Ravens vs. Patriots final: Report card, grades (Baltimore Beatdown)

An excellent game today out of Lamar Jackson. He had a poor interception to Jonathan Jones early in the match but finished with five total touchdowns (four ...

The Ravens also lost Justin Houston in this game to a groin injury and are desperately hoping it isn’t even a short-term injury. It doesn’t even feel so much on the cornerbacks than on the play calling and recognition from the defensive coaching staff that DeVante Parker went off today. He’s struggled to contain the edge and has been blown past by running backs. The interception by Josh Bynes brought this to an A. Patriots running back Rhamondre Stevenson averaged 6.1 yards per carry and consistently hit the holes with a full head of steam. The line didn’t appear to generate much in terms of pass rush, either. And, Bateman answered with a 34-yard scamper, shaking Jones out of his cleats along the boundary. It felt as if every big gain on the ground was due to Ricard blowing up a linebacker. The run game was much improved today. Give Devin Duvernay all the credit, he’s been a dominant playmaker each and every week. Ravens fans and coaching staff are praying for left tackle Ronnie Stanley to return next week as they’re now down to their fourth-string left tackle Daniel Faalele, who did not play a snap at left tackle in college. Let’s take a look at the grades following today’s game.

Baltimore Ravens: 3 takeaways from Week 3 win vs. Patriots (ClutchPoints)

The Cleveland Browns are 2-1 alongside the Ravens. The defending AFC Champion Cincinnati Bengals won their first game Sunday, beating the New York Jets. The ...

It is going to be extremely important for the Ravens to eventually develop a run game. The Ravens are likely going to need some semblance of a running game. New England quarterback Mac Jones picked apart the Ravens young secondary for most of the game. Meanwhile, Jackson is having to make up for a beat up defense and a lack of talent at wide receiver. Dobbins is most likely the only running back on the roster who can play that role. The Ravens had been playing without a true starting running back for more than a full season. Hopefully he can shake that off next week against the Buffalo Bills. In Week 2, the Ravens blew a 21-point fourth quarter lead to the Miami Dolphins. Dobbins made his return to the lineup and was expected to play the vast majority of snaps. The Baltimore Ravens are leaving New England with their second win of the season. The Pittsburgh Steelers are the only team in the division that has not looked good at all this year. Neither had been able to get back onto the field until Sunday.
