Through two weeks, the leash on Mitchell Trubisky appears to be getting shorter, and the patience of Steelers receivers, including rookie George Pickens, ...
The Steelers will hope the Browns continue to struggle to get it together defensively. The Steelers have an excellent chance to right the ship While the Steelers have been forced to answer questions about their lagging offense, the Browns have spent the week avoiding assigning blame for their repeated defensive miscues. If I don't, it's cool because you're not going to get the ball every time." If I get the ball, it's cool. "I always have a step on somebody and my step is naturally longer than the other person, and I'm actually fast. The Steelers have heard him loud and clear, with Trubisky "I'd love to get George more involved," Canada said. He believes it's not a matter of failing to execute, but a lack of chances to make a difference, telling reporters this week he was open "90 percent of the time" in Pittsburgh's Week 2 loss to New England. ... But I'm open as soon as I get off the line." I'm always (going to) have a step and always feel like, 99 percent of the time, I'm open even though the ball gets there in the air and (the defender) gets time to catch back up. Pittsburgh has scored 27 offensive points through two games, and Trubisky has tossed two touchdown passes.
Steelers rookie wide receiver George Pickens may never have a better catch than the Odell Beckham-like grab he had vs. the Browns.
to hold onto the ball," broadcaster Kirk Herbstreit said on the Amazon Prime broadcast. The catch looked impossible. "What is impressive to me is the strength in his right hand …
It took until his third game, but George Pickens finally showed the NFL why he was a training-camp sensation for the Steelers.

George Pickens went full acrobat on this incredible one-handed snag on Thursday Night Football.
Seriously, what a catch from Pickens here. On second and three near midfield, Trubisky rolled out of the pocket and spied Pickens downfield in a one-on-one matchup. What followed was probably one of the most athletic plays in football you’ll ever see.
The Cleveland Browns could easily be 3-0 right now had they not had a most improbably collapse on Sunday in the final two minutes of the game. As it is,
Quarterback Mitch Trubisky did target him seven times last night, after acknowledging on Sunday, for the second week in a row, that they needed to get him involved more. For his part, Pickens did have the chance to make another spectacular catch, a 36-yard grab, on the night, but he still only has five catches on the season. After the game, they shared the meme as well, only this time modified to show Pickens staring at the final score, his Steelers in a losing effort.
Steelers fans are not happy with the outcome on Thursday night, but at least we got to witness one of the most impressive catches by an NFL receiver.
With a bit more creative play-calling, Pickens has the upside to develop into one of the most impressive young receivers in the NFL. As a former five-star recruit who broke out as an 18-year-old for the Georgia Bulldogs before declaring for the draft at 20 years old, the sky truly is the limit for what George Pickens can offer the Steelers and the NFL. Sadly, Matt Canada’s offense is seriously lacking in the creativity department, and Pickens has rarely been used on routes over the middle of the field– an area Canada and Mitch Trubisky are apparently allergic to. This catch took the world by storm so quickly that even the NFL’s Twitter account changed its background image to a still shot of George Pickens fully extending for the football on this play. Deep down the sideline, Pickens made a miraculous one-handed catch extending backward with his body completely parallel to the ground. A third straight game of an abysmal offensive showing is hard to stomach.
Pittsburgh Steelers rookie wide receiver George Pickens had three receptions for 39 yards in Thursday's 29-17 loss to the Cleveland Browns.
