Sixers officially sign P.J. Tucker and Danuel House Jr. while Jimmy Butler leaps into the fray with some playful trash talk.

He made the sound noises and everything.— Alykhan Bijani (@Rockets_Insider) #Rockets pic.twitter.com/HFsXyXDueQ April 15, 2019 We got word from B/R’s Jake Fischer that Tucker may have a player option for the final, third-year of his deal. Butler and the Heat are going to miss Tucker, so this is what you’d call some playful banter. You can only imagine what a kick Joel, who loves Butler, got out of this. Tucker is 37 now so he’ll really be getting up there in NBA years by the time he’s deciding what to do. Danuel House said his patented bow-and-arrow celebration is a tribute to his kids. He also met with GM Elton Brand and signed his deal. The best news here is that those discarded or donated Simmons jerseys can now be repurposed with a bit of crafty stitching or tape. — Philadelphia 76ers (@sixers)— Philadelphia 76ers (@sixers) pic.twitter.com/ODEOxfIu4M July 7, 2022 House gave the reveal on his Instagram, and fans everywhere had a reaction since 25 was of course, Ben Simmons’ old number. When NBA Summer League begins it’s usually a slow time of year in the NBA. But the Kevin Durant trade request bombshell has changed the whole vibe a bit. But still, the Sixers had some good news Wednesday. Their two new signings in P.J. Tucker and Danuel House Jr. became official!

House, out of Texas A&M, played 3½ seasons for the Rockets before being waived on Dec. 18. Harden, 32, spent a little over eight seasons with the Rockets before forcing a trade to the Brooklyn Nets on Jan. 13, 2021. House, 29, was assigned to the Delaware Blue Coats, the Sixers’ NBA G League affiliate, as a Washington Wizards rookie during the 2016-17 season. Offensively, he creates a matchup problem for opposing post players as a small-ball post player. The Sixers signed both Tucker and House to their free-agent contracts on Wednesday. Tucker signed a three-year, $33.2 million deal and House inked a two-year, $8.5 million contract. As a result, there will be a Houston Rockets reunion in Philly with House, Tucker, James Harden, and Sixers president of basketball operations Daryl Morey all connected to the franchise.

Of course, a key element in the 3-and-D equation is converting 3-pointers.
