Seiger: So I did get to work with Camryn Manheim and Jeffrey Donovan for the first time and they’re both so lovely. I think it’s seeing all the crossovers, I mean, to use the word that’s, I guess, been used for years on this. So when I go to actually watch the show, I’m like, “Oh, they decided to use that one, interesting.” I can’t wait to actually sit on my couch on Thursday and get to watch it for three hours instead of just kind of speculating about what everything is gonna look like. Also, seeing the work that the writers put into creating this huge — I know we’re calling it an event because it is an event, I suppose, but really it’s just a lot of work by a lot of people to make this thing that much bigger than usual. Then you go over to SVU and it’s a little bit more shiny, they got more technical stuff going on, then you go over to Organized Crime, it’s like they live in a loft, you know?

[Law & Order: SVU](https://fangirlish.com/2022/05/06/law-order-svu-23x20-review-did-you-believe-in-miracles/) 24×01 “Gimme Shelter – Part Two” did not disappoint on that front. - “You don’t get to come in here and question our tactics. “Gimme Shelter,” in the second half of the first hour and really during this hour, was no exception. Out of everyone in this premiere event, she’s the one with the highest rank, the one people look to for guidance, and orders, and experience. There are probably some complaints to be had here in terms of, you know, this idea that the NYPD is the end all, be all in this sort of situation. And it’s because it’s fiction that we get to actually see this happen in the first place. NBC's three-part Law & Order crossover premiere event continues into SVU with Benson, Stabler and the squad escalating an unusual investigation.

Sirenko throws his hostage to the ground and literally runs into Stabler, who knocks him to the ground. As Benson and Stabler rush off, though, viewers see Sirenko pull into the garage and set a ten-minute timer. Jet to the rescue, though, as she comes in with new info: they have a suspect and location based on the driving patterns of a suspicious van. Sirenko's goon makes a move to whack him and Vince runs away while Benson, Stabler and Cosgrove enter the building. Stabler runs after his boy and hears gunshots as Sirenko runs past him. The camera signal starts to drop as Vince notices the concrete mixer and nervously says the code to be extracted. Sirenko and Vince then head down to the basement floor as Jet worriedly watches Vince's secret camera. The goal is to lead the conversation with Sirenko towards the bomb. Benson notices scratches on the floor and they move a bookcase to find a secret room, horror movie lighting and all. It's time for a little healthy panic and Benson asks the for city to be shut down. Things just leveled up big time: there's now a bomber on the loose with an unknown location and an unknown target. She tells Benson that the morning of the murder, she and Ava were meeting a friend of Sirenko's -- an old man that the squad has only a blurry photo of.
