Woj Reveals the Utah Jazz's Plan for Donovan Mitchell Following ... (Sportscasting)

After the Utah Jazz traded Rudy Gobert, rumors about Donovan Mitchell are rampant, but ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski may have put that to rest.

The relationship between Utah Jazz stars Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert has been bad for a long time now. However, if Ainge and the Jazz get an offer they can’t refuse, Mitchell could be on his way out of Utah as well. That makes a rebuild around the star a plausible idea. Now the NBA universe is left wondering, what’s going on with Donovan Mitchell? And Adrian “Woj” Wojnarowski seemingly has the answer. Mitchell is a five-year NBA veteran with three All-Star appearances on his resume. Just about 24 hours after ESPN’s Brian Windhorst cryptically warned the NBA world to watch “What’s going on in Utah,” the Utah Jazz made a blockbuster trade.

After Rudy Gobert Trade, Could Donovan Mitchell Be Knicks-Bound? (Sports Illustrated)

The NBA world is shaking Friday after the Minnesota Timberwolves acquired Rudy Gobert from the Utah Jazz. It cost the Timberwolves a king's ransom to trade ...

The Knicks' interest in Mitchell has been well documented, and now they can put together a pretty respectable trade package for Mitchell if they wanted to. Although that might seem like a bit of an overpay, that's the kind of trade package teams are looking at if they want to acquire a star like Mitchell, who averages more than 25 points per game. He's not necessarily a better player than Mitchell, and yet the San Antonio Spurs still essentially got four first-round picks for him (two of them being unprotected).

The Jazz are reportedly not interested in trading Donovan Mitchell ... (Posting and Toasting)

The Utah Jazz set NBA Twitter on fire Friday afternoon by trading All-Star center Rudy Gobert to the Minnesota Timberwolves. Once Rudy was gone, ...

But when you’re talking about giving up multiple unprotected picks — and make no mistake, that will be just the starting point of these negotiations — these pesky details could set the Knicks back a decade. If the Knicks making a Mitchell deal, they should do it with Brunson in mind, right? The rebound and assist numbers are basically a wash. The Knicks have a treasure trove of young players and picks. How much sense does a Mitchell trade actually make for the Knicks? Utah hosts the 2023 All-Star Game, and there have been rumblings that Jazz ownership preferred to keep Mitchell at least until the All-Star festivities.

Jazz rumors: Utah's Donovan Mitchell trade plans get shocking new ... (ClutchPoints)

According to the latest rumors, the Jazz retooling around Donovan Mitchell after trading Rudy Gobert might not necessarily be the case.

As reported, though, the Utah franchise is said to be far from done in making moves as they explore their options in free agency. It remains to be seen what they’ll end up doing with Donovan Mitchell, but all eyes will certainly be on them as free agency continues. They already got four first-round picks from the Timberwolves in the Gobert deal, and they could certainly get more if they decide to trade Mitchell.

The Utah Jazz might intend to keep Donovan Mitchell as a centerpiece of the franchise, but that.

With what the team got for Gobert, imagine the kind of haul Mitchell could command. League sources: For now, there are no plans by the Utah Jazz to trade star guard Donovan Mitchell. The Jazz are committed to building around him. The return for the star center may not leave him feeling encouraged, though. Given how their relationship soured, Mitchell may not be heartbroken to see Gobert go. The Jazz are not done in trade talks. ESPN's Brian Windhorst also said on NBA Today some executives outside of Utah "think it would be abnormal for Donovan not to want out."

The Utah Jazz, one of the most successful regular season teams of the last few years, are currently having an especially weird offseason.

I’d doubt KD wants to play in Utah, but it’s not exactly up to him. Snyder recognized and believed in Mitchell’s talent from the get-go. Within the first few days of free agency. “Bryant played college basketball for the nearby Utah Utes until 2007. It can definitely be a ‘I’m just gonna sit and pout .’ Royce didn’t do that.” “Snyder and Mitchell had a good relationship, especially early in Mitchell’s career.

The Utah Jazz just traded Rudy Gobert to the Minnesota Timberwolves. Will Donovan Mitchell follow him out the door?

