback Denzel Ward stepped in front of a Mariota pass for an interception, but Atlanta's final three non-kneel-down possessions all resulted in points. It forced the final Atlanta punt of the game, with 10:47 remaining in the third quarter. I got the call and me and Jordan had a twist and I knew my job was go up the field, get inside and basically get Jordan free. The two defensive linemen perfectly executed a twist move that freed Elliott up for the sack. It came to life out there in many instances as far as things we wanted to execute and it came to life just how we practiced it and also film study obviously. We got to get into that film a little bit more knowing we're going to be in more situations, study more guys knowing you're going to get lined up against different guys, just as far as my practice habits and my film study habits going into this game." Within the loss were multiple opportunities in which those young players found themselves making the kind of plays needed to win games. "Setting edges, rushing off the edge, give people third and long, that's when the lights come on for those guys for sure, but also just setting the edge. "I feel like for the most part we were doing our jobs," Elliott said afterward. Coach Kevin Stefanski was not ready to comment after the game about any of the injured players' availability going forward. However, it was the

The Browns would've liked a few plays back in critical moments of the game — which occurred both early and late.

Stefanski called a run play that was stuffed at the line on first down and switched to a pass play on second down, but a holding penalty moved the Browns back another 10 yards. Brissett said he was fine with the Browns staying aggressive on the first drive and throughout the game. The Bengals picked up only their first win of the season Thursday, but still remain in fourth in the division. "We knew it was going to be a 60-minute football game, and we didn't make enough plays down the stretch." But they still remain on even ground with the rest of the division. Brissett had an instant connection with TE David Njoku for gains of 20- and 25-yards, while RB Nick Chubb had gained 11 yards on his first run of the day. Brissett looked for Njoku again, but he had defenders all around him, and the pass never had a chance. Two drives before that, the Browns allowed the Falcons to build a 10-play, 75-yard touchdown drive that contained only run plays. Neither side of the ball had a terrible game. The play was the biggest gain the Falcons had on their drive that led to Younghoe Koo's go-ahead 45-yard field goal with three minutes left. Cleveland started the game with three trips to the red zone the first four times they possessed the ball but only had 10 points to show for it at halftime. Points in those sequences would've paid huge dividends late, and the results were an example of how aggressiveness can come back to bite.

One big breakdown by the Browns defense gave the Atlanta Falcons exactly the opening they needed to pull off a 23-20 victory inside Mercedes-Benz Stadium on ...

A big play in the series was a second-down high snap that Mariota just had to grab and throw away. A Koo field goal gave the Falcons a 3-0 lead. It forced the Falcons to settle for a 30-yard Koo field goal for a 3-0 lead. The Falcons had a second-and-7 from their own 32 when Mariota threw to London on a slant route. Mariota found Pitts on his first throw of the day for a 25-yard gain, while London had a 10-yard catch to put Atlanta in Cleveland territory on its first drive. It was one of three keepers for Brissett in the first half alone. It was a day for Browns defensive backs who were hearing some noise over the first few weeks. The Browns faced a third-and-goal from the Falcons 4, trailing 10-0. That included a fourth-down throwaway by Brissett that gave the ball to Atlanta at its own 4. With an additional 15 yards tacked on after Denzel Ward was flagged for a facemask penalty, the ball moved to the Browns 34. They went 77 yards to get to the Falcons 3. An issue that had gone away for at least one game reappeared for the Browns at a most inopportune time.

By the numbers: 11 key stats from the Falcons' Week 4 win (Falcons Wire)

By the numbers: Falcons rookie Tyler Allgeier racked up 104 all-purpose yards and Caleb Huntley added 56 yards during Sunday's win.

Jacoby Brissett threw for 234 passing yards, while the Browns added 177 rushing yards (403 total). The depth of this group is finally starting to pay off. Not only did he lead the team with 84 rushing yards on 10 attempts, Allgeier finished with over 100 all-purpose yards by adding a 20-yard reception. Allgeier had 84 yards, Caleb Huntley added 56 yards, and Avery Williams chipped in 21 yards. The Falcons ran the ball 35 times, while passing it just 19 times. However, this was partially due to the team’s commitment to the run. As for London, he had a career-low 17 receiving yards on just two catches. Atlanta has allowed just seven sacks after four games and gave up just one on Sunday afternoon. The Browns quarterback threw his only interception of the game following a big sack from Grady Jarrett in the fourth quarter. The Falcons have had a tough time getting sacks since Week 1, and they finished with just one sack during Sunday’s win. That averages out to 5.8 yards per carry for the team. In Atlanta’s two wins, the team has just three combined penalties.

