MLB Odds: Reds vs. Yankees prediction, odds and pick - 7/13/2022 (ClutchPoints)

The New York Yankees will host the Cincinnati Reds tonight for the second game of this three-game series after a major upset last night for the Reds to come ...

However, to me, the main story is the pitching of the Reds. Mike Minor is simply just not a good pitcher right now and giving up way too many runs, especially now that he has to face a hot Yankees team. Last night’s game was indeed a miracle for Reds Moneyline betters after they put up four runs in the top of the ninth to win. Overall on the year, the Yankees have a record of 61-26 while still 14.0 games ahead of the Rays in the AL East. The Yankees don’t really need much talked about when we already know it. Starting on the bump tonight will be Luis Severino, who is showing a 5-3 record with a 3.11 ERA. As long as they can keep the hot bats on the Reds’ shoulders, they’ll get back in the win column. They’ll look to try and do it again tonight as the Reds really need to start winning games if they want to see the postseason at all. With that, it’s time to continue our MLB odds series with a Reds-Yankees prediction and pick.

This is also a rock-solid price on a prop that the red-hot Torres has a very good chance of hitting. Additionally, no National League team has swung and missed more against righties on the road in the last two weeks than Cincinnati, which sports a bloated 31.2 percent strikeout rate during that span. The Yankees still have baseball’s best home record (34-10) despite Tuesday’s defeat, and New York also has a 4-2 mark in interleague games and a 16-8 record after a loss. Moreover, Severino has allowed more than three earned runs just twice in 15 starts, while Cincy is averaging the third-fewest runs per road game (3.4). The under has a strong 25-18-1 record in the Yankees’ home games, a 4-2 mark in their interleague games, and a 14-9-1 record in games following a Yankees’ loss. The Yankees are out for a bit of atonement in the middle game of their interleague series against the Reds on Wednesday, as New York aims to make up for a 4-3 loss on Tuesday night.

Reds vs. Yankees MLB Odds, Picks, Predictions: Back New York ... (The Action Network)

Nicholas Martin previews Wednesday's MLB game between the Reds and Yankees, including betting odds and a prediction.

I see far more value with this as opposed to the Yankees giving -1.5 runs on the spread at -160, which I’m sure will also be a popular play on this contest. Plus, we know even the worst teams will have stretches like this where batted balls just seem to get down at the right times. New York has also hit to excellent numbers against the fastball and slider in particular, with a combined run value of 54.6, and should see those pitches more than 70% of the time with Minor on the mound. And even should the Reds manage to continue this surprising recent run of results with a strong output against Severino, it might not mean finding a result with Minor on the mound. Throughout the campaign, the Reds has been the league’s fourth least productive unit against right-handed pitching as well, with a wRC+ of 84 and a strikeout rate of 24.2 percent. Cincinnati has still hit to a fifth worst wRC+ of 87 over the last 30 days, with a WOBA of .301 this season.

Reds vs. Yankees prediction: Picks, odds, live stream, TV channel ... (DraftKings Nation)

We go over how to watch Wednesday's game between the Cincinnati Reds and New York Yankees and make some picks.

The Yankees slugger has hit two home runs this week already and has four in his career off Minor, so this prop looks really good. Despite the good vibes coming out of the visitor's dugout, Minor has struggled a lot this season with an ERA above 6.00. He’s earned just one win in his last seven starts and has given up 28 earned runs in his last 38 innings pitched. This is really the logical play here despite how the two teams are trending. After sweeping the Tampa Bay Rays over the weekend, Cincy kept the good times rolling with a win in the series opener in the Bronx. Overall they’ve won five straight and are no longer the laughing stock of baseball like they were earlier in the season. Plus Severino has been quite good this season, giving up just 15 earned runs in his last 42 innings pitched. The Cincinnati Reds and New York Yankees square off on Wednesday with first pitch set for 7:05 p.m. EST. The game takes place at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx and will only be available on local TV or through an MLB.tv subscription.

Jonathan India, Reds shock Yankees with 9th-inning comeback for ... (Cincinnati.com)

The Cincinnati Reds and Jonathan India rallied from a three-run deficit to stun the Yankees in a 4-3 win on Tuesday.

