New York Jets' Zach Wilson uses offseason to build body and ... (ESPN)

Wilson has been busy transforming his body -- by diet and in the weight room -- showing he wants to improve after an underwhelming rookie year.

He also reveals how his friendship with Bill Parcells, whom he considered a mentor, was ruined when Parcells, in a 2008 letter to the NFL office, accused Westhoff of violating league rules. Westhoff has nice things to say about each of his former bosses, although he manages to unleash a few haymakers at former coaches Herm Edwards and Eric Mangini. He saves his harshest words for former GM Terry Bradway, who "was not my favorite. He was the Jets' special teams coach from 2001 to 2012, an X's-and-O's whiz who never shied away from speaking his mind. His chapters on his time with the Jets, which included six playoff seasons and some embarrassing lows, is particularly intriguing. 4. Pricey D: If the defense stinks again this year it won't be because the front office refused to invest money on that side of the ball. He was arrested last August on charges that included unlawful carrying of a weapon, resulting in a one-game suspension. On the field, you might say he's wired a bit differently than most. On pass attempts between 1 to 10 yards, he completed a league-low 62% -- 10% below the NFL average, per ESPN Stats & Information research. If he can get to average, which computes to about two more completions per game, the offense will be in a better place. He tried to gain weight in the past, getting as high as 218, but didn't feel comfortable from an athletic standpoint. Maybe he went down to Miami and the [players who train there] got him right. Listed at 6-foot-2, 214 pounds, Wilson never will be confused with Josh Allen (6-foot-5) or Justin Herbert (6-foot-6), which is why his goal was to add weight -- shock absorber for the weekly pounding.

Ex-Jets Scout Evaluates New York's 2022 Schedule (Sports Illustrated)

This former New York Jets scout made a bold statement about the New York Jets and QB Zach Wilson while evaluating the Jets' schedule for the 2022 NFL ...

I’ve been banging on my keyboard for the Jets to improve their anemic pass rush since last November. I’ve been begging in articles for Kayvon Thibodeaux, Aidan Hutchinson, Devin Lloyd, Cameron Thomas, Arnold Ebiketie, Myjai Sanders, Logan Hall, Perrion Winfrey and Danielle Hunter. Someone, anyone who can get to the QB. Alas, instead Douglas gets edge rushers Jacob Martin and Jermaine Johnson, two guys who I think are duds. Back when I was with the Jets and Bill Parcells was there, the team was turned around in two seasons. It is also asking a lot from running back Breece Hall and wide receiver Garrett Wilson, who are also both rookies. As I have been saying all along, today’s game comes down to being able to pass the ball and stop the pass and a lot of it comes down to matchups. One thing is for certain, we will find out what this team is made of. New York went from being the worst team in the league in '96 (1-15) to winning the AFC East and going all the the way to the AFC Championship Game in ‘98 (12-4).

New York Jets Flight Connections 05/15/22 (Gang Green Nation)

Good morning, Gang Green Nation! Another day, another "The Jets should totally trade Corey Davis" article. Sigh. It's not happening. The Jets aren't trading ...

So, assuming Davis returns to form in 2022, cutting him after 2022 would not only not be worth the $10 million in cap savings, it would also cost the Jets a potential draft pick. If Davis returns to form in 2022, his performance will be worth more to the Jets in the current market for starting wide receivers than the potential $10 Million in cap savings. But barring that, the Jets aren’t trading Davis.
