Jimmy Butler amusingly popped up in the comments of P.J. Tucker's farewell to the Heat on social media.

That number also isn’t on the table in Philadelphia because of Dolph Schayes. “We’re excited to add his leadership, toughness, defensive versatility and championship pedigree to our roster. "P.J. Tucker is one of the most respected and relentless competitors in our game and is the type of competitor our fans will love and embrace,” Morey said. Butler and Embiid have a well-documented friendship. “Obviously that’s my guy,” Embiid said. “That’s my brother.

PJ Tucker took time out of his Wednesday afternoon to formally say goodbye and thank you to the Miami Heat after his one-year tenure with the organization. Butler’s comment is presumably all fun and games, though I’m willing to bet he’s at least a little bit hurt by Tucker’s decision to leave the team after the Heat were a game away from their second NBA Finals appearance in three seasons. In the Instagram post, Tucker called Miami “home” and thanked the city for the love throughout the season.

Jimmy Butler drops F-bomb on ex-teammates PJ tucker and Joel ... (Fox News)

P.J. Tucker left a heartwarming post following his exit from the Miami Heat and Jimmy Butler came with a tough troll job.

That was in reference to Philly’s decision to sign Harris to a lucrative contract extension in lieu of keeping Butler, prompting his trade to the Heat. Butler’s been prickly about the 76ers since they traded him after the 2018-19 season and his former Philly teammate, Embiid, has become a legit MVP contender. Butler is obviously unhappy that Tucker’s move weakened the Heat and at the same time, made Philadelphia better.

The Heat forward is not happy with Tucker's decision to sign in Philadelphia.

When Miami eliminated Philadelphia in the playoffs last year, Butler wasn’t shy about his joy in being the one to send them home. Though our journey together has come to an end the love will forever remain the same.”

PJ Tucker knows what Sixers fans demand from their players, and he is ready to live up to those expectations.

“This team is good enough to compete head-to-head with anybody in the league, and I’m going to come in here and do whatever I can to help get us to that next level. “We’re excited to add his leadership, toughness, defensive versatility and championship pedigree to our roster. Philly fans demand greatness and it will be up to us to get to where we need to be,” Tucker said of joining the Sixers, perIra Winderman of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel.

He made the sound noises and everything.— Alykhan Bijani (@Rockets_Insider) #Rockets pic.twitter.com/HFsXyXDueQ April 15, 2019 We got word from B/R’s Jake Fischer that Tucker may have a player option for the final, third-year of his deal. Butler and the Heat are going to miss Tucker, so this is what you’d call some playful banter. You can only imagine what a kick Joel, who loves Butler, got out of this. Tucker is 37 now so he’ll really be getting up there in NBA years by the time he’s deciding what to do. Danuel House said his patented bow-and-arrow celebration is a tribute to his kids. He also met with GM Elton Brand and signed his deal. When NBA Summer League begins it’s usually a slow time of year in the NBA. But the Kevin Durant trade request bombshell has changed the whole vibe a bit. But still, the Sixers had some good news Wednesday. Their two new signings in P.J. Tucker and Danuel House Jr. became official!

According to Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald, Butler was “very much hoping” Tucker would stay with the Heat. After that elimination, Butler very vocally came off the court saying “Tobias Harris over me?” referencing Philadelphia’s decision to build around a core of Harris, Joel Embiid, and Ben Simmons instead of him. Tucker is now playing for the team he helped eliminate from the 2022 NBA playoffs.

House, out of Texas A&M, played 3½ seasons for the Rockets before being waived on Dec. 18. Harden, 32, spent a little over eight seasons with the Rockets before forcing a trade to the Brooklyn Nets on Jan. 13, 2021. House, 29, was assigned to the Delaware Blue Coats, the Sixers’ NBA G League affiliate, as a Washington Wizards rookie during the 2016-17 season. Offensively, he creates a matchup problem for opposing post players as a small-ball post player. The Sixers signed both Tucker and House to their free-agent contracts on Wednesday. Tucker signed a three-year, $33.2 million deal and House inked a two-year, $8.5 million contract. As a result, there will be a Houston Rockets reunion in Philly with House, Tucker, James Harden, and Sixers president of basketball operations Daryl Morey all connected to the franchise.

Daryl Morey Reacts to P.J. Tucker, Danuel House Signings (Sports Illustrated)

The Philadelphia 76ers officially announced two of their newly signed players on Wednesday night. As expected, the Sixers have brought on former Miami Heat.

While Tucker was linked to the Sixers in the weeks leading up to free agency, House was a surprising signing when the market opened last week. Last season, the Sixers were linked to House when he became a free agent during the season. "He is a willing shooter from outside who can space the floor and punish the opposition. When House played for the Rockets from 2018 to 2020, Sixers President of Basketball Operations Daryl Morey was the leader of Houston's front office. P.J. wants to deliver an NBA title to Philadelphia, and his work ethic and mentality make him an impactful addition to our team and city." According to a team release, terms of the deals were not revealed, per team policy.
