Purdue football is in search of its first win of the season, taking on Indiana State on Saturday inside Ross-Ade Stadium.

Purdue converted three Indiana State turnovers into touchdowns as the Boilermakers posted a 56-0 victory Saturday at Ross-Ade Stadium.

Purdue welcomes in-state foe Indiana State to West Lafayette on Saturday afternoon in this college football showdown.

The Sycamores come to Purdue 1-0 on the year after they survived North Alabama in overtime last Thursday. The Boilermakers had two different drives to run out the clock but chose to throw the ball instead of running it and the Nittany Lions took advantage to get the win. The Boilermakers hosted the Nittany Lions last Thursday and looked poised to get the huge first win, but gave up a late touchdown drive to lose 35-31.

As Purdue returns to playing better competition, it must deal with the loss of star defender Jalen Graham.

Graham is nearly irreplaceable based on everything he does and what he means to the defense. Purdue can score more points and the O’Connell to Jones combination is working, which can help the defense. There’s depth on the defensive line to create more pressure and disrupt opposing quarterbacks. Kane forced a fumble on the first play of the game and finished with seven tackles. Graham’s skills can’t be replaced, but somehow the Boilermakers need to make plays during this upcoming stretch without their defensive star. He couldn’t make it to the field Saturday. The senior suffered a tibia impact fracture vs. Penn State and is expected to be out 3-4 weeks.
