According to Silver, New York is receiving three conditional future first-round picks in the deal. By trading out of the first round, the Knicks reduce their salary cap obligations for this year, giving them more elbow room to dump salary if needed for another trade, perhaps as soon as a few days from now, cap expert Nate Duncan tweets. OKC used that pick on wing Jalen Williams from Santa Clara.

Ousmane Dieng is more high-upside NBA draft project than finished product right now. The Thunder are taking at swing at the NBL star.

If the Thunder can develop him to reach his full potential, they could have a star on their hands with the 11th overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft. The 19-year-old forward is a tantalizing talent that has a versatile skill set seemingly built for the modern NBA. Dieng was selected by the Knicks with the 11th pick in the 2022 NBA Draft and subsequently traded to the Thunder, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.

Dieng spent last season with the New Zealand Breakers of the NBL Australia, where he posted 8.9 points, 3.2 rebounds, 1.1 assists and 0.9 combined steals/blocks in 20.3 minutes per game. He'll join Chet Holmgren, as well as No. 12 overall pick Jalen Williams, on a developing Thunder roster that continues to stockpile young talent. At some point, the Thunder will shift toward attempting to contend, but given the age of its core, OKC will likely be headed for another rebuilding season in 2022-23.

Knicks trade Ousmane Dieng to Thunder after taking him with No. 11 ... (NorthJersey.com)

This was the second straight year the Knicks had an NBA Draft pick outside the Top 10 in the NBA draft. They traded that pick to the Thunder.

This came after a 41-31 record in the 2020-21 season where they qualified for the NBA playoffs for the first time since 2012-13. The deciding factor of the Knicks season was the brutal stretch from mid-January to early March. After a 117-108 victory over the Atlanta Hawks on Jan. 15, the team lost 17 of 20 games and saw their record fall from 22-21 to 25-38. This was the second straight year the Knicks had a pick outside the Top 10 after having three straight selections in the top eight from 2018-20.

TRADE: Knicks Sending Ousmane Dieng To Thunder (Yardbarker)

A Big Ten All-Freshman Team honoree, McGowens was also named to the 2021-22 All-Big Ten Third Team in 2022. They are 7-3 in their last 10 and are looking to win their fourth in a row. Alexandar Georgiev sits with a .909 save percentage over 131 career appearances and is coming off a two-year contract that carried a cap hit of $2.45M. It’s that cap hit that makes things difficult for the Rangers, as arbitration looms this summer should the team issue the $2.65M qualifying offer that Georgiev is owed, a total that isn’t all that appealing for a team that is going to be pushed right to the salary cap ceiling with some of the other extensions they will try to pull off. Because of that issue, Arthur Staple of The Athletic writes that Rangers general manager Chris Drury is “trying hard to find a trade partner” for Georgiev (who he refers to as “disgruntled”). Staple notes that the team was previously looking for a first-round pick in return, though that ask is now likely much lower now, as the offseason begins. So while the fate of the Predators’ most skilled forward is uncertain, the ability of Poile and the Predators to be a major player this offseason is not. In the sense of losing an incredible talent in Curtis, that will certainly hurt the most, especially to someone else in the Big Ten. However, Wisconsin has done a great job retooling on defense. But a deal has yet to be completed, and the team and player are reportedly far apart in their negotiations, paving the way for a departure. Much like the 2022 class, tight end has been a hard group for Wisconsin to receive a commitment from of late. A new extension for Forsberg will take a chunk of that cap space, and a possible extension for Trenin is of note as well. It’s definitely possible that the Predators simply do not want anyone on their books with a higher cap hit than Josi's, and it’s also definitely possible that Forsberg believes he can earn a bigger contract than that on the open market. It’s tough to find a perfect contract comparable for Trenin because what he brings to the table is so unique, especially within the context of the Predators and the team identity they want to have. According to Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio, at some point, Kamara expects a six-game suspension from the NFL. "Per a league source, Saints running back Alvin Kamara is bracing for a suspension of at least six weeks," Florio wrote.
