Join us for all the games, announcements, and awkward celebrity cameos from Summer Game Fest 2022 - as they happen.
They just arrived via speed-boat to some big oil platform, and now they be shooting away. Yep, this all looks very impressive, as expected. Ooh, I like the tipping platform that they're all fighting on. Oh, it's Routine! Yep, it's a survival horror game, and it's been in the works for ten years. Now here's The Rock, dialling in from a gym and plugging... Glad there was still some mention of it, and the situation surrounding it. We're getting a snippet of boss fight gameplay here, and it looks as delightful and creative and crazy as the first. I love Humankind, I think it's a fantastic 4X. And it looks like they're adding a new culture for each of the six eras to choose from. Lots of shooting and slicing and dodging to the beat of lots of great metal music. Here's a new look at the survival crafting game from Inflexion Games, a studio of ex-BioWare devs. They'll be cameoing on the show. Myself and Ollie will be operating the liveblog levers as it all kicks off tonight, June 9th, from 7pm BST / 2pm ET / 11am PT.

Game Fest host Geoff Keighley has tried to set expectations for the show this year, saying it won’t be filled with “megaton shocks” and will involve mostly known titles. “We’ve got a couple of new game announcements in the show and hopefully some surprises if everything holds. Summer Game Fest isn’t quite E3 — which was unceremoniously canceled earlier this year.
Day one of Summer Game Fest promises "meaningful updates on games.” Netflix, Tribeca and Xbox showcases are scheduled for later in the week.

Keighley is best known for hosting and producing The Game Awards every December, and he also heads up Gamescom's Opening Night Live. Because E3 is canceled, ...
As noted above, Day of the Devs will return and is taking place immediately after the end of Summer Game Fest Live. It's produced by Double Fine and iam8bit, and while we don't know much, it's often been a platform to showcase some exciting indie games. It also isn't unusual for a game company to formally announce a game days or weeks before the event to tease a trailer premiere during Summer Game Fest or The Game Awards. So we may get a better idea of the line-up as we approach the date in June. In fact, that has now happened, as new footage of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II is confirmed to appear during the event. We'll also have pre- and post-shows previewing what to expect and recapping all of the biggest announcements. Our pre-show here on GameSpot will begin half an hour earlier, at 10:30 AM PT. It begins at 11 AM PT / 2 PM ET, and you can see more regional times below. Here's how to watch it.
We don't have E3 this year, so we're pinning all of our video game dreams on Summer Games Fest, AKA Keigh3, the Geoff Keighley led video games showcase.
Honestly though, The Rock is lame now, I'm just gonna say it. His Instagram is the worst and this segment is The Rock's insta gone into overdrive.