The Reds are on a five-game winning streak, their longest of the season. The Reds had four walk-off wins last week and followed it with an astonishing comeback. I just heard Farmer saying, ‘three, three.’ I said I’m just going to wing it as hard as I can, I don’t care if it goes in the stands." As much as India helped win the game with his bat, his arm likely saved a run in the seventh inning. The Reds finally were back to full strength with their lineup, an extremely rare occurrence this year. India fielded the ball behind second base and made an underhand flip to shortstop Kyle Farmer, who did a pirouette before firing to first base. "There is not a tougher at-bat," said Reds Manager David Bell, who overheard several players saying it was their favorite win of the season. Torres looked in disbelief from the dirt when the umpire signaled he was out. There was Jonathan India fouling changeup after changeup with the Reds down to their final strike and the tying run at third base. Reds catcher Tyler Stephenson said India's go-ahead hit gave him flashbacks to the team's series in San Diego last year. Peralta induced a pair of groundballs and they both turned into outs at the plate. Yankees closer Clay Holmes entered with a 0.46 ERA, but he didn't record an out against the five batters he faced.

Reds vs. Yankees Prediction and Odds for Wednesday, July 13 ... (Yardbarker)

A blind squirrel finds a nut every once in a while, right? Cincinnati certainly did last night in a wildly improbable win over the Yankees.

But I felt like that speech or whatever, the time and place I did for the first one was great, and I was just kind of giving it for that retirement for the two years I had in Tampa. But I think it was blown out of proportion maybe a little. They were forced to Pacioretty Tuesday for salary-cap reasons, just as they had to move Evgenii Dadonov out earlier this offseason for the same purpose after botching a trade deadline deal in March that would’ve sent him to a team on his no-trade list. Malkin is a first-ballot Hall of Famer, but I have to at least ask the question: is re-signing Malkin, not to mention Kris Letang and Rickard Rakell, the way forward for a franchise mired in mediocrity over the past half decade? Vegas Golden Knights The Golden Knights have thrown one prospect and core player after another aside in pursuit of the next shiny toy, from Jettison Pacioretty to Mark Stone to Alex Pietrangelo to Jack Eichel, and it’s finally landed them in a bad spot. Even scarier is the prospect of a domino effect that could disfigure Calgary from a true Stanley Cup contender to a team selling off its core in a fire sale. He’s only a couple seasons removed from looking like one of the most promising goalies in the game, and he’s just 25. The Wings obviously had cap space to spare, but is this the kind of contract that might hold them back from chasing a superstar in a future offseason? It already sacrificed Ryan McDonagh earlier this month in a trade to the Nashville Predators, and it informed coveted UFA left winger Ondrej Palat Tuesday that the cap space to retain him had simply run out. That said, it’s risky to bank on him to match the career-best production he showed with the Winnipeg Jets and New York Rangers this past season, playing with the likes of Mark Scheifele and Artemi Panarin. Detroit desperately needs a long-term complement for Dylan Larkin at center, but is that Copp? I’m skeptical. Knicks sources have recently said the team would not be willing to trade RJ Barrett in any deal, according to Ian Begley of SNY. While it is possible Mitchell’s potential availability could change that stance, Begley is skeptical that it would. Unfortunately for the Reds, New York happens to have the most dangerous lineup in baseball. The former All-American is arguably the greatest defensive player in the history of the Arizona Cardinals. He has four career punt-return touchdowns to his name.

The New York Yankees face the Cincinnati Reds in a regular season game on Wednesday, July 13, 2022 (7/13/22) at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, New York.

He was picked eighth overall by the Pittsburgh Pirates in 2012 before returning to Stanford for his senior season and moving up to No. 1. Austin Hays had to beat the weather to hit for the cycle. Los Angeles won two of three in Freddie Freeman’s return to Atlanta. — Appel is one of a handful of No. 1 picks who haven’t played in the majors. That was enough time — he hit a single in the first, a homer in the third, a triple in the fourth and a double in the sixth. That was in 1989, when Andy Benes, Ken Griffey Jr. and Jeff King — the No. 1 pick in each of the previous three years — all began their big league careers. Brady Aiken, selected in 2014 by Houston, is a more recent example. After Chris Taylor stole second, Trayce Thompson’s single scored both runners to force extra innings. — Although so far, 1989 is the only year four top picks have made their big league debuts, there were other seasons when three No. 1s did it. He resurfaced last year and finally joined the Phillies this weekend, although he didn’t pitch. Only one other time have four top picks made their debuts in one year. Appel was called up by the Philadelphia Phillies on Saturday, nine years after he was drafted first overall by Houston. In between, he bounced around the minors, was traded in the 2015 deal that sent Ken Giles to the Astros — and even quit baseball for a bit.
