“The White Lotus” is proving to be the hothouse flower of the Emmys.\n\nWith the evening underway for nearly two hours, the HBO limited series had already nabbed awards in every category it was nominated in, including supporting actor and actress, writing and directing.\n\nMike White, creator of the HBO series, comes from an eclectic entertainment background, writing 2003's “School of Rock” but also appearing as a contestant on the reality show “Survivor.” In his acceptance speech for writing, he expressed his love for his work.\n\n“Don’t come for me–don’t vote me off the island, please,” he said.\n\nSo far the show has nine Emmys, including five from the Creative Arts Emmys held last week.\n\nThe blistering social satire, a dramatic comedy set at the fictional White Lotus resort in Hawaii, came into the evening with 20 Emmy nominations, one of the highest tallies for any show.