Summer Game Fest 2022 promises a ton of big game announcements for your PS5, Xbox, PC, Switch and more. We'll be following all the action live so you don't ...
2:07 pm: Up next is our first look at live gameplay from The Callisto Protocol, another moody horror-action game from the creator of EA’s beloved Dead Space. The action looks incredibly visceral and immersive, with plenty of jump scares and no shortage of gore to spare. 2:57 pm: Time for a new look at Marvel: Midnight Suns! The comic-inspired tactics game is getting some new faces, with beloved web slingers Spider-Man and Venom joining the likes of Wolverine, Blade and Ghost Rider. Spidey’s new suit looks pretty snazzy, too. And if you’re still playing the popular battle royale Call of Duty: Warzone, you can expect plenty of new content to arrive alongside the new Modern Warfare game. 3:27 pm: The Quarry is the latest cinematic, choose-your-own-adventure horror game from the folks behind Until Dawn, and we’re getting a new launch trailer ahead of its June 10 release. An expansion to the beloved 2D platformer known for its breathtaking hand-drawn animation (and brutal difficulty), The Delicious Last Course introduces a new playable character in Ms. Chalice and a brand new island to explore. 3:16 pm: We got a cinematic trailer for Super People, one of the many online shooters coming this year. Made by the folks behind the wildly popular Genshin Impact, Honkai Starrail is a gorgeous looking role-playing game with some cool-looking characters and a really vibrant color palette. This is a full remake of the original 2013 title built specifically for PS5 and PC, with stunning new visuals that bring it up to speed with 2020’s The Last of Us Part 2. It’s card-based combat system looks interesting, and its cartoony setting is a nice breath of fresh air from the normally grim games in the genre. Layers of Fears continues the popular Layers of Fear franchise, thrusting you into a trippy and spooky first-person adventure that I’m getting anxious just looking at this short clip of. 3:39 pm: Get your batsuit on - it’s time for Gotham Knights! A co-op action game set in a world where Batman is dead, Knights has you play as Batgirl, Red Hood, Robin and Nightwing as you uncover the truth behind Bruce Wayne’s murder. We got a new still of Pedro Pascal (Joel) and Bella Ramsey (Ellie) set in one of the game’s iconic locations.
Summer Game Fest 2022 is here and promises to deliver exciting game announcements and reveals. We've got the latest and most exciting news from Geoff ...
As leaked earlier, we have a "reveal" for The Last of Us Remake. This one was built from the ground up for PS5 and looks phenomenal. The original Joel and Ellie, Troy Baker and Ashley Johnson (respectively) will play a part of The Last of Us TV series. A public beta will happen in 2023 but hopefully, we'll see more footage before then. The game director also discussed The Last of Us TV series and how it feels similar to the video game. One of the games of the Summer - @Outriders Worldslayer is out June 30! The latter is a brand-new game from an indie studio, which is pretty cool! It will be fun to play as him again in the upcoming game. I have to assume we'll see game developers and industry folks pop up at one point or another. Congrats to you and the team for all the work to put the show together. These aren't all the games we'll see today, but they give us a good idea of what to expect. We expect to see reveals of previously announced games, but there's a chance we'll also see brand-new world premieres. While Summer Game Fest 2022 had its fair share of commercials (did we really need to see a trailer for Black Adam during a games show?), the ads didn't feel as blatant as they have in years past.
Keigh3 started with Call of Duty gameplay and a ton of release dates.
The game itself was initially supposed to come out in February but was delayed to August. The game is called Layers of Fears. It’s being made in Unreal 5. Nightingale is a co-op role-playing game with time travel elements set in a fantasy realm decked out in Victorian affectations. The Saints Row reboot, first announced last year, is getting a demo...for its character creator. Bloober Team, the folks behind last year’s polarizing The Medium, have a another psychological horror game in the pipeline. Bandai Namco showed off more gameplay for One Piece Odyssey, its turn-based RPG based on one of the most popular manga series of all time. The PS5 version, called The Last of Us Part I, is out September 2, 2022. Highwater, from Rogue Games, is a strategy game set in the future, on a version of Earth mostly submerged by water. Naughty Dog’s Neil Druckmann, rocking a new short haircut and a shirt that I’m 90% sure I own (from J. Crew), announced a standalone multiplayer game in the Last of Us universe. It’s rare for these sorts of events, but yes, we saw one game that had a vivid color palette. It’s set in the afterlife and is designed for speedrunning, marrying tight platforming and Doom-style first-person shooting with dating sim mechanics. Over the course of a streamed event that ran for two hours but felt like 2o, host Geoff Keighley ran through more trailers than an AMC pre-show.

Naughty Dog’s big news actually leaked before Summer Game Fest: it’s releasing a remake of The Last of Us Part I for PlayStation 5 on September 2nd, and a version for PC is in development. Now it’s got a new trailer, which lists it as coming to PC, Xbox Series X and S, Xbox One, and Xbox Game Pass at an unknown date. Frost Giant Studios was founded by former Blizzard developers, including veterans from the StarCraft and Warcraft real-time strategy series, and just revealed its first title: a sci-fi-plus-demons RTS called Stormgate. Stormgate is supposed to “stay true” to the classic RTS formula. The sequel is being developed by French studio Microids, and it’s apparently coming to current- and next-gen PlayStation and Xbox consoles, Steam, and Nintendo Switch in winter of 2022. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II is months away from its October 28th release, and Summer Game Fest cast a little more light on what we’ll find there, showing a full playthrough of a level. The game is scheduled for release on current- and next-generation PlayStation and Xbox consoles, plus PC, in 2023.

