DeVonta Smith Jokes About Being Fired After Sixers Jumbotron Error (PEOPLE.com)

The Philadelphia Eagles player laughed the mistake off with fans on social media.

"Eagles in the house," Clark, who covers both Philadelphia teams, wrote on Twitter. Smith delivered an inspiring message in his acceptance speech for the award. I've been doubted a lot just because of my size, and really it just comes down to you put your mind to it, you can do it," he said.

Eagles' DeVonta Smith still on team despite arena graphic calling ... (lehighvalleylive.com)

Eagles wide receiver Devonta Smith was watching a Sixers game when a graphic on the Jumbotron said that he was no longer with the team.

During a break in the game, a camera was placed on Smith to acknowledge that he was inside the Wells Fargo Center. Smith was targeted 104 times in his rookie season, catching 64 passes for 916 yards and five touchdowns. The issue was that a graphic with the words “Former Philadelphia Eagle” showed up under it.

Free Agents Eagles Should Pursue After 2022 NFL Draft (Bleacher Report)

The Philadelphia Eagles may have used only five picks in the 2022 NFL draft, but they still addressed some of the biggest holes on their roster...

Not only do the Eagles not have an every-down back on their roster, but they didn't add any depth at the position during the draft. But there could still be a spot available for Jordan Howard, who could again serve as a power back in the Eagles' RB mix. Then, he was limited to five games for the Cincinnati Bengals in 2021, when he missed substantial time because of a hamstring injury. Sure. But if he's willing to sign a low-cost, prove-it deal to show that he can return to form, then it would make sense for a team to bring him in. It was a bit of a surprise that Philadelphia didn't take a cornerback during the 2022 NFL draft. And of course, they swung one blockbuster trade that could take their offense to another level during the upcoming season.

The series now heads back to Miami for Game 5. The Eagles acquired A.J. Brown in a trade with Tennessee this offseason. The good news for the second-year wideout is he should actually get more opportunities this upcoming season.

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeVonta Smith had a brilliant response on Twitter after an error involving him at the Philadelphia 76ers game.

You just have to wonder whether or not any punishment would have come the way of the big screen operator in Philadelphia, and whether or not they added a ‘former’ to their title at some point over the weekend as well. But when that does happen, the very least you would expect is for them to know where you’re from and what you do, but Smith fell victim to a very minor error, as the screen at the Wells Fargo Center incorrectly claimed he wasn’t an Eagle anymore: On top of that, they also took part in arguably one of the bigger stories away from the draft, which was their acquisition of A.J Brown from the Tennessee Titans in exchange for a first and a third-round pick on the night.

The Titans selected Brown in the second round of the 2019 NFL Draft with the No. 51 overall pick. Brown was a 247Sports Composite four-star recruit and the No. 4 overall receiver in the Class of 2016 out of Starkville (Miss.) High. I’m going to do my part and try to just bring what I bring to the table. Smith finished with 64 catches for 916 yards (14.3 average) and five touchdowns in 17 regular-season games. The graphics at least said Smith was an Eagle. However, it said “former Philadelphia Eagle.” This time, Smith was shown but there was an interesting description of the star wide receiver.

There’s an expectation that the 34-year-old is playing his last season ... but is that DEFINITELY the case? 3 - Jack Anderson 1 - Jason Kelce 3 - Jack Driscoll Clark is the top backup option behind Johnson and could be the full on swing tackle if/when Dillard gets dealt. JJAW moving from wide receiver to tight end should hardly have anyone believing his career is saved when he basically was already playing as a tight end last year. 2 - Jack Stoll 3 - Grant Calcaterra Gainwell figures to see a bigger role in Year 2, especially as a third-down back. Minshew is the QB2 unless some team blows the Eagles away with a trade offer. 1 - Jalen Hurts Free agency and the NFL Draft are behind us so let’s take a look at how the Philadelphia Eagles’ 2022 projected depth chart is coming together.
