US Representative Matt Gaetz says ugly women shouldn't worry ... (Euro Weekly News)

At a conservative student summit in Florida, US representative Matt Gaetz said that ugly women needn't worry about abortion rights.

Other comments reminded twitter users that this misogynistic speech was made by a man “who had to pay for sex and trafficked teens” and that Gaetz should “sit all the way down”. He also called the people protesting against the recent overturning of Roe Vs Wade as “odious from the inside out”, saying they had “ankles weaker than the legal reasoning behind Roe Vs Wade. His speech then continued in a series of disparaging comments about their height and weight which became increasingly fatphobic, as he recommended that those marching should “march for like an hour a day” and benefit if they “maybe mix in a salad”. Gaetz continued his speech to question “Why is it that the women with the least likelihood of getting pregnant are the ones most worried about having abortions?”. This came after he referred to the people taking part in what he termed “pro-abortion, pro-murder rallies” as “disgusting”.

Why is it that the women with the least likelihood of getting pregnant are the ones most worried about having abortions?” Right off the bat, it’s worth noting that Gaetz should probably be a little less cavalier when making offensive comments like these given that he’s facing a sex-trafficking investigation. In the run-up to the 2016 presidential election, Donald Trump faced allegations of sexual misconduct from many women, including one who accused the Republican of having groped her on an airplane.

Gaetz has denied doing so, telling The Daily Beast in a text message last March, “The last time I had a sexual relationship with a seventeen year old, I was seventeen.” The investigation, which began in the closing months of the Trump administration, grew out of an investigation into Joel Greenberg, a friend of Gaetz’s who is cooperating with authorities after pleading guilty last May to six charges of sex trafficking. Pence aide: Matt Gaetz will 'be in prison for child sex trafficking' (Business Insider)

"Let me just say what everyone here knows: Mike Pence will never be president," Gaetz had said at a conservative conference over the weekend.

Rumors have swirled that Gaetz might be implicated in the Greenberg probe, especially after the Daily Beast reported that the Florida lawmaker sent multiple cash payments via Venmo to Greenberg, one of which was labeled with a "love hotel emoji." "It's more likely that he'll be in prison for child sex trafficking by 2024, and I'm actually surprised that Florida law enforcement still allows him to speak to teenage conferences like that." The congressman has denied all wrongdoing and has not been charged with a crime. This would put the former vice president on a direct collision course with his ex-boss, Trump, who has long teased a 2024 run. "Let me just say what everyone here knows," Gaetz said. "I don't know if Mike Pence will run for president in 2024, but I don't think Matt Gaetz will have an impact on that — in fact, I'd be surprised if he's still voting," Short said.
