Jamahal Hill stopped Thiago Santos via TKO at 2:31 of the fourth round in the main event of Saturday's UFC Fight Night.

Hill was just the second event in modern UFC history with at least 10 fights and 100% finishes, per ESPN Stats & Information. The other was UFC Fight Night: Rockhold vs. Hill, 31, is 5-1 (1 NC) in the UFC with four KO/TKOs -- tied for the most in the UFC light heavyweight division since 2020. "I expected him to come in and shoot [for takedowns]," Hill said. Hill took advantage by pressuring him in the fourth and landing big combinations on the feet. He had success with takedowns in the third round, but by the fourth, he was visibly tired. Santos came out looking for takedowns from the beginning, even though he is a decorated striker with 11 UFC knockouts, tied for the fourth most in promotion history.

Santos moves to the fence, and Hill is pounding away with elbows. Kicks from Saantos, and Hill pops him with a shot on the way out, Santos is hurt, and a knee clips him. Hill knees the head and gets tripped to the mat. Santos works to flatten Hill out and takes the back as Hill stands. Hill fights the takedown with a whizzer, and Santos settles for the clinch. Knees to the leg from Santos, and Hill turns. Santos swinging wild, and Hill hurts him with a right hook. Hill sprawls and secures control of the leg, and Santos stalls out. Hill contacts the cup with a knee, and they break. Santos goes high with the leg, and Hill smiles again. Hill pops right up, and we’re back where we were in the first, with Santos trying to put his man back on the canvas. Hill back on the advance and tests his left.

Things got a bit wild at times at UFC on ESPN 40, but Jamahal Hill once again had his hand raised when the smoke cleared.

As for Santos, his woes to win continue. Hill extends his winning streak to three with the victory. In a wild exchange, Hill toppled Santos who covered up and attempted to survive. He only controlled Hill on the canvas briefly, before a scramble led to both men on the feet again. The first round was methodical and measured by Santos. He utilized kicks of all levels to chip away at the mobility and aggression of Hill, who is usually a strong starter. Cardio seemed to be the biggest issue, more so of the damage from Hill, who looked fresh despite the hard punches thrown and landed by both men.