In addition to the Gobert trade, the Jazz dealt Royce O’Neale to the Brooklyn Nets on Thursday for a first-round pick, so they’re really stacking up assets. League sources: For now, there are no plans by the Utah Jazz to trade star guard Donovan Mitchell. The Jazz are committed to building around him. Three of those picks are fully unprotected, and there’s reportedly a pick swap as well in there plus five players: Malik Beasley, Jarred Vanderbilt, Walker Kessler, Patrick Beverley and Leandro Bolmaro. The question everybody is wondering now is if Donovan Mitchell will be traded next or if the Jazz will try to build around him.

Mets Game Fuels Donovan Mitchell Knicks Trade Speculation (Sports Illustrated)

Some are taking the Queens-based weekend activities of a certain NBA superstar, said to be on the move, to mean that he's on his way to Manhattan.

The Knicks are seen as a prime contender for Mitchell's services considering all the draft capital they've amassed while building a de facto budget for Brunson prior to his reported signing. With some foreseeing the Jazz, having already bid farewell to head coach Quin Snyder and tenured veteran Rudy Gobert, set to enter a rebuilding project, speculation around Mitchell's future has reached a peak. His father Donovan Sr., himself a former professional baseball player, is also employed in the Mets' front office.

Brian Windhorst Drops Major Truth Bomb On Donovan Mitchell: "The ... (Yardbarker)

The last we heard, the Utah Jazz were planning to avoid a total reset and build their roster around young stud Donovan Mitchell.

Toussaint, 26, was the 16th overall selection of the 2014 draft, taken by the Diamondbacks. He was traded to Atlanta in 2015 along with Bronson Arroyo for Phil Gosselin. In the years following that deal, Toussaint was viewed as one of the better prospects in Atlanta’s system and across the game as a whole. The Cardinals will aim to avoid a three-game losing streak on Saturday, but Nolan Arenado will hope to extend his positive momentum after hitting for the second cycle of his career on Friday. It was also the 17th cycle in the history of the Cardinals and the first since 2005. On Friday, the Timberwolves pulled of the biggest blockbuster of the young NBA offseason that will give the All-Star big man a running mate in the frontcourt unlike any other he's had since joining the Association. The return package going to the Utah Jazz is a haul, to say the least. There is at least some consideration being given to moving Tatis to center field upon his return, according to Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic. The consideration exists both to keep Kim’s glove on the field and to protect Tatis from potential re-injury. There’s more on Durant: Watching the Warriors win the championship played a role in Durant’s desire to leave Brooklyn, Wojnarowski said on ESPN’s “Get Up.” It contributed to the narrative that Durant can’t win on his own and that he’s trapped in a dysfunctional situation with the Nets. Durant reportedly asked for “a change of scenery” when he met with ownership on Thursday. Appearing this morning on ESPN’s “KJM,” Brian Windhorst cited a “high-90% chance” that the Nets will honor Durant’s trade request and said any deal involving Kyrie Irving will have to wait until Durant is moved. The extension will kick in for the 2023-24 season. There was a “ferocity” in the Nets‘ front office Thursday night as numerous teams called with trade offers for Kevin Durant, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski said on "SportsCenter." The response around the league to Durant’s trade request was immediate and intense as more than half the league made inquiries. Elise Mertens and Ons Jabeur will kick off the first wave of Round of 16 matches on the women’s side in one of the few seeded-player vs. Arenado kicked off his cycle in the top half of the first inning. Garland finished the 2021-22 season with the third most votes for Most Improved Player behind the Memphis Grizzlies' Ja Morant and San Antonio Spurs' Dejounte Murray. The latter was traded to the Atlanta Hawks earlier this week. Sense is that the Jazz are keeping their options open here: they could retool around Mitchell, or trade him for a massive haul to jumpstart a rebuild.

If Utah does opt to move on, the asking price may be set.

Would the Knicks view such a price as prohibitive? ]The Knicks want Mitchell; most every team does. As we are seeing once again with Kevin Durant essentially ordering the Brooklyn Nets to trade him, a player's desire carries great power here.

Donovan Mitchell has been a part of so much change in Utah. Gobert is now gone. However, the Heat may not be able to pull something off, especially if you factor in that Bam Adebayo couldn’t be part of any Nets deal without Ben Simmons.
