Gabby Kicks One Guy Out, Sleeps With Another during 'The ... (Parade Magazine)

“Fantasy Suites” week went very differently for Rachel Recchia and Gabby Windey on Monday night's episode of “The Bachelorette.”.

I’m having a really hard time.” Gabby revealed in confessional that Erich had told her in their fantasy suite that he felt like “I’m cheating and now I feel like we’re rehashing the conversation and I’m being pressured.” That kind of crushes me. She didn’t like Erich “testing” her and questioned if he was the one. The general contractor said she was his future and his mom and dad were “going to have to get on board with that.” Gabby walked away from him to fume to the cameras, “He’s not able to commit.” Gabby said she was ready to get engaged, and Johnny replied, “That’s a hard thing to think about.” The morning after, the two were shown in bed kissing and then Rachel giggled in confessional, “Aven is the full package.” “I am falling in love with you,” Rachel told the sales executive. But knowing her other guys Johnny and Jason were still in the picture was “incredibly painful,” he said. [family](https://parade.com/1045384/marynliles/family-quotes/) is obsessed with you,” he told Gabby as they had met her during the previous hometown episode. “You’re so sweet,” she replied, also telling the cameras she saw a future with the real estate analyst.

'The Bachelorette' Recap: Gabby and Rachel's Men Head to Fantasy ... (Variety)

In the Fantasy Suite episode, Gabby Windey and Rachel Recchia make some decisions.

She felt “tested” and what was once confidence in the relationship was replaced by a fear that her person wasn’t there. Gabby was sympathetic, but bothered by the confession, and revealed they had talked about it privately in the fantasy suite off-camera. What started as a sweet excuse to spend time together turned sour when he expressed that her being with other men “crushed” him. Despite disappointment at Johnny’s departure, she was confident in her relationships with Erich and third finalist Jason Alabaster and their willingness to commit. He sealed his validation with an “I love you,” to which she immediately and enthusiastically reciprocated. During Aven’s hometown, his family loved and embraced Rachel, and he admitted he was falling in love with her.

The Bachelorette's Fantasy Suites Turn Bitter — Will Gabby Go ... (TVLine)

It's fantasy suites week on 'The Bachelorette,' and one of this season's two stars might be leaving brokenhearted — read our recap.

Gabby feels like he’s testing her, and that’s “not something you do to someone that you love.” She starts to spiral, worrying that she might not have anyone when this is all over: “This feels like the end for me.” but then Jason tells her, “I don’t fully feel like I know who you are.” (Hell of a time to bring that up, buddy.) Jesse tells Rachel that Gabby isn’t showing up and she’s now the only Bachelorette, as Gabby sobs: “Am I too broken for anyone to love?” Oof… Rachel and Aven eat dinner together on the beach, and she’s looking forward to having “that intimate time” with him so they can explore “that physical connection.” (Yep, we get it.) She presses him on if he’s really ready to get engaged in two weeks, and he says he is, and she explains how much saying the L-word means to her… She reveals in a confessional she is in love with him but wants to “save it for the right moment.” OK, but don’t wait too long! Erich decides to spoil the mood by telling her that when he pictures her going on other fantasy suite dates, “it kind of crushes me.” Gabby’s face falls, and the mood completely changes. She and Aven head to the fantasy suite as literal and metaphorical fireworks go off, and the next morning, Rachel says she’s “on a different level with him right now.” So Erich and Aven are getting the final roses, right? Erich takes a plunge of his own, upping the ante and telling her: “I am in love with you, Gabby, and I don’t want to leave here without you.” She just sticks to “falling in love” for now, but they both give a quick “yes” to the fantasy suite invite, with Gabby saying she wants them to “feel each other’s love.” In the morning, they’re both giggly, but he admits “it sucks” that she still has two other guys left. So she takes a minute and walks down the beach alone, muttering that she doesn’t want to have to ask him to love her. She comes back and tells him she can’t spend the night with him if he’s not sure about her. Gabby says she and Erich got a lot closer on their hometown date — she met his dad, who is battling cancer — and she’s giddy to see him. They go to a secluded cove and take a “lover’s leap” together into the water. She and Erich have both said they’re “falling in love” with each other (which, on a Bachelor show, apparently means you really like someone, but you’re still into other people)…

The Bachelorette recap: Beach bummer (EW.com)

This week on 'The Bachelorette,' Fantasy Suites get off to a rough start for Gabby in Mexico, while it's smooth sailing for Rachel with Aven and Tino.

