Comic-Con 2022: Secret Invasion's Cobie Smulders Teases ... (Comicbook.com)

During last night's Hall H presentation at San Diego Comic-Con, Marvel Studios unveiled the first look at the upcoming Disney+ series Secret Invasion.

"I think they edited it together and I'm not quite sure, I think they just went, 'How do they not know that this is happening?' They're so smart, I think that was it was. "I'll get a call and they're like, 'We're thinking about you doing this.' I mean, the Spider-Man thing was like such a lovely surprise and that's a cool thing that they're doing here at Marvel where the stories are kind of overlapping, like they do in the comic books, and being able to do a series like Secret Invasion is, you're allowed you're allowing the audience to sit with these characters more in situations that aren't so intense. But I think she can see how broken this man is from loss and past experiences that she has a lot of concern about that." She's handled a lot for just a puny human, you know what I mean? "Hill's been holding down the fort, you know what I mean? Can I not trust you?

UPDATE: Marvel's Secret Invasion Has Not Cast Regé-Jean Page (CBR)

Bridgerton's Regé-Jean Page was listed on the Secret Invasion cast list by mistake and is not joining the Marvel series.

The show will premiere on Disney+ in spring 2023 and will be the first TV series of Phase 5. After starring in the 2016 remake of Roots and the ABC legal drama For the People, Page found his breakout role in Bridgerton, which quickly became one of Netflix's most popular shows. The presentation itself featured a surprise screening of the drama's first trailer, with Colbie Smolders, who will return as Maria Hill, in attendance to hype the project.

Marvel Picked the Worst Show to Accidentally Put Regé-Jean Page ... (Gizmodo)

The former Bridgerton actor is, as of right now, not going to be in any Marvel properties.

After the Marvel Theatrical panel on Saturday night, Marvel sent out a press release to a bunch of press-release-hungry journalists. This is funny for a few reasons, not because Marvel made a factual error, but because they did it for a show where the powers of an entire alien species are such that they can shape-shift into any other person. Marvel quickly realized the error after publications reported on the cast list and sent out a swift correction.

Marvel Removes Bridgerton Star From Secret Invasion Cast List (Screen Rant)

Former S.H.I.E.L.D. director Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) and his Skrull associate Talos (Ben Mendelsohn) are reteaming in the show after Spider-Man: Far From ...

Page's star has risen considerably since he wooed audiences as the Duke of Hastings on Netflix's Bridgerton, and he was actually at SDCC to promote his film Dungeons & Dragons. He made no appearance at the Marvel panel, but that does not mean Page hasn't spoken to the studio about a potential role in another project. As confirmed by Marvel Studios in a new tweet, Page will not appear in Secret Invasion. His name was included in the show's cast list erroneously, and that mistake has since been rectified. Although Marvel has confirmed that Page's inclusion in the Secret Invasion cast list was an accident, curiosity remains about why the studio made such an error. Marvel is eyeing a spring 2023 release, so there is still plenty of time. Marvel clarifies that Bridgerton star Regé-Jean Page is not in Secret Invasion. Based on Brian Michael Bendis and Leinil Francis Yu's comic book arc of the same name, Secret Invasion is the first and perhaps biggest entry in Marvel's Phase 5 streaming slate. Former S.H.I.E.L.D. director Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) and his Skrull associate Talos (Ben Mendelsohn) are reteaming in the show after Spider-Man: Far From Home confirmed their continued partnership.
