The 2022 Hard Knocks season kicks off tonight on HBO; here's how to watch episode 1 of the Detroit Lions' preseason adventure.

While Goff’s performance may be under a microscope this year, the 2022 Hard Knocks season should provide a deeper glimpse into the young group of offensive playmakers the Lions have at their disposal. The 2022 season of Hard Knocks begins Tuesday night on HBO. The show will follow the Lions throughout the preseason. While 31 NFL teams prepare for the regular season with standard fanfare, since 2001, the HBO series “Hard Knocks” documents one team’s journey through the preseason and training camp.

- Episode 1: Tuesday, Aug. 9 Interestingly enough, this will be quarterback Jared Goff’s third time appearing on Hard Knocks as he was featured with the Los Angeles Rams in 2016 and 2020. On Tuesday night, the world will meet Dan Campbell and the 2022 Detroit Lions. The team will be featured in this year’s “ Hard Knocks” TV show, a documentary series on the life of an NFL training camp. While that will undoubtedly happen throughout the five-episode series, the Hard Knocks crew has intimated that they’re interested in showing a little depth to his character, too. The first episode of the show will air on Tuesday, August 9 at 10 p.m. ET on HBO. For those of you who have cut the cord, but still subscribe to HBO Max, the episode is expected to be posted on the streaming service at the time it debuts—right around 10 p.m. ET.

The first episode of HBO's Hard Knocks is in the books. Detroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell and his ceaseless energy highlighted this season's premiere.

Why are we going live'” Campbell said. “You stopped a screen? “Now you’re a ref?!” The Lions’ 3-13 record belied the fact they were a tough out week after week and continued to play hard for Campbell throughout the season. At one point in the episode, he and defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn completed 40 up-downs alongside the entire club, a feat Campbell wasn’t sure he could accomplish due to an injured wrist. “…The studies say you gotta get volume and you gotta get intensity before a season comes. “We’ll play you on grass. “We’ll play you anywhere,” Campbell told his players. “Don’t be late,” Campbell said.

This is part of the competition the Lions preach under Campbell. There was trash talk between Duce and Aaron, but there's all love between the two rising coordinators. Anyone who farts: Duce Staley says "it's a serious fine if you bust your ass" in the meeting room. Quarterbacks coach Mark Brunell also thought they looked funny, a different aspect of the game from when he played. Jamaal Williams: "Think of that f---in record!" The guardian cap: Lions defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn said they look funny, but he understood the reason behind it. The Lions defensive players in up-downs: Nothing can inspire a player more than seeing the head coach of a football team do up-downs with his team. Even though Campbell is a former NFL tight end, he's still 46 years old and was doing up-downs as well as any of his players. Hutchinson's singing wasn't great either, even if he was feeling the flow of his teammates.
