Cooper Kupp 'guided by His spirit' as he signs extension with L.A. ... (sportsspectrum.com)

Los Angeles Rams receiver Cooper Kupp praised God after signing a contract extension. "God is good. On the mountains and in the valleys."

The Rams went 12-5 in the regular season and won the NFC West to secure their spot in the playoffs. … My motivation coming in to every single day is to run the race in such a way as to honor God with the passions and the talents that He’s given me. Now with his new contract extension, Kupp hopes to replicate last season’s on-field success for years to come. Kupp won the receiving triple crown with 145 catches for 1,947 yards and 16 touchdowns during his incredible 2021-2022 regular season, leading the league in each of those categories. On the mountains and in the valleys, He has been with us every step of the way,” Kupp’s post said in part. Kupp is now under contract for the next five seasons.

You can read Kupp’s message below as he thanked the Rams for making his “childhood vision a reality” on draft day and then continuing their belief in him with this contract.

Oh, and more Metcalf relevant given they’re from the same draft class, A.J. Brown was dealt to the Tennessee Titans and his contract with the Philadelphia Eagles nets him an average of $25 million per year. The team released RFA LB Travin Howard -- and his $2.54M salary -- earlier today to create room for the Cooper Kupp extension. Why the Rams' huge Cooper Kupp raise might actually be a bargain ... (For The Win)

The reigning Super Bowl MVP gets a deserved Brinks truck worth of cash.

Kupp is the sixth-highest paid player at his position and is in line to continue being the most productive. Even with his extreme lion’s share of the targets, Kupp didn’t dip in productivity. The Rams threw the ball almost 200 times to one player — successfully, I might add — when they also had Odell Beckham Jr., Robert Woods (for half a season, anyway), and Van Jefferson. If there were such a thing as a “workhorse receiver,” the way there used to be workhorse runningbacks, then Kupp would be the poster boy. I know, it’s $75 million — the fortune of a lifetime and enough money to buy a small island and become a supervillain. On Wednesday night, the Rams gave Kupp a three-year, $75 million extension. When the Rams drafted Cooper Kupp back in 2017, they clearly believed in his ability.

His marks for catches and yards are each the second-most in NFL history. It was literally the exact same play, but it was like, ‘This guy has something that is different.’ “That was the first time where I went back, I felt what he had done – I’m like, ‘I think he might’ve just no-looked that one’ – and I went back and watched it on film and seeing him manipulate people underneath and do what he did with his eyes and being able to throw the ball that he did, it was literally on the exact same play that he no-looked in the Super Bowl when he had that great one on that last drive.

Super Bowl MVP, Yakima native Cooper Kupp gets contract ... (Q13 FOX (Seattle))

Super Bowl MVP, and Yakima, Washington local, Cooper Kupp agreed to a three-year contract extension with the Los Angeles Rams on Wednesday.

Snead also reached long-term commitments with Donald, Kupp and Stafford, who agreed to a four-year extension through the 2026 season that could be worth $160 million. Los Angeles lost a few key players to free agency after winning the franchise’s championship in 22 years, but managed to add linebacker Bobby Wagner and receiver Allen Robinson as free agents. Kupp’s new extension is worth $75 million guaranteed, and it brings his total deal to $110 million through 2026 when adding the two years remaining on his first extension, which was signed in September 2020.

"And certainly he's one of those people that's had a hand in being able to be in this place and have the opportunity to be able to extend my career here in Los Angeles and be able to sign that contract. "We come in year after year, and it's clear the organization has put itself and all of its players in a position to be able to go out and achieve that," Kupp said. "I thought it was kind of a cool thing," Kupp said. So we've got a lot of guys who take the right approach mentally to be the best versions of themselves first and let the business side of things kind of work themselves out." He also caught two touchdowns in Super Bowl LVI and was named MVP of the game. I'm not naive to that, understanding that across this league there's certain things that play out.