The Summer's first big gaming event just dropped plethora of new trailers, here's what was revealed at the show.
Here's everything announced at the Summer Game Fest 2022 – from that brand new look at Street Fighter 6 in the broadcast's opening minutes to the impressive ...
A new showing of Gotham Knights gave us a more extended look at Nightwing, Batman's original Robin gone solo, Dick Grayson. In the gameplay on show we see more of Nightwing's fighting style - a mix of breakdancing and hitting people with sticks, as well as his specific form or aerial movement to speed across the rooftops - a miniature batwing that teleports in like a Fortnite glider. It's packed with characters from the long-running One Piece manga and anime - now stranded on a mysterious island - and the signature style of Eiichiro Oda has been applied to every last inch of the game's world. Tribute Games and Dotemu showed up at the Summer Game Fest to reveal a brand new slice of gameplay for its highly anticipated beat 'em up, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge. There were some radical pieces of news in the new trailer. As mysterious as it appears dangerous, the world of Nightingale looks gorgeous – a world that's being crafted by former Mass Effect devs who hope to conquer the survival genre with better world-building. The trailer gives you a good glimpse at what the upcoming game’s moment-to-moment gameplay feels like, with a cast of anime and sometimes animalistic characters taking turns to hack and slash their way through mechs as they dodge attacks. The presentation started off by looking like a recut of the iconic trailer for the long-MIA Dead Island 2 – which just so happens to have one of the greatest announcement trailers of all-time. This one looks like it's going to be a lot of fun, and we're desperate to get our hands on it. Between the showcase's bigger reveals, we saw the next step for People Can Fly's Outriders – a new slice of DLC named Worldslayer. Set in a frozen, icy area, it appears that a rift in the world is transforming its inhabitants in new ways which, as you might expect, results in a lot of chaos and violence. Of all the announced games that could have shown up in the Summer Game Fest, you'd have never ever have guessed this one. Developer The Astronauts is promising that Witchfire will feature no cutscenes, and will instead route its action through a constant and demanding stream of enemies. The originally named Flashback 2 will feature on all consoles, as per its Summer Game Fest showing, and looks to continue the first game's themes of sci-fi platforming, this time, somewhat expectedly, in 3D. Teased via a stylish cinematic set against footage of the original game, we weren't shown too much – but the very fact the series is being picked back up over three decades is interesting in itself. Titled Alien: Dark Descent, it's a squad-based, single-player action game that will task you with leading a group of soldiers, in real-time, through a terrifying Xenomorph outbreak on Moon Lethe. We'll need to lead strategically and act aggressively to survive Aliens: Dark Descent when it launches on PC and console in 2023.
From a stand-alone 'Last of Us' multiplayer game to the return of playable demos, the June video game conference offered some surprises for hard-core ...
And the early footage in the trailer was a virtual clone of the first trailer for Dead Island 2 from 2014. But all of a sudden, it took a very, very odd (and funny) turn. Keighley set it up as the trailer for a game we’d been waiting to hear about for a long while. The developer behind The Last of Us and Uncharted was on hand to discuss a remake of the original Last of Us for the PlayStation 5 and the upcoming HBO series based on the postapocalyptic game. (And we’ve all learned by now that a flashy trailer doesn’t mean a good game.) But French developer Microids (who made the Syberia series) showed off a makeover of the original game, dubbed Flashback 2, emphasizing the cyberpunk Prince of Persia vibes.
Geoff's Keighley's E3 replacement, Summer Game Fest, took place last night and we saw brand new trailers for a bunch of video games you can get excited ...
The new trailer showcased Spider-Man for the first time, who is always a fan favorite, and we finally have a release date. This will take full advantage of the PS5’s hardware, in addition to bringing all animations and mechanics up to par with The Last of Us Part II’s complicated physics and movement systems. This announcement comes along with confirmation of The Last of Us‘ standalone multiplayer game.
In case you missed it, here are all the Summer Game Fest 2022 announcements and everything showcased at the event for PlayStation.
- We thought it was Dead Island 2. But it was actuallyGoat Simulator 3. As usual, we’ve got a bullet-point summary of the event for our readers so without further ado, let’s jump in!
