Johnson gets the nod tonight with a chance to perform. Sebastian Coates is the one to come on as the U.S. has a corner. The rest is as expected, with Sean Johnson in goal and Ethan Horvath backing him up. The corner is the absolute weirdest, eventually filtering out to Tim Weah on the far side who's dispossessed, leading Uruguay to a dangerous counter that ends in a terrible cross. In the space behind,a fabulous cross from Caceres to the feet of a streaking Darwin Nunez goes begging, as the young star can't get a flying foot to it. It's a horror throw-in by the U.S. that results in a two-on-one chance, run by Caceres, but his feed to Nunez was poor, behind the young striker, and the chance evaporates. On a breakaway, Darwin Nunez had the goal GAPING, and instead of shooting with just Johnson to beat, he inexplicably tried to square it to Edinson Cavani. The pass bobbled to Cavani, and the legendary striker somehow put it wide. Sean Johnson made key saves in goal, including a world class stop on Nunez from point-blank range in the second half.

It's been a long time coming but this is quite the opportunity for Scally as the backup left back job is wide open. A good start for Yedlin keeping track of his man but Musah already ended up on the ground after trying to charge into midfield. Nunez has been a thorn in everyone's side as this time he picks off Zimmerman but his pass to set up the attack wasn't good enough. The USMNT are holding on as Yedlin made a clearance off the line. The United States will need to capitalize on mistakes from Uruguay as there won't be many. With the half coming, this has been a mostly positive shift for the United States. Didn't have enough time to really make a difference as he spent about five minutes waiting to come into the match. Not a great match going forward for Yedlin but on another day, his fine cross into the box ends in a goal. It's tough to see Johnson starting in Qatar but he did make a case for making the trip. The Chelsea man created four chances and was only dispossessed once in the match but only got one shot off. Gregg Berhalter will be happy to end the team's Nations League tune-up matches with a win and a draw after having beaten Morocco before this match, but none of the key questions have been answered.