"And that's not something you do to someone that you love. "I don't know what you want me to say or if you feel like I need to prove something to you," she tells Erich, adding that she's not about to let him put her in a position where she's defending herself. Once they're back on the beach, Gabby puts the question to him point-blank: "I am at a place in my life where I do feel like, you know, I am ready to be engaged." "Him being like, 'I don't want you to have what we have with somebody else' — well, that's not for you to say," she notes. "They better," she adds, "because I really do see Tino at the end." "I want to be able to say, 'I want to be engaged to him because I know it's him,'" she explains. Though his steed is a little "rambunctious," Tino makes it safely to the watering hole where he and Rachel cozy up on a rock and talk about their feelings. "The full package!" And by "enjoying," I mean "totally ignoring the food and drinking champs instead." "I'm in love with you, Gabby, and I don't want to leave here without you." Gabby says she feels like "the happiest person in the whole world." "I'm hoping that tonight with Erich I can be all the different sides of myself in one breath," she says.

Bachelorette Gabby Windey Worries 'My Person Might Not Be Here ... (PEOPLE.com)

Bachelorettes Rachel Recchia and Gabby Windey had two very different experiences during the first part of Fantasy Suites.

"You're exactly the person that I want to fall in love with and just be my person forever," Johnny said. "I do have one thing I want to tell you," he said. "I feel so frustrated right now," she told the cameras. "I love you too," Rachel replied before they headed to the Fantasy Suite. "I love you, Rachel," he said. "I don't feel like my dad gets me as much in the relationship sphere," Tino said. I think last week that was really just kind of the deciding factor for me of knowing how ready I am." Erich said "obviously, yes" to staying in the Fantasy Suite with Gabby. "I think I'm definitely falling in love with him, but I don't actually know how he feels about me," the ICU nurse said. "I am definitely more than falling in love with Erich," she confessed in an on-camera interview. "You're so sweet, I really do see a future with you," she said. "I have been so scared to be honest with them because of how he made me feel in that moment."

"The Bachelorette" can't even deliver on its own version of feminism (Mother Jones)

The trend away from progress continues with the current season of The Bachelorette. After contestants Gabby Windey and Rachel Recchia had their hearts broken by ...

The franchise, to Luckett, is an “updated version of the conventional heteronormative ideal,” in which the men have the power and assume that the women will be on the show solely to pursue them. Of course, The Bachelorette is not the beginning or the end of the problem of misogyny in the entertainment world, but rather a reflection of larger issues. The following season, Yosef Aborady told bachelorette Clare Crawley that he was “ashamed to be associated” with her and that she was “not fit to be a mother” to his child. “I do think the thing that’s been hardest to watch is the way that they sort of take advantage of these moments to create emotional public situations for the women to be rejected in and to cry and to feel not enough,” Fallon says. Many viewers were troubled by the behavior of two contestants who bullied one woman for cheating on her partner—even as they celebrated him for doing the same thing. This season, in its attempt to be historic with two leads, has largely stripped the women of most of the power they might have had. But on The Bachelorette, it’s usually a man who has said something “deranged” and “misogynistic” to the lead, says Gray of the Love to See It podcast. 2021 seemed to herald some progress for the franchise; the year brought its first Black bachelor and first two Black couples to get engaged. It’s a format in which heterosexual marriage is prized as the ultimate goal, and unsurprisingly, the franchise has attracted plenty of criticism for its long history of misogyny and racism. But when the cameras actually start rolling for each season, the lead of The Bachelorette faces derision, humiliation, and disrespect from her contestants and the producers. Its gender-swapped spinoff, The Bachelorette, features a couple dozen men vying for the hand of one woman, who eliminates them one by one until she’s chosen a man whose proposal she’ll accept in the season finale. Another plays audio of the season’s bachelorette saying, “ [I know what I deserve.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-U860e-01VU)” The promos are the perfect encapsulation of girlboss feminism, pulling in viewers with the suggestion that the show’s lead is an empowered woman in control of her own love life.

