At first, Nina and Bunny seemed like the perfect mentee and mentor. Hopefully, we will find out in Season 3 just who Charles was referring to. Who "her" is was not revealed. A time jump at the end of Season 2 saw Mabel, Charles, and Oliver living their best lives. Blood was seen dripping from his mouth and Charles screamed out: "He's not breathing!" The pair did not see eye to eye, with Ben complaining to Oliver about his co-star.

'Only Murders in the Building' Co-Creator About Revealing ... (Variety)

Season 2 sees true crime enthusiasts-turned-podcasters Charles (Steve Martin), Oliver (Martin Short) and Mabel (Selena Gomez) investigate the murder of Bunny ...

There’s a wink to all of that, like “The Hardy Boys,” that we introduced right at the beginning. It’s a bonding force for this trio, that they’ve stepped into the cottage industry of podcasting. There’s something about certain lives that are led — people who tend to go into risky relationships or who aren’t afraid to dance on the edge a little bit in their lives. But I love Tina Fey so much as Cinda Canning, and the evolving presence of Cinda in the show really intrigues me. Will Cinda remain a large part of the narrative? In Season 3, we’re obviously making a leap into the theater, and around Oliver being a little bit more central in the emotional arc. And there’s the other side of that, the Rose Cooper story. But it makes sense for the character in that moment. How close to the bone is this?” And then hiding that little bit. Poppy was in a small handful of characters I thought could be the culprit. Treated horribly by Cinda but desperate to follow in her footsteps, Poppy realizes that Bunny owns a painting by the renowned and reclusive artist Rose Cooper (Shirley MacLaine) and stabs her in order to design a new podcast about the art theft and murder — while framing someone else, of course. And the next sphere of entertainment the show will tackle is Broadway: Season 2 ends with a time jump, where Oliver directs Charles and Ben Glenroy (surprise guest star Paul Rudd) in a Broadway play, before Ben drops dead onstage.

The pair often reference “her,” for example when Charles-Haden tells Ben to “stay away from her.” We need to have time with him; would he come back and play with us in Season 3? 'Only Murders In The Building' Boss On Unmasking A Killer In The ... (Deadline)

So we have a room full of them in the midst of all of this and to make this setup that feels traditionally Agatha Christie, very deeply whodunit, we then throw twists that are truly insane in there. Now she’s a woman with a new purpose who is stronger and even goes on to solve the case. For the character, I think there was so much to do with Mabel—as she says in the finale, ‘Any year without murder is a good one for me’—that we really looked toward giving her a brighter beginning. For both those characters, the shock of Bunny’s death for Oscar and his father working in the building, just felt like it was really hard for him to stay at the Arconia. We made a call that we didn’t want to see Mabel develop a relationship where the trauma bond is strong. Trying to advance herself further by taking the lessons she learned, she stepped into it in Season 2 and everything got out of control so she tried to throw Cinda under the bus. Selena, Steve, and Marty were brilliant, and then we have this collective of all of the people in the Arconia and those New York actors that we love like Jackie Hoffman, Michael Creighton, Jason Veasey, Teddy Coluca, Vanessa Aspillaga, all of these people that we love and are fantastic. She moved to New York and approached her idol with a unique idea for a new podcast about a young woman in Oklahoma who disappeared to be called, All Is Not OK in Oklahoma. Yes, Ben is the new murder victim and the mystery to unravel in Season 3. Charles-Hayden is first on stage to help Ben and will no doubt be looked at as a suspect. Oliver is seconds away from premiering his dream show on Broadway, Charles-Hayden is co-starring, and Mabel is in the audience with Charles-Hayden’s new girlfriend Joy ( Poppy is Cinda Canning’s (Tina Fey) assistant who was behind much of Cinda’s success as a true-crime podcaster.

Only Murders in the Building season 3: what we know so far (What's On TV)

Our favorite podcast team has done it again, as the mystery of who killed Bunny has been solved. But there's no rest for Charles (Steve Martin), ...

