Now we have the date, and that was really the only outstanding major question left. A recent leak said that Sony was planning to reveal the date about a week ago, but that didn’t happen and Sony Santa Monica’s Cory Balrog tweeted that if it was up to him, he’d share more, implying Sony wanted to wait for some reason. That’s pretty much it, it seems, and unlike Xbox’s Starfield, which was delayed into 2023, PlayStation will indeed have a big holiday hit this year, and it seems as if Elden Ring could have some 2022 GOTY competition after all.

God of War: Ragnarok is launching on November 9th (The Verge)

God of War: Ragnarok, one of Sony's biggest games of the year, has an official release date. The game is set to be released on both PS5 and PS4.

Join Kratos and Atreus on a mythic journey for answers before the prophesied battle that will end the world. The game was originally scheduled to release in 2021, but was later bumped to 2022. In addition to the release date news, the developer also put out a new CG trailer that teases out some of the story.

Sony's long-awaited God of War sequel arrives on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 in November, Sony announced with a new CG trailer.

You can see God of War Ragnarok’s Jötnar Edition unboxed in the video below. Ragnarok was previously slated for a 2022 release window after being delayed out of 2021. Sony also released a new trailer for God of War Ragnarok, but don’t expect new gameplay: It’s a CG trailer setting the tone for Kratos and Atreus’ new adventure.

God Of War Ragnarok Preorders: 4 Editions Up For Grabs, Bonuses ... (GameSpot)

God of War Ragnarok's Collector's Edition and Jotnar Edition will surely sell out quickly when they are available to preorder on July 15.

The duo is on a mission to learn more about the prophecy of Loki, trekking across the Nine Realms and facing off against Norse gods in the process. The box is a replica of the Knowledge Keeper's Shrine, which appeared in God of War. It's a bit of a bummer that it doesn't include a physical disc, especially since the CE has a steelbook case with the Bear and the Wolf emblazoned on the front. God of War Ragnarok's Digital Deluxe Edition will come with a bunch of in-game content as well as additional bonuses that will appeal to dedicated fans. After all, God of War Ragnarok will undoubtedly be one of the best-selling games of the holiday season. Both of those premium editions of Ragnarok come with a bunch of collectibles and are sure to sell out very quickly.

'God of War Ragnarok' trailer drops a massive clue about Atreus' future (Inverse)

The latest trailer for God of War Ragnarok might reveal a key detail on Atreus' future, and where the game's story could be going.

We still don’t know a lot about where the overall narrative of God of War Ragnarok is going, but with so many mysteries surrounding Atreus, the new game is bound to explore more of his story. However, the way to do that might involve using the world tree to travel back through time to when Tyr visited Greece. This would make sense as there are giant gaps of time and events that God of War still hasn’t explored, like how Kratos came to the Norse lands, or how he met his wife Laufey. Kaptain Kuba believes the object is something used to restore the world since the time period depicted in the tapestry is after the fall of Greece. In God of War 2, Kratos uses the Loom of Fate to travel back in time to the exact moment his father Zeus betrayed him. it stands to reason that the same could happen to Fenrir. In Norse Mythology it’s prophesized that Jormundandr and Thor will kill each other during Ragnarok, and splinter the world tree Yggdrasil during their battle. Some dialogue in the first God of War seems to suggest that Jormungandr has already experienced Ragnarok, and Freya even says the World Serpent showed up one day without warning.