Johnny Eliminated On 'The Bachelorette' By Gabby (Hollywood Life)

Johnny DePhillipo was eliminated by Gabby Windey on his fantasy suite date on 'The Bachelorette.'

“You are exaclty the person that I would want to fall in love with and be my person forever, but I just don’t know if I can get to an engagement in the next week or so. I don’t know if I can bring 100 percent to the table and commit to that end result.” So where do I stand on that is such a hard thing to decide.” “That’s a hard thing to think about,” he admitted. The Bachelorette Season 19, Episode 9 recap: Fantasy Suites (Accept This Rose)

We have hit the beginning of the end of Rachel and Gabby's journies to find love on The Bachelorette Season 19. Fantasy Suites are upon us!

After her upsetting date with Johnny, Gabby retired to her room and received a mysterious note asking her to meet her on the bridge. Jesse asked if he would be able to propose in the end but Jason said it would be hard to get to the point of engagement in a week. He wanted to touch base with Gabby after her second date and express his jealousy and feelings right now, knowing that she could be having the same experience with other men. He went on to say that she has made the process easy and that he has approached this in the right mental state and would be ready for that in the end if he found the right person. [Johnny](https://abc.com/shows/the-bachelorette/cast/johnny-2022) said that Gabby is his person and has all the traits he’s looking for in a woman. During his speech he told Rachel he loves her and she returned the favor. These two lovebirds met on the beach and took a sailboat cruise in the ocean. Gabby said she felt bad for leaving Erich but felt that she had more to work on with herself and the other men here. The couple departed with Rachel reiterating that she is falling in love with Aven. Erich told Gabby how hard it was for him to leave her after his hometown date, and they revealed that he was in love with Gabby. He was very emotional about leaving Gabby in the morning, and she did her best to reassure him that the process had been there herself. Gabby and Rachel touched base in Mexico to start this week’s first episode of The Bachelorette Season 19.

The 'Bachelorette' Recap: Vomit-Inducing Fantasy Suites, Part 1 (The Ringer)

Season 19 has been a sprint to the finish line, so maybe it's not all that surprising that the thought of getting engaged in the near future is downright ...

Gabby is sad, because she really saw something with Johnny, but at least she still has Jason—whom the editors show chatting with Jesse about how he’s definitely not ready to ask Gabby to marry him yet—and Erich, who is fully in love with Gabby and totally not going to ruin it. Tino should always be talking to Rachel and never be talking to the camera. He says he knows that he and Rachel should talk about it, but it’s kind of like he thinks that if he just ignores it the whole problem will magically disappear on its own. And yet, Erich has shaped up his mullet for the occasion and Johnny has just learned that people usually get engaged at the end of this show, so the only way to go is forward. Both Rachel and Gabby talk a lot this episode about how hurt they were during their last Fantasy Suite experience—y’know, when Clayton told them each he loved them only to turn around and show how little value he placed on such a sentiment by attempting to break up with them in tandem immediately afterward? I mean, a guy made it to Hometowns without ever going on a one-on-one date, and without the audience ever learning more about his job as a carnie entrepreneur.

After her altogether positive date with him, he summoned her to a bridge with a date card — clearly the work of producers — to impress on her once again that he’s not comfortable with the idea of her being with the other guys. But now, Gabby gets to feel bad about how much Erich likes her instead of being happy that the person she likes the most wants to make a lifelong commitment to her. Her connection with her front-runner, Erich (a 29-year-old real-estate analyst from New Jersey), is strong, but he made it clear that he is not comfortable with her sleeping with the other guys. Aven is not and has never been a front-runner, but Rachel brought him to the Fantasy Suite anyway and let the cameras catch them cuddling in bed the next morning. This seems like a done deal, though I’m sure the producers will try to make Tino as jealous as possible when Rachel embarks on her third Fantasy Suite date with Zach on tonight’s episode.
