Jean-Pierre will be the first Black press secretary in history and the first openly gay one too.

Psaki’s departure from the White House has been expected for months. She entered the job intent on restoring White House credibility with the press corps, following years of hostile battles with the media under the Trump administration. She also brought back daily White House press briefings that had all but disappeared in the second half of the former administration. During the presidential campaign and the first several months of the Biden administration, Dunn took a leave of absence from the firm. While Dunn no longer owns a piece of the firm, after it was sold in 2015, her role as a top strategist to Biden, former President Barack Obama and many other elected Democratic officials has given SKDK significant prominence in Washington and beyond. One of Biden's closest advisers, Anita Dunn, will return to the West Wing as a senior adviser, as his team also shores up the White House counsel's office, given Republicans have promised to launch a slew of investigations if they retake the majority. "I just can't wait to see her shine at the podium. Psaki's departure is unsurprising, given she had been public about her plan to leave after one year on the job. So many different communities that I stand on their shoulders," Jean-Pierre said.

Crisis Communication Lessons From Jen Psaki's Successful Tenure ... (Forbes)

The White House briefings conducted by White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki provided important lessons about communicating in a crisis— or any other time.

“One of her greatest successes has been in making the role of White House Press Secretary respected again —even among media outlets that have audiences not supportive of the President's policies. Debra Caruso Marrone is a media strategist and president and owner of DJC Communications. She thought that “Jen Psaki has been good, but not necessarily, one of the great press secretaries. “One of the most important aspects of the job can only be graded by working reporters who deal with the press secretary’s office on a daily basis. She pointed out that Psaki, “took over a tenuous and adversarial relationship between the White House and the press where insults, lack of objectivity and personal agendas were the norm. She started her job with a distrusting and browbeaten audience, and needed to earn credibility while setting a new tone for how they would work and communicate together. I thank Jen for her service to the country, and wish her the very best as she moves forward.”

Joe Rogan 'Feels Bad' for Jen Psaki in White House Press Secretary ... (Newsweek)

Joe Rogan claims to pity the outgoing White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki, with him sympathetically suggesting: "F*** that job!"

Psaki took over as press secretary from Kayleigh McEnany (whom Rogan called "the GOAT") in January 2021. While Psaki didn't reference Rogan directly, she said that the disclaimer was "a positive step, but there is more that can be done." Referencing the press secretary's oft-used phrase, Rogan added: "She doesn't even 'circle back' anymore, do you notice that?... And sometimes she says things in confidence but, just like being on a f***ing podcast, sometimes you say things and you think it's true while you're saying it." He explained: "She has to go back and forth with the press. "Everybody says she's shrill in the way she communicates but whatever.
