Challenging offseason decisions loom ahead for the St. Louis Blues (fox2now.com)

ST. LOUIS – A last-second stunner marked the end of the St. Louis Blues season Friday night. The Colorado Avalanche scored a game-winning goal with 5.6 ...

What's Next for the St. Louis Blues After Losing Out to the Avalanche? (Yardbarker)

A tight series that went six games, the St. Louis Blues are now officially out of the 2022 Stanley Cup Playoffs with the Colorado Avalanche moving on to ...

If the dollars are equal, and I believe Calgary will pony up, then he has a decent shot to remain a Flame. If not, I think Gaudreau will be playing south of the 49th. Fortunately for Ekman-Larsson and the Canucks, the recovery time for this injury is four to six weeks. And in all likelihood, Gaudreau’s next contract would outlive Sutter’s time with the Flames. But I think what it boils down to is this: Gaudreau is coming off the best year of his career on a very competitive team. I’ve written a couple of times already this year on how difficult it will be for the Flames to keep this group together, with RFAs Matthew Tkachuk, Andrew Mangiapane and Oliver Kylington to be signed in addition to Gaudreau. It will be a monumental task to fit all of their weapons in under the cap, but unless Johnny wants to leave or prioritizes money above all else, I think he and the organization find a way to keep him in Flames colors. He is such a talented player and he’s shouldered the burden of Calgary’s playoff disappointments, some of which have been deserved, some of which have not. The two sides agreed to put off talks long ago, and my feeling is Gaudreau has come this far and shouldered all of the risk playing out a contract year, that it only makes sense for him to get a feel for the market before deciding. The Houston Astros look to rebound from Friday's 6-1 loss to the Seattle Mariners tonight in Seattle. Houston is 10 games up on the Mariners in the division, so losing games to them is unexpected and shouldn't happen all that frequently. Back Milwaukee to improve to 13-6 in their last 19 on the road. The New York Mets have had a fantastic start to the 2022 season and they’ve done it without Jacob deGrom in their rotation. He didn't give up more than a single run in any of those starts and hurled a complete-game shutout back in September. Somehow, that guy is even money against a rookie who gave up seven hits and four runs to the Pirates last week? Ville Husso has the makings of a legitimate starter in the NHL. He might have lost out to Binnington in these playoffs and only gotten another shot because of an injury but he’s quickly becoming a goaltender teams are taking notice of. If he does want to go, he had a fantastic season and only has one more season at a $7.5 million cap.

Why the Blues should trade Colton Parayko (and also why it's unlikely) (St. Louis Game Time)

The exact same saying I applied to the much better defenseman, Jay Bouwmeester, applies more succinctly to the tall drink of anti-Ivan Drago water that ...

In 22 minutes on the ice, he was a -1 and spent two minutes in the box. But he should be traded, and a good haul could be had at the moment. Fact. Thanks for reading and tip your writer with a share if you don’t hate the commentary. The Blues won’t win another cup with Parayko eating 22-25 minutes per game. You could recoup some of the lost minutes in the deal, but St. Louis would be wise to replace Parayko in a separate signing. He’s weak, soft, harmless, and still unsure of what kind of defenseman he wants to be. Petro also did that, and the Blues let him walk to the desert. The most goals he’s ever scored in a season is 10. With his team back against the wall in a closely contested game that barely moved from a one-goal deficit or lead, he turned in the worst performance of his career. Ten times where Parayko just felt like handing the puck over to the opposition. Just about everyone else on defense can perform the job better than Parayko, who likes being a statue in his own end. Before I break down why this is the main reason he most likely WON’T be traded anytime soon, let’s get into his 2021-22 season.
