For starters, Brennan was apparently buried on the depth chart. He entered the transfer portal for a period in November, but ultimately returned to campus after the coaching change from Orgeron to Kelly. I am forever grateful for every opportunity I've been given, every obstacle I've overcome, and every second I've been a Tiger. However, after five seasons, it is time for me to start a new chapter in my life. “Myles has always embodied the traits required to fulfill our mission to graduate champions, and we have full confidence those traits will help him succeed at every step in his journey as he moves forward.” In 2021, an off-the-field arm injury cost him another opportunity at starting; the injury occurred just two days before the start of training camp. I will never forget my time in Baton Rouge. I love LSU and all our fans. I will never forget the time I've spent and the memories I have made here. It's unclear why Brennan, a one-time LSU starter whose opportunities were robbed by injuries, decided to step away from the game in its entirety.

It wouldn’t be shocking if NIL contracts failed to account for the mental health of an athlete — that’s essentially what revenue college sports have been doing for the past 40 years. “In some cases, the contracts are not specific on whether or not the athlete has to be an active player.” But in the total mess that has come to define the NIL landscape, he actually may be able to keep these deals despite no longer being on the football team.
