Given Poppe’s leanings toward rootsy folk-pop, this Mumford & Sons-esque foot-tapper is one of the more palatable “Idol” offerings in recent seasons. Every season of “American Idol” – Season 20 wraps Sunday (8 p.m. EDT/PDT) – culminates with the winner shakily singing center stage while trying to control a kaleidoscope of emotions. His voice resembles John Mayer's, but his personal rock-influenced touch makes him one of a kind. For most Redditors, the singer is always on the list of all times favorites, and his undeniable vocal talent has ranked him as one of the best American Idol winners of all time. In addition to that, as muddybrookrambler added, Taylor Hicks "managed to get a unique (for Idol) song on the show!"
