Actor Ewan McGregor wants the six-episode limited Disney+ "Star Wars" series "Obi-Wan Kenobi" to get a season 2.
“I had such a great time working with Deb, and the actors that we had in this were so great to work with, and the crew are just… “With these things, we always think of it as a complete story with the beginning and a middle and an end,” he explained. “It’s nice to know that by all of our efforts in making this Obi-Wan Kenobi series, the fans are going to be stoked. “It was so wonderful to work on. If we were to decide to do anything more with the Obi-Wan character, we’d have to really answer the question why?” Director Deborah Chow also told the outlet, “It was definitely conceived as a limited series and it is one big story with a beginning, middle, and end.
Speaking with Collider at Star Wars Celebration, Ewan McGregor said that he rewatched the prequel movies in preparation to return as Obi-Wan Kenobi.
With the first two episodes streaming now, fans of the two of them will not have to wait long before seeing them grace their screens as the iconic duo once more — though, granted, on opposite sides of the conflict this time. Naturally, the man of the hour himself, Ewan McGregor was also there, greeted at every opportunity by enthusiastic cheers from fans. The first episode of the upcoming series, Obi-Wan Kenobi, is coming out tomorrow, May 27. The Disney+ series, Obi-Wan Kenobi is a Star War spin-off. He also added, “It’s always been my mission to make my Obi-Wan Kenobi grow up into Alec Guinness, so I’ve always got Alec in my head.” McGregor said that he studied Guinness’s performance as Obi-wan to play the younger version.

McGregor continued: "The sequels were easier to watch because they were a fantasy again for me. "I continued to love the 'Star Wars' universe and as the sequels were being made, I was happy," the actor said. The prequel trilogy received mixed reviews from critics at the time but has since received a lot of support from fans who grew up with the movies.

So for the actor, it makes a big difference for us cause it makes us feel like we’re in the environment that we are trying to portray. We can build the worlds that we can actually stand in and feel their presence, and we can shoot against them. You see the crew rise to do their best work for her, and that’s a great sign of a great director. We can’t build some of the worlds that we see in Star Wars. It would be impossible because it’s a different galaxy. This is a very different time, and I think it’s quite a dark period of time. It’s a different side of the character and one McGregor seemed excited to dig into when he sat down for a junket interview with Complex recently.
