Residents are encouraged to drink plenty of fluids and stay in an air-conditioned room. In addition to tornadoes, hail and wind gusts of up to 70 mph are possible Friday afternoon, according to the National Weather Service. Scattered thunderstorms are also possible during that time. The weather service issued the severe thunderstorm warning for Central Bucks at 3 p.m. It will remain under the warning until 3:45 p.m.

In New Jersey, more than a dozen counties should be on the lookout for extreme weather. The storms are only expected to bring some rain and wind to the New York metro area. In addition to the threat of tornadoes, the watch includes the possibility of hail up to two inches in diameter and high winds of up to 70 miles per hour.
