As it turns out, neither will happen to the passer. If he wins a third straight MVP, then we'll know why. Some have been curious as to whether or not Rodgers would be slapped on the wrist or slapped with a suspension due to his use.

The NFL says Aaron Rodgers will not face any penalties for a series of ayahuasca trips he took in the 2020 and 2022 offseasons.

“People should pursue using ayahuasca with great care and do thorough research to find reputable retreat centres,” Alli Feduccia of the Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies told the Guardian in 2017. Rodgers has been named NFL MVP for the last two seasons. In doing that, allowing me to understand how to unconditionally love other people but first realizing it’s gotta start with myself. The Green Bay Packers quarterback took the hallucinogen during two separate retreats in Peru. Many ayahuasca users say the drug helps with personal insight and growth. “We sat three different nights with the medicine. A lot of healing went on.”

The star quarterback also does not have to worry about getting in hot water with the NFL for his ayahuasca use. When you figure out a better way to love yourself, I think you can love people better because you’re not casting the same judgment you cast on yourself on other people. He then returned with a different group of people earlier this year and said he experienced a change in himself.

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers didn't violate the NFL's drug policy by consuming ayahuasca, so he will face no repercussions from the league.

Players are still tested for drugs like cocaine, amphetamine, opiates, opioids, PCP and MDMA. The NFL’s random drug test screening window lasts from April 20 to Aug. 9. The policy may change, but as of now, other players could do what Rodgers did without repercussions. Head coach Matt LaFleur wasn’t concerned about league punishment, either.

I came in with an intention of doing a lot of healing of other relationships and bringing in certain people to have conversations with. But in recent years, the league has relaxed its drug policy. So we put together a trip to Peru [in 2020] and had a great experience. “I have a dear friend that I’ve known for 25 years that went on an ayahuasca journey in 2019. In each of those seasons, Rodgers was named the league’s most valuable player, his third and fourth time winning the award respectively. And I did.
