As a result, Oliveira has been stripped of the title and he will be ineligible to win the belt back on Saturday; however, Gaethje can win the belt if he were to win the fight. Esparza defeated Namajunas in their first meeting, submitting her in the third round with a rear naked choke to become the first UFC women’s strawweight champion. It will be a rematch between Rose Namajunas and Carla Esparza. These two first met very early in their career’s at the TUF 20 Finale where they faced each other for the inaugural woman’s strawweight championship.
