It’s just trying to get up to speed as quick as I can and when I go on the field, do as much as I can to help the team.” “I’m excited to get my debut out of the way,” he smiled. The Welshman signed with LAFC on June 27. However, Bale was a vital component of the Wales men's national team during the recent June international window. In the five years since then, though, the quality of MLS has improved. They went on to win the match by that same score.

How to Watch Nashville SC vs. LAFC: Preview, odds (Angels on Parade)

LAFC finally won an El Trafico in 2022, and now, they need to turn their attention to a potential playoff opponent this year, as they will take on Nashville ...

Considering this matchup is fresh and novel, we have to see what happens on this one. I think this is going to be a great litmus test for both teams. Hany Mukhtar remains an MLS MVP candidate this season, and Nashville can certainly strangle games with effective defensive play, but Nashville haven’t posted consecutive wins in league play since April. They won Wednesday, downing the Seattle Sounders 1-0 at home, so if that pattern holds, LAFC can get a result.

Bale makes MLS debut in LAFC 2-1 win at Nashville (FRANCE 24)

Wales captain Gareth Bale got his first taste of Major League Soccer action on Sunday in Los Angeles FC's 2-1 away victory over Nashville in Tennessee.

"It's something I'm not used to. "Important also for me individually that I kind of get my fitness going. "But these are the challenges that we all have to deal with and we have to push through and do what we have to for the team." "Now it's just important to try and get some minutes, try and get as fit as possible as quick as possible." Both Bale and Chiellini said the heat and humidity in Nashville -- a feature in many MLS venues in a regular season played in the summer months -- was something they'll have to adjust to. "I was itching, soon as I got on the bench I wanted to get off and help the team, play some minutes," Bale said.

Chicho Arango and Jose Cifuentes scored goals for LAFC to hand Nashville SC its second home loss of the season. Hany Mukhtar scored his 12th MLS goal.

"You never like giving up a goal right in the first minute of the second half," defender Walker Zimmermann said. Therefore he stuck with the same defense that started in the win against Seattle. "You've got to take advantage of those moments when they come along. Hany Mukhtar evened the score just before halftime with a penalty kick after a ruling that CJ Sapong was unfairly brought down in the box. Romney's absence was not due to injury or poor form. "Those three games this time of year can be hugely challenging."

Bale an odd fit for LAFC, losing Taty would hit NYCFC hard & more ... (MLSsoccer.com)

Heineken Rivalry Week has come to an end. In we go: Hit and Run. If this is the last we'll see of Taty Castellanos, the reigning Golden Boot winner ...

They did that by getting a goal midway through the first half from Chicho Arango to make it 1-0, and then a goal from Jose Cifuentes early in the second half to make it 2-1. He came on for the final 18 minutes and while he got a few touches on the ball, none of them were in dangerous spots and he, himself, created no danger. Steve Cherundolo tried to mitigate this by subbing off Arango and putting Vela central as more of a false 9, which in theory allows Bale to spend his time inverted on the right. More telling, though, is that despite the fact that the game was scoreless for 69 minutes, and despite the fact that Montréal played the final 10 minutes a man down, this result felt inevitable. They’re still direct, but are possessing the ball a bit more and are unbeaten (a win and two draws) since that change. “We are living in a cruel moment of the sport, any mistake and any misfortune can affect us. We still have [13] games left, so there’s still a lot of the season to go. “We had a couple chances and in the counter attacks we were able to hurt them. FC Dallas are one of the worst teams in the league at protecting a lead. "And I suppose the identity that we're seeing is that this team never knows when it's beat, it never knows when to give up, and it scores late goals." Including that win over the Revs they are now 7W-5L-3D in their past 15 outings, a stretch that also includes Saturday’s dramatic, come-from-behind 3-2 win over visiting Charlotte, one in which everybody ran, everybody worked, and at the final whistle, one of Miami’s heroes was none other than super-sub Gonzalo Higuain. Manager Phil Neville came out in the press afterwards and laid a challenge at the feet of his star player, Gonzalo Higuain.

“World-class” Chiellini shows his value as LAFC win in Italian's debut (MLSsoccer.com)

Some things about Major League Soccer will take some getting used to for Giorgio Chiellini and his fellow LAFC newcomer Gareth Bale.

But away, it's always different to win,” said Chiellini. “We have two away games, the next one in Kansas City next week; it's very important for us starting in the right way, and surely now we have to recover, prepare as well as possible for the game for Kansas. And we have to continue to win, because if we want to stay at the top of the league, we have to win away. “It’s a league in which there are so many counterattacks and the teams play open, and it's a little bit different from what I am used to in Italy,” the 37-year-old added. He and his famous new signings made it clear that an MLS Cup title is their target and expectation. He is a world-class defender and he is an amazing human being in the locker room. “Giorgio, we chose to start and see how long his legs would take him after a very short preseason, and to last for 60 minutes was great. The footballing side of things is much more familiar to the Italian legend.

I think this was a very good performance for LAFC. Once again they got pegged back, but they played better in the 2nd half and the in-form players continued to show out. Still, giving up a penalty before halftime was a bummer, and LAFC had work to do for the rest of the game. LAFC’s final two changes on the night were Ismael Tajouri-Shradi and Sebastien Ibeagha, replacing Escobar and Kwadwo Opoku, respectively, in the 84th minute. LAFC got their second goal within the first minute of the 2nd half. There weren’t a ton of chances for either side, but LAFC were good value to be level, with the best open play chance and keeping Nashville from getting good shots on target inside the 18-yard box. The first real mistake of the game came as the 1st half wound down, with Ilie Sanchez grabbing CJ Sapong’s jersey on a Nashville corner kick.

Since then, the list has grown to include the late stages of celebrated careers like Thierry Henry, Frank Lampard, Andrea Pirlo, Wayne Rooney and others. Wise clubs have worked like Nashville SC's when it entered MLS a few years ago. There was a tangible buzz in the sold-out crowd. It has been difficult to consistently do both. “I haven’t come here just to wind down,” Bale says. He’s smiling like he knows something you don't.
