David Kirschner, Adam Shankman and Ralph Winter are executive producers of the film. Although they died at the end of the first movie, they have risen, this time facing off against two young girls who light the candle again. “Hocus Pocus” premiered in 1993, telling the story of three wicked sisters in Salem, Mass., who spent 300 years asleep before the lighting of the Black Flame Candle, which resurrects them on All Hallow’s Eve with a full moon in the sky.

While the footage is limited and the details of Hocus Pocus' sequel are still being kept under wraps, the project is one that's been decades in the making, as the original became more of a cult classic. That's certainly the case for Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy who seemingly slipped right back into their characters as Winnie, Sarah, and Mary Sanderson respectively. The first Hocus Pocus 2 trailer has brought back the Sanderson Sisters, so guard your children and draw a circle of salt around you. The pair are asked if they're looking for the stage, resulting in Winnie saying "always" as her sisters smile in response. After all, their performance of "I Put A Spell On You" is one oft he most iconic moments from the original 1993 movie. The trio is played by Whitney Peak, Lilia Buckingham and Belissa Escobedo. They attempt to use magic themselves, and end up lighting the infamous black flame candle in the process.

Hocus Pocus 2 is a horror-comedy sequel of the 1993 hit film, Hocus Pocus that sees the 17th-century Sanderson sisters wreak havoc on Salem intending to capture young children, taking their souls and thus gaining eternal life. There is a birthday celebrant amongst a group of three teenage girls and there is a discussion regarding how to celebrate the big occasion. The trailer for Hocus Pocus 2 begins with a blackbird flying across an expanse of water and then the ring of a school bell.
