Tornadoes are possible in and near the watch area. Move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building. The watch area is typically large, covering numerous counties or even states. "We recommend that if a storm is approaching and you hear thunder, then take cover to be proactive today." - Tornado Warning: Take Action. A tornado has been sighted or indicated by weather radar. "Be ready in the event something does happen." Tornado warnings are issued for a much smaller area."
