Ole Miss baseball players and coaches reacted to finally making it to the College World Series after going "to Hell and back" this season.

For Elko, someone who grew up watching the College World Series, getting to end his career where he is is one of the ultimate joys. Notre Dame won on the road for two straight weekends, and it will not fear one of the top pitchers in the country. A best-of-three series will decide the NCAA champion. Big 12 rival Oklahoma plays Texas A&M in the opener. Stanford ended up as the only non-SEC squad in its portion of the bracket. The Notre Dame Fighting Irish and Oklahoma Sooners fill the non-SEC category. Notre Dame isn’t going to be seen as the team with the most talent of the eight playing in Omaha the next few weeks but they might be the best. This is a very veteran group who came within one game of the College World Series last year, ultimately falling in the Super Regional to Mississippi State who won the whole tournament. I’ll give credit to the Notre Dame pitching staff because they had some great stuff as Texas just wasn’t able to get a whole lot going as they didn’t get a single extra base hit in nine innings. Arkansas Razorbacks baseball will play No. 2-seed Stanford in its first game at the 2022 College World Series on Saturday.

Auburn couldn’t make anything out of that rare opportunity against DeLucia, who previously faced the Tigers in a 3 1/3-inning relief appearance back during the opening weekend of SEC play.
