Based on the trailers, Black Adam looks like a fairly dark film, with the title character serving as this extremely grim avenger of wrongs — which stands in very stark contrast to the first Shazam! movie, which was a sweet coming-of-age story with a lighthearted DC comic hero (played by Zachary Levi) in the lead role. The first season of the platform-based brawler MultiVersus will add two new characters in the coming weeks.

The DC Universe anti-hero Black Adam and Stripe from Gremlins will be added to MultiVersus in the coming weeks as part of the Season 1 content roadmap. MultiVersus' first season kicked off on Monday, August 15, and now we know the two new fighters will be making their way to the game. Player First Games' MultiVersus is rife with different characters from the Warner Bros. Discovery catalog.

Black Adam should act as a foil to Superman, which could mean that we shouldn’t expect the inclusion of Billy Batson aka Shazam in MultiVersus, or at least not soon. The character’s appearance in this image is completely surprising, especially since neither publisher Warner Bros. or developer Player First Games teased or announced the inclusion of either Black Adam or Stripes in MultiVersus. The only upcoming characters we’re aware of are Rick and Morty, who are coming out at the Season 1 launch. Both characters, we assume, are headed to MultiVersus sometime in the future, although their release schedule is currently unclear.

Black Adam is about to make his big screen debut in the upcoming solo film starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson as the titular DC antihero.

Player First Games has not hinted at or commented on these two characters, as it is still focused on launching Season 1 along with Rick and Morty. Black Adam and Stripe were also not in the alleged roster leak that had Rick, Morty, and LeBron James in addition to a ton of unconfirmed characters. The picture is a bit low res and hard to make out, but it’s clearly showing Black Adam and Stripe. However, Twitter user Rezztro (as shared by InTheShadeMV) found a higher resolution image that more clearly shows the pair.

Stripe is the most famous Gremlin outside of Gizmo. He’s the main antagonist from the original 1984 movie Gremlins but is also featured in the 1990 sequel. Not only can players look forward to the Rick and Morty characters, but they can expect to see Black Adam and Stripe return during Season 1 as well. According to said tweets, there was a new graphic for MultiVersus that put Black Adam and Stripe front and center amid a number of other characters that are already in the game. Rick and Morty have already been confirmed, but if a certain leak is to be believed, Black Adam and Stripe from the Gremlins films may be next in line to come to the game. Rick, also of Rick and Morty fame, is also planned to join the roster sometime during Season One, but so far no release date has been set for any of the expected characters. Black Adam's presence in Season One makes a lot of sense considering the film of the character starring a certain mineral oriented, former pro-wrestler is out this October. Stripe's presence is the more odd of the two, but Warner Bros. has a huge wealth of IP to pull from, so honestly anyone is game.
