Come On, No, Justin Fields Was Not Ripping Chicago Bears Fans (bleachernation.com)

There's a significant wave of hostility making the rounds right now about some comments Chicago Bears quarterback Justin Fields made in his post-game presser ...

There’s not a lot more to it than that. Note what he added at the end of his statement about the fans and the players: “I see the guys in the locker room every day. Tensions are high after last night’s frustrating loss to the Green Bay Packers, and I understand that Chicago Bears fans are ready to snap at the smallest thing. I mean, at the end of the day, they’re not putting in any work.”

But a replay review showed that his knee was down before the ball touched the pylon. Asked if he felt he broke the plane of the goal line, he said: "Yeah." But we thought that was the best play we had at that point to score.

4 Downs: Making sense of the Bears' deflating loss vs. Packers (Chicago Bears Wire)

The Chicago Bears were defeated 27-10 by the Green Bay Packers on Sunday Night Football, dropping them to 1-1 and extending their losing streak against ...

Gordon allowed 10 catches on 13 targets for 162 yards and a touchdown against the Packers. So it was shocking to see him struggle on the ground against the 49ers with just 26 yards on 17 carries (1.5 average). The expectation was Aaron Rodgers would target the young cornerback in this game, and that’s exactly what he did. Justin Fields’ development and cultivating this young roster remain the most important aspects of this 2022 season. But cornerback Kyler Gordon, who played both outside and in the slot, had himself a brutal showing against the Packers. Montgomery had 122 rushing yards on 15 carries for a 8.1 average per carry. Justin Fields threw just 11 passes against the Packers, where he completed seven for 70 yards and an interception. It was difficult to make any judgements about this Bears offense after they played an entire game in a monsoon. They need to clean things up with some good running backs on deck in the coming weeks. There were concerns about the run defense heading into Sunday night’s game, and it was another brutal showing against the Packers. But things quickly went downhill, and things got ugly as the Bears were outscored 24-3 in the final three quarters. While AJ Dillon wasn’t as dominant as Jones, he had a solid outing with 61 yards on 18 carries (3.4 average).

Stock up, stock down from Packers' Week 2 win over Bears (Packers Wire)

RB Aaron Jones: He got 18 touches and Matt LaFleur was actually disappointed he didn't get more. Jones averaged almost 10 yards a touch, created six plays of at ...

Backup outside linebackers: The Packers aren’t showing much trust in backups Jonathan Garvin and Kingsley Enagbare at edge rusher. And he ran just seven total routes, the fewest among the wide receivers with at least 10 snaps. Nijman actually played a terrific overall game against edge rusher Robert Quinn, while Jenkins’ return solidified the right side of the line and made everyone else better, especially in the run game. Lewis played 31 snaps and was a big part of the outside zone run game. TE Marcedes Lewis: Aaron Rodgers wanted the veteran run blocker on the field more in Week 2, and Matt LaFleur made it happen. LB Quay Walker: His speed was big for slowing down Justin Fields’ outside the pocket, and he nearly had an interception in coverage late in the game.

5 Numbers That Tell the Story Of the Packers-Bears Game (Zone Coverage)

The Green Bay Packers bounced back after a Week 1 loss, beating the Chicago Bears 27-10 in their home opener. Although it wasn't perfect, Green Bay's.

While these plays don’t usually happen with Green Bay’s offense, and they didn’t have major implications this week, the Packers need to iron out the communication problems ASAP. [Preston Smith](https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/S/SmitPr00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&utm_source=direct&utm_medium=linker-) showed out on Sunday night, recording five pressures. During the first fumble, Rodgers and Dillon looked like they were on different pages regarding the play call. Last week on The They managed to hang on to it. It didn’t matter how many players the Bears stacked in the box; Jones was easily able to turn the corner on them by using his speed to get outside. With most NFL offenses shifting to a more pass-happy style, with running backs becoming less valued, it is surprising to see the Packers move away from this trend. They were able to hold the Bears to just three points after their first drive of the game. This week it looked like there was a clear emphasis on getting Jones the ball. After another disconcerting Week 1 loss, it seems the Packers have found their rhythm. What is the Bears' all-time record against the Packers? (NBC Sports Chicago)

The Chicago Bears lost another game against the Green Bay Packers, and now fade further back in the rivalry record.

The Bears owned a more favorable 3-1 record over Favre when he played for the Vikings in the twilight of his career. The last time the Bears beat the Packers was in 2018 at Soldier Field. At the time, the Packers held a slim 97-95-6 lead in the rivalry.

Takeaways from Bears' loss to Packers (Chicago Sun-Times)

Bears head coach Matt Eberflus was proud of the Bears' discipline in the season opener, but that seemed to disappear against the Packers.

In a driving rainstorm last week, Bears kicker Cairo Santos missed his last two extra-point attempts—one wide left and the other wide right. The Packers snapped the ball at their own 28 and O’Donnell punted it to the opposite end zone for a touchback. Chicago Bears Week 2 Takeaways: Sunday Night Sadness (On Tap Sports Net)

The Chicago Bears lost an ugly one to the Green Bay Packers on Sunday Night Football. Here are the takeaways from the Week 2 letdown at Lambeau.

Meanwhile, the Bears will focus on rebounding from an embarrassing loss to the Packers. The Chicago Bears head back home to take on the Houston Texans on Sunday, Sept. A controversial play occurred in the fourth quarter that may have robbed the Bears of a touchdown. The Bears were sloppy and committed a plethora of mistakes. But was it the right call? As a unit, they had a difficult time stopping the Packers' offense. They dropped a rough one to the Green Bay Packers by the score of [27-10](https://ontapsportsnet.com/bears/bears-lose-to-the-packers-27-10-on-sunday-night-football). It's okay to say he didn't play well; it's part of the growing pains. The Bears are in a three-way tie with the Packers and Detroit Lions in the NFC North, which could become a four-way tie for first place if the Minnesota Vikings lose on Monday Night Football. He wasn't quick and decisive with his reads and held onto the ball for far too long at a times. The loss itself, especially to Green Bay, isn't the problem. Film study: Why did the Bears run out of shotgun on 4th down? (Chicago Sun-Times)

In Week 1, Bears quarterback Justin Fields showed such awareness that he was able to scramble left, look 30 yards downfield and almost completely across it ...

He waved to Fields to indicate just that — a move the Bears call “mailbox.” Robert Quinn, who jumped at the line, said it was “easier said than done” to keep his feet on the ground. Eberflus calls it “cupping the ball.” Once Gordon was knocked to the ground, he kicked the screen back outside the numbers. “The play hopefully gets six or seven yards at worst,” Eberflus said. When he caught the ball, he had two receivers — Randall Cobb and Allen Lazard — and three offensive linemen between him and the closest Bear. The Bears had five offensive linemen and Kmet. “I saw it afterwards, and I was just like, ‘Dang,’ Fields said after the Bears’ 27-10 loss at Lambeau Field. After Fields fell just short diving to the right pylon, the Bears faced fourth-and-goal. “We did outnumber the point of attack there,” head coach Matt Eberflus said Monday. Unsure OF where he was on the field? Either way, he was flagged, the Bears punted, and the Packers scored again.
