Tampa Bay Lightning: 3 bold predictions vs. Panthers in 2022 NHL ... (ClutchPoints)

Here are a few bold predictions for the Tampa Bay Lightning vs. the Florida Panthers in the second round of the NHL Playoffs.

The Lightning have some of the most experienced playoff performers in the league on their roster, and they’ll lean heavily upon them in the series against the Panthers. Nikita Kucherov could be the team’s X-factor in the series and will likely look to be assertive offensively in order to give Tampa an edge. Tampa Bay needed seven games to get past the Maple Leafs, but they’ll be entering this series on a high after winning in back-to-back elimination games. One area the Tampa Bay Lightning will have the advantage in this series is in goal. The Tampa Bay Lightning managed to keep the dream of a three-peat alive after winning back-to-back elimination games against the Toronto Maple Leafs in the first round. When the team needed him most, Vasilevskiy was impenetrable, surrendering a total of four goals in the final two elimination games. Without further ado, here are our bold predictions for the Lightning against the Panthers.

Lightning-Panthers: It's time for the Sunshine State Series, Round 2 (Tampa Bay Times)

The cross-state rivals will meet again in the postseason after a tight six-game series in the first round last year.

He tried to return in the second period but couldn’t skate without pain, and he sat on the bench for the rest of the game. You beat a team like Toronto, a top-five team in the league, and then you get the best team in the regular season now in the second round. We had another unbelievable series this year (in the first round). You can’t let the emotions of this series get you. “That was one heck of a series last year in the first round. Former Lightning forward Carter Verhaeghe had 12 points in the series, including the winning goal in each of the last three games. I think last year that many people said that might have been the (best) series of the playoffs.”

Tampa Bay Lightning Quest For A Three-Peat Stays Alive (Yardbarker)

The Tampa Bay Lightning knew it was not going to be easy. Nothing ever is when it comes to winning the Stanley Cup. Doing it once is hard enough.

That was in the beginning of the first round one of the first punches, I don’t see anything in the first round in this eye. Leafs Game 7 Odds Here are the odds for Game 7, courtesy of WynnBET Sportsbook. Moneyline: Lightning +105 Maple Leafs -125 Puck line: Lightning +1.5 (-250) Maple Leafs -1.5 (+200) Total: 6.5 (Over -110/Under -110) The Lightning Will Defeat the Maple Leafs in Game 7 Everything is working against the Maple Leafs in Game 7, and the curse will continue this season. On the topic of Rivers, Morey said "yes" when asked if he could guarantee the veteran coach would be back with the team next season, later adding, "I think he's a great coach and I love working with him." The win keeps alive Liverpool's hopes to accomplish the first ever English quadruple (winning the EFL Cup, FA Cup, Premier League, and Champions League). Liverpool beat Chelsea in penalties in the EFL Cup final in February and is set to meet Real Madrid in the Champions League final later this month. His full name is actually General Axel Booty. “Obviously my name’s an attention-grabber and people like to do headlines with it, but I like to show people with my play that I can back it up, too,” General said in a 2020 article for The Dallas Morning News. “I have done that, I’m going to continue to do that as well, and give them a reason to remember my name.” Booty’s name should be very familiar to college football fans due to his lineage. Note: The Lightning improved their record following a loss in the Stanley Cup Playoffs to 17-0. Yes, the Lightning have all this great skill and talent, but it does not mean anything if they do not buy into the team mentality and that was on display in Game 7. However, there are more optimistic reports that Middleton could return for the conference finals if the Bucks can win Game 7 against the Celtics on Sunday. The three-time All-Star averaged 20.1 points, 5.4 rebounds and 5.4 assists per game for the Bucks in 66 appearances. Toronto had many chances in the third period of Game 6 and the overtime period. Every team in this era has come up short and it has been the second round that has done them in. Even down the stretch and through the first six games of the series the Lightning did not look like themselves. For the first time in these playoffs, the defending champions looked like the champs of old.

Lightning vs. Panthers - Game Preview - May 17, 2022 - ESPN (ESPN)

BOTTOM LINE: The Florida Panthers host the Tampa Bay Lightning to start the Eastern Conference first round. The teams meet Sunday for the sixth time this season ...

South Florida is the only market left with teams in the NBA and NHL playoffs. “That was one heck of a series last year in the first round.” Fans will have to choose who they want to see over the next week or two. Florida is at the bottom of that chart. The Panthers are coming off their first series win in 26 years, beating Washington in six games, and now have a shot at avenging last season’s playoff loss. Florida needed three goalies in its series last year. Florida has 75 wins, Tampa Bay 71, and they tied 10 times when ties were still a thing. Tampa Bay needed six games to oust the Panthers a year ago in Round 1. They retooled their team and brought some big names in there and it should be a ton of fun.” I think people, especially in Florida, have been begging for the two teams to be contenders and go at it. “Florida is a hell of a team,” Tampa Bay coach Jon Cooper said. The Presidents’ Trophy winners on the other.

These 5 Panthers players could pose trouble for the Lightning (Tampa Bay Times)

Seven of his 30 points came against the Capitals. The 34-year-old NHL veteran of 15 years had spent his entire career in Philadelphia without winning the Cup before getting traded to Florida on March 19. This year against the Capitals, Washington’s Alex Ovechkin delivered a hit on him in the first minute of play in Game 6, which sent him down the tunnel for evaluation. In the first round against the Capitals, he had one goal and four assists. Interim coach Andrew Brunette expects him to be available for Game 1 against the Lightning. Of note: Huberdeau was kept off the score sheet just 13 times in the regular season. Playing in the postseason, he has shown he’s still an asset. The former Lightning forward, 26, left his mark all over the series with the Capitals, setting multiple franchise playoff records. He scored 30 goals — which matched his career high from 2018-19 — playing in 80 games. Barkov understands better than most how much this opportunity means to the franchise. The Panthers feel more prepared for the rematch. We’re up to the challenge.”
