Lakers Rumors: Insider Provides Latest on Mavericks Trading for ... (Sports Illustrated)

Despite some reports linking Dallas to Kyrie Irving, Marc Stein reports that the Dallas Mavericks will not pursue a trade for the Nets guard.

Could it open the door for the Lakers to bring Kyrie into the fold? Durant communicated to Brooklyn Nets owner Joe Tsai his desire to be traded on Thursday and the Nets were already clearly frustrated with the Kyrie situation after the guard voluntarily missed most of the season due to his stance on getting vaccinated. Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving continue to dominate the NBA world.

“If you have to be the best out of 30, by definition you have to inject more variance into your system. As we approach the six year anniversary of KD joining the Warriors this Independence Day, I can think of nothing more radical than trying to reunite Harden and Irving as part of a four-headed monster in Philadelphia. If it’s the Ricky Bobby of the NBA where ‘if you ain’t first you’re last’ you have to inject more variance into your system, all the time. The expected value of staying pat might be higher. Could Kyrie somehow, some way convince Beard he’s ready to make up for lost time and slay now that he’s eligible to play in 29 of 30 arenas? The Sixers had a terrific free agency after Harden opted out yet their title odds have only slipped. As long as we’re in this “Harden never got hurt” fantasy, the Nets might have won the title again in 2021-2022. Probably not, and I wouldn’t even be thrilled to check after he took a huge pay cut. If he’s traded he will have have played 116 of a possible 324 games for Brooklyn over that contract. Meeting in the Hamptons now to hash out huge $100M bets on Harden’s aging 33-year old legs, etc. Sometimes it’s really hard to get Embiid the ball when he’s being doubled, tripled, and fronted. Daryl Morey does have the reputation as someone who values star power over chemistry and fit.

Sixers mentioned among several suitors to trade for Nets star Kyrie ... (Sixers Wire)

The Philadelphia 76ers are mentioned among several suitors to acquire Brooklyn Nets star Kyrie Irving in a trade.

New York City’s vaccine mandate prevented Irving from playing in home games and the Nets kept him away from the team at the beginning of the season because they did not just want a part-time player. If Daryl Morey and the Sixers were to acquire Irving, it would certainly be one situation to keep an eye on as there is also his relationship with Harden to consider after their brief time in Brooklyn. Especially, when one considers what the Minnesota Timberwolves gave up to acquire Rudy Gobert.

Kyrie Irving trade rumors: Lakers, Nets actively discussing deal ... (CBSSports.com)

Other pieces would have to be involved, but the deal would be centered around an Irving for Westbrook swap.

Most notably, the Nets want to move Joe Harris, who has two years and $38.6 million remaining on his contract and is coming off ankle surgery, while the Lakers are pushing to get Seth Curry instead. Irving has his fair share of negatives, but on the court he would be a much better fit than Westbrook, and would greatly increase the Lakers' title odds. Irving represents their best chance to add talent this summer, and he has a previous relationship with LeBron James. Both players will be hitting free agency next season, and the Lakers are trying to squeeze one more title out of the LeBron and Anthony Davis pairing.

LeBron James 'rooting hard' for Lakers to acquire Kyrie Irving: report (Fox News)

The Los Angeles Lakers appear to be the top suitors for Kyrie Irving, and former teammate LeBron James is reportedly "rooting hard" for a deal to happen.

James and Irving have a history. After the two led the Cleveland Cavaliers to an NBA title in 2016, the two superstars had a falling out, and Irving was traded to the Boston Celtics. In May, Irving said he regretted his dispute with James that resulted into the Cavaliers’ split. But with Kevin Durant requesting a trade, the Nets appear to be working on a deal for Irving too.

NBA World Reacts To Sunday Morning Kyrie Irving Rumors (The Spun)

With Kevin Durant trying to make his way out of Brooklyn, Kyrie Irving is sure to follow. Today a few teams were linked to a move.

Some are joking that Harden himself is probably dumbfounded by the rumor: As you might imagine, the 76ers are probably the most surprising team on that shortlist. Kyrie and LeBron James won an NBA title together in Cleveland and there are indications that the two might be willing to reunite for another one.

Shams Charania Continues to Push Kyrie Irving Agenda, Reports 3 ... (Sportscasting)

Insider Shams Charania says 'several suitors' are pursuing the Brooklyn Nets Kyrie Irving but that sounds like it's coming from Irving's camp.

However, he’s definitely presenting the situation in a Kyrie-centric light. If they can pay 10 cents on the dollar, that is. Calling the teams Charania mentioned “suitors” seems a bit much. That implies that these teams are aggressively pursuing Irving and lining up serious trade packages for him. Kyrie Irving is one guy who I think we gotta pay attention to. NBA insiders get great information because they have great relationships within the league.

3 Teams Reportedly Trying To Trade For Kyrie Irving (Sports Illustrated)

According to Shams Charania on Bally Sports, Brooklyn Nets star Kyrie Irving has several teams interested in trading for him.

"He has several suitors involved when you talk about Lakers, 6ers, Mavericks. I would keep an eye on Kyrie Irving over the next couple weeks as well as a guy that is likely going to potentially get moved, and Kevin Durant asking out probably opens the window for him too. Therefore, with two of the best 15 players in the world, they couldn't even make it to the Eastern Conference Finals. On top of missing many games, the franchise has yet to make it out of the second-round of the playoffs with him on the team.

Nets rumors: Kyrie Irving trade talks get harsh Lakers reality check (ClutchPoints)

Contrary to recent news, the Nets reportedly do not have a lot of suitors for star guard Kyrie Irving and only have the Lakers interested.

The Lakers’ interest is no surprise because they have been linked with Kyrie Irving ever since a potential sign-and-trade deal was floated and explored. Not sure what’s been reported elsewhere this morning, but I can report definitively that the Sixers are not and have not been engaged in trade talks for Kyrie this offseason. Contrary to earlier reports, the Brooklyn Nets do not have a lot of suitors for Kyrie Irving. Apparently, it’s just the Los Angeles Lakers who are interested in the veteran guard.

But there’s little doubt that the Lakers absolutely need to pounce on this trade. When Los Angeles had an opportunity to trade Westbrook and a first-round pick to the Houston Rockets in exchange for John Wall, the Lakers balked because they didn’t want to give up their draft asset. The Lakers have never been a franchise that wins championships based upon their draft picks. The time to contend is now, and the only way they can do that is by unloading the stubborn-natured Westbrook. It stems from repeated rumbles in circulation that LeBron James is rooting hard for Irving’s addition to the roster. According to Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports, the Nets are in discussions with the Lakers regarding a Westbrook-for-Irving swap.

Brian Lewis noted Sunday night, “So far, league sources have said nothing is imminent, or even at the advanced stage.” I do think there are teams that would like to do deals for him. But so far right now, there’s no traction really on deals with either Irving or Durant. They’ll develop over time but both of these processes could play out.” “Similar to Durant, a very slow moving market right now,” Woj said about the market for Irving. “I think unlike Kevin Durant, I think there is a limited number of teams where it might make sense.

Both Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving may have very well played their last games with the Brooklyn Nets, but no deal is imminent for either All-Star.

Kevin Durant has requested a trade and should he be granted this request, Kyrie Irving will very likely be following him out the door in Brooklyn. Still, no deal is on the table for either the Nets or Lakers pertaining to Irving.
