'Barbie' movie's costume designer is an Oscar winner (New York Post)

"Little Women" costume designer Jacqueline Durran has joined the live-action "Barbie" movie.

Social media lost its mind earlier this month when Warner Bros. released the first photo of Gosling, 41, as Ken. The actor has bleach-blond hair, a spray tan and abs for days in the now-viral still. So far, the internet can’t get enough of Durran’s latest work. In the pic, blond Robbie sits in a pink convertible while sporting a blue polka-dot headband — and a big smile.

New images of Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling on the set of the Barbie movie reveal inline skating and neon pink fun.

Both of those toys seem to influence the cinematic Barbie and Ken’s wardrobe in the latest set photos, right down to the flashy neon yellow skates. But it’s been the set photos leaking out from location shooting in which passersby are able to capture images of Robbie and Gosling in iconic Barbie doll fashion that have really been winning over (or confounding) skeptics. That joyous fact is revealed by the latest batch of set photos from the set of Greta Gerwig’s delightfully surreal-looking Barbie movie.

Starring Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling, “Barbie” won't hit screens until next summer, but filming at Venice Beach has already whet appetites.

Eventually, Sony’s option ran out; Mattel then partnered with Warner Bros. in 2019, deciding that Robbie would play the live-action version of the legendary doll. “I was literally incapable of writing a Barbie script. “[A junior agent] was like, ‘If I could stake my career on any one script, it’s the ‘Barbie’ script. “Dude, I never even produced an initial draft. The couple’s beach-skating outfits, meanwhile, can be seen above, in all their neon glory. Might be everywhere, come next summer.

New Barbie Set Photos Cast Will Ferrell as the Movie's Villain (MovieWeb)

Following the many images of Robbie's Barbie and Ryan Gosling as Ken, the new images seem to show Ferrell's character in pursuit of Barbie with cohorts in tow.

"We like the things that feel a little left of center," Robbie said in a previous interview. Barbie has been in development for over a decade, but after struggling to find ground at Sony, the movie was taken over by Warner Bros. who seem to have wasted little time in bringing the project into production with some surprisingly strong talent in front and behind the camera. These images have led to speculation that Ferrell’s toy company CEO could well be the movie's villain with devious intentions for Barbie and Ken, which could lead to the many meta-theories doing the rounds about how multiple Barbies and Kens end up appearing in the movie.
