Vince McMahon retires from WWE: Brock Lesnar 'very pissed off ... (GiveMeSport)

Brock Lesnar is said to have been 'very pissed off' at the news that Vince McMahon has retired from WWE and left SmackDown.

As of right now, there’s no word on if the match is going to take place or not, but WWE has eight days to sort out their plans, and if needs must, figure out a backup. This is the biggest change that WWE has undergone since Vince took over in 1982, and the company will never be the same again. Vince McMahon has retired from WWE in the biggest wrestling news story ever, and Brock Lesnar is reportedly rather unhappy about it all.

Brock Lesnar Reportedly Walks out of WWE SmackDown (Comicbook.com)

Tonight's episode of WWE SmackDown might have just taken a hit courtesy of the fallout from Vince McMahon's retirement announcement.

Alvarez would add that Lesnar said some sort of derivative of "if he's gone, I'm gone." Recent reports indicate he won't have a role in creative any longer, and a new report from Fightful Select has stated that Brock Lesnar was "very pissed off" about the Vince news, with Bryan Alvarez adding that several sources are saying Lesnar has left the building outright. Not too long ago McMahon announced on Twitter that he would be retiring from WWE and that Stephanie McMahon and Nick Khan would be Co-CEOs, and ever since more details have started to flow in regarding if Vince has any role in creative or the overall process.

Report: Brock Lesnar leaves SmackDown after McMahon news (ClutchPoints)

After the earth-shattering announcement of Vince McMahon retiring from WWE, Brock Lesnar has reportedly left tonight's SmackDown taping.

Why Brock decided to pack his things and leave is a mystery, as Vince is reportedly not even at the venue tonight. Now, will this be reminiscent of the “Stone Cold” Steve Austin walkout of 2002? While that would be ironic, considering he walked out of a match against Brock Lesnar booked by Vince McMahon, for the sake of new co-CEOs Stephanie McMahon and Nick Khan, let’s hope that is not the case, as a lot of eyes will be on the first post-Vince Premium Live Event, and WWE has clearly been leaning heavily on this Last Man Standing Match.

Report: Brock Lesnar might be out for WWE's SummerSlam (ClutchPoints)

After walking out of SmackDown earlier in the afternoon, Brock Lesnar reportedly wants nothing to do with WWE's SummerSlam next week.

Is this the end of the story? Well, fortunately for the WWE Universe – if you can call it that – the Fed reportedly has a backup lined up if Lesnar can’t be convinced to return for a match quite literally being billed as his ‘Final Battle’ with Reigns. Goodness, the duo must have become fast friends over the past two years.

Brock Lesnar Gives WWE SummerSlam Much-Needed Sizzle, But ... (Bleacher Report)

Brock Lesnar stepped through the curtain in the closing minutes of Friday's WWE SmackDown like a conquering hero there to save the day.

Until the creative forces adjust or completely blow up their methods, though, the promotion will find itself in a real jam should Lesnar ever decide not to walk through that curtain at the final hour, saving the company from chaos and uncertainty. Even if he does find it easy to work with Stephanie McMahon, Nick Khan and Triple H (or some combination of the three), there is no guarantee that he will not take another walk. While the name appeal is there based on fans' love of nostalgia and all things Monday Night Wars, we have seen that match in the past. The spontaneity of his departure Friday afternoon and business relationship with McMahon, though, creates very real questions about his long-term future in WWE. Lesnar is a proven draw and a star with appeal beyond the world of professional wrestling.
