The Arizona Cardinals wide receiver was arrested Wednesday morning in Phoenix on a charge of criminal speeding.

In comments Thursday to reporters at Cardinals camp, Coach Kliff Kingsbury said Brown had been pulled over while heading from his residence to the stadium. County records showed Brown is accused of traveling at over 85 mph on a section of highway in north Phoenix where the posted speed limit is 65. In Arizona, a criminal speeding charge can be brought if someone is accused of exceeding the speed limit by more than 20 mph.

Arizona Department of Public Safety spokesman Bart Graves confirmed that Brown was arrested at 7:05 a.m. on State Route 101, which surrounds three-quarters of the Phoenix Metro area.
