Competing in the first singles match of his career, social media megastar Logan Paul defeated The Miz at WWE SummerSlam on Saturday.

Paul, whose appearance at the premium live event is only his second as a WWE wrestler, made the Miz pay with a move to remember.
Some wrestling fans were dubious of Logan Paul heading into WWE SummerSlam but his match with The Miz made just about everyone a fan.
This might’ve sounded crazy to say not long ago, but Paul quite obviously has a bright future in this business and is just getting started. He is a natural heel given his public image and his ability to be smarmy, but it was hard not to root for him on Saturday night. At SummerSlam, Paul put on an absolute show.

He showed athleticism, strong slams, a knack for flying off the ropes, and was able to sell a lot of the shots that The Miz was throwing his way.

Though, in true pro wrestling style, his tag team partner turned his back on Logan and started a heated rivalry. Logan has signed a multi-year deal with the WWE, so he’ll likely be back in the ring before long. He knows how to milk a moment, which is so important in wrestling, and his athleticism is off the freaking charts. Logan Paul obviously deserves a ton of credit from fans and rightfully so, but a huge shoutout here also needs to go to The Miz. The longtime WWE veteran has become the go-to guy to work with celebrities, and he always makes everyone look like a million bucks. He leaned into being a heel, which is a character fans are meant to root against, and WWE signed him to a long-term contract.

It’s gotten to the point where if he were to cash in that briefcase right now and steal the WWE Universal championship away from a compromised Roman Reigns, the title would immediately lose a lot of its value being in the hands of this mid-card dweeb. The YouTube star wowed the audience with his tremendous performance in the match, highlighted by an insane frog splash through a table on the outside of the ring.