Yet, it was a day on which neither running back seemed to just provide the "wow." All of the talk before the game was about Atlanta's skill players in the passing game. "Back to the basics," linebacker Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah said. That would be the Browns' two running backs. They know that one or two plays is all it takes to flip the results of a game in the league. On Sunday, the cavalry came to help out Cooper. The previous two games was the Amari Cooper Show for Browns receivers. After that, well, the Browns aren't about to start getting that far ahead. "The NFL is a game of margins," defensive tackle Jordan Elliott said. We had opportunities to end the game, but we just didn't do it. Instead of coming home from Georgia celebrating the fast start to which virtually everyone said they needed, they're once again lamenting the way it all went wrong in the end. There's not a far-fetched reality where the Browns are moving forward into the teeth of their schedule at 4-0.

3 Takeaways from Browns' Week Loss vs. Falcons (Bleacher Report)

The Cleveland Browns lost their second game of the season on Sunday, dropping a 23-20 contest to the Atlanta Falcons. The Browns (2-2) remain tied for first ...

It's time for Stefanski to consider giving up offensive play-calling duties in order to do a better job of being the head coach. Garrett was involved in a one-car accident and suffered only mild injuries, but the Browns decided to He failed to emphasize running out the clock late against the Jets, and Chubb's late touchdown in that game gave New York an opportunity. On Sunday' Stefanski's decision to eschew an easy first-quarter field goal came back to bite the Browns. With Clowney and Garrett sidelined, the Browns struggled to pressure or contain Mariota. Mariota converted a 3rd-and-12 on Atlanta's opening field goal drive and delivered a 22-yard strike on the touchdown drive following Njoku's fumble. The Browns might have still been able to win despite their unfavorable offensive game plan had they done a better job defensively. This was not the right game plan against an Atlanta team that also wants to run the ball. The Browns did a great job on the ground against Atlanta, averaging 5.1 yards per carry and racking up 177 total yards. However, that strategy requires nearly flawless football, and the Browns didn't get that on Sunday. This is a game that Cleveland probably should have won, much like their Week 2 outing against the New York Jets. The Browns (2-2) remain tied for first place in the AFC North, but Sunday's loss suggests that Cleveland probably isn't a legitimate contender this year.

NFL winners and losers: Why the Browns absolutely suck (SB Nation)

With 3:35 left in the game the Falcons began their drive at their own nine yard line. After an unproductive run the offense dials up a deep pass, and what ...

This is huge for Philadelphia, and something to watch for the rest of the season. Then you had Russell Wilson moving to the Broncos and the power of the NFL was all coming out of the AFC. The difference between the top team in the NFC (Eagles) and top in the AFC (Jaguars) isn’t even close — with Philadelphia being at a +39.0 on the season to Jacksonville’s +17.3. In the end the teams combined for over 1,000 yards of offense, 93 points, and it was an agent’s dream. What makes this so concerning, aside from the obvious, is that the time immediately following a brain injury are the most critical to take care with a player. If this wasn’t all bad enough, footage showed Brate on the bench squinting, and looking out of each eye one at a time in an effort to gain his bearings. Cleveland should be 4-0 right now, there’s no excuse for them not to be — and yet they’re 2-2, with their next seven games coming against the [Chargers](https://www.boltsfromtheblue.com/), Patriots, Ravens, Bengals, [Dolphins](https://www.thephinsider.com/), Bills and [Buccaneers](https://www.bucsnation.com/). It’s caught 28 yards downfield, and the receiver picks up another 14 in YAC before being tackled, with a facemask from Ward for good measure, just to make sure this hurts even more. The quarterback lofts the ball over the linebackers, who are playing too close to the line — and in front of the secondary, who are a solid 15-yard away Zaccheaus, all concerned with stopping a deep pass. It’s boring, predictable, sad football that reeks of a team just looking to squeak across the line until their presumed franchise QB returns, rather than looking to assert its dominance over lesser competition. It’s far better to use an outside linebacker in that role, who can then drop into coverage if the threat of a run isn’t there. Cleveland finds itself 2-2, which isn’t bad in isolation — until you consider that they’ve had the softest start to the season of any team in the league.