Maisel, Saturday Night Live, Only Murders in the Building and is always up for a Seinfeld rerun. It’ll be the same when season 3 arrives. But there’s no rest for Charles (Steve Martin), Mabel (Selena Gomez) and Oliver (Martin Short), as Only Murders in the Building season 3 is on the way with an all-new murder to solve. Charles and Ben Glenroy clearly had a lot of animosity toward each other — Charles basically threatens him in the final moments of season 2. This could be someone entirely new that we meet in season 3, but people that Charles would likely be protective of could include Mabel, Lucy or Joy. It wouldn’t be Only Murders in the Building without Selena Gomez, Steve Martin and Martin Short leading the way as our favorite amateur sleuths/podcasters Mabel, Charles and Oliver. Only Murders in the Building season 2 was about proving who killed Bunny and stopping our main podcast team from being framed. There is also a good chance that Da’Vine Joy Randolph’s Detective Williams returns as she remains a key ally for the Only Murders podcast team. There was about an eight month gap between the end of Only Murders season 1 and season 2. After seeing his character die on stage, we seem set to learn more about Glenroy before his death and his relationship with the main trio. That is still TBD, but with the early announcement and the cliffhanger ending of season 2, the wheels are already very much in motion. Shortly after that, Oliver gets a call and is offered a directing job for a Broadway show that opens in a year.

Only Murders In The Building Season 2 Ending Explained: Who ... (Cinema Blend)

The hit Hulu series just wrapped another twisty and fun rollout and there's a lot to unpack here. Who killed Bunny Folger? And what Season 3 teasers did the ...

[Rudd would be part of Season 3](https://www.cinemablend.com/streaming-news/paul-rudd-set-to-clash-with-steve-martin-in-only-murders-in-the-building-season-3-after-twisty-finale), no doubt as we come to know what’s gone on for the Only Murders characters within the past year and who exactly Ben Glenroy is. With the reveal of Bunny’s real killer, we learn that Poppy had ideas to do a podcast on Rose Cooper (Shirley McLaine), but Cinda declined, and Bunny also refused to sell the painting to Poppy in a meeting at the Pickle Diner. Poppy plants the murder weapon in Charles’ apartment, but her allergies to birds (Charles’ niece, Lucy, noticed sneezing in the tunnels the night of the murder) ends up damning her and leading the podcasters to her. After meeting Mabel, Charles, and Oliver however, genius strikes (in her book) and she comes up with a plan to frame the Only Murders protagonists for murder by killing Bunny and hiding in the Arconia’s secret passageways. With those dots all connected, Mabel realizes that Bunny’s last words were not “14, Savage,” it was “14 sandwich.” The #14 is a sandwich order at the Pickle Diner consisting of Liverwurst & Marmalade, that they all see Poppy order. [joined the cast this season](https://www.cinemablend.com/streaming-news/9-new-only-murders-in-the-building-season-2-cast-members-and-where-youve-seen-them). In the Season 2 finale of Only Murders, we learn that the true killer behind Bunny’s death is Adina Verson’s Poppy White, the assistant to fellow true crime podcaster, Cinda Canning (Tina Fey). It’s time to break down everything that happened during the Only Murders in The Building Season 2 ending and what it means going forward. After living a miserable live in rural Oklahoma and being a big fan of Cinda’s podcast, she reached out to Cinda to help her with the podcast by faking the incident, however she has since became stuck in an intern role instead of rising to glory. Throughout Season 2, Mabel, Steve Martin’s Charles, and Martin Short’s Oliver have been rolling out a new edition of their mystery podcast, along with trying to figure out how to clear their names of being framed for Bunny’s death. The fictional Only Murders In The Building podcast has completed its second mystery and so has the TV show starring Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez. The hit Hulu series just wrapped another twisty and fun rollout and there’s a lot to unpack here.

Interestingly enough, we learned that Steve's character Charles plays the second lead on that show and the two on-screen actors actually don't get along, a fact that comes to mind when we learn about Ben’s murder. The motive for Bunny's murder also becomes clear after the finale: Cinda was looking for another high-profile case to dissect on her podcast and, in an effort to help her, Poppy decided to commit the crime herself. In fact, as folks realized after episode 9 of season 2 aired, Poppy's real name was Becky Butler, the subject of Cinda's podcast All is Not OK in Oklahoma.
