The Eagles have 10 picks in this year's draft, including five in the first three rounds.
The Detroit Lions, Houston Texans, Green Bay Packers, New Orleans Saints, New York Giants, and New York Jets also hold multiple first-round picks. New Orleans Saints (via Philadelphia) The Jaguars and the Kansas City Chiefs each have 12 picks, tied for most in the league. Philadelphia Eagles (via New Orleans) Who’s to say that can’t happen here with the Eagles?” Adam Schefter will be a no-show in order to attend his son’s college graduation. The No. 18 pick would happen around 10:20 p.m. The Birds would’ve been just the seventh team since 1960 with three top-20 draft picks, but traded one of those to the New Orleans Saints in exchange for future picks. This year’s traveling draft road show is taking place in Las Vegas, which was scheduled to host in 2020 before COVID-19 forced the festivities into Roger Goodell’s basement. During the first round, each team has 10 minutes to make its pick. Jeff McLane thinks the team will focus on defense and trade up to the No. 11 spot to land Jordan Davis, the standout defensive tackle from Georgia. But could new head coach Doug Pederson surprise everyone by selecting North Carolina State offensive tackle Ikem Ekwonu? All we really know is Jacksonville GM Trent Baalke said last week the team was considering four players, and NBC Sports’ Peter King wrote he was told to “ expect a surprise.”

The three-day event, coming to you live from Las Vegas, will hopefully feature a good number of Badgers hearing their names called.
We will have Wisconsin Badgers-focused coverage all weekend long as players start to come off the board. 19) New Orleans Saints (from Philadelphia Eagles) 18) Philadelphia Eagles (from New Orleans Saints) 15) Philadelphia Eagles (from Miami Dolphins) 10) New York Jets (from Seattle Seahawks) Joel Klatt, Kurt Warner, Ian Rapoport and Melissa Stark will also be in the mix throughout the weekend.
In Lance Zierlein's final mock of the 2022 NFL Draft, he sees the Steelers trading up for a quarterback -- the only one picked in Round 1.
One of the hotter names on the board at linebacker, Walker is dependable, smart and athletic. Dallas could go in a variety of directions at this spot, including trading up. The Giants already grabbed a pass rusher at No. 5. Sure, the Falcons need help at receiver, but have you seen their pass rush? What a tough call for New York with Aidan Hutchinson still on the board. Philadelphia has an obvious void at one cornerback spot. Tampa, in need of a guard in the worst way, takes a talented drive blocker with guard/tackle flexibility and loads of upside -- if he can learn to play with better discipline. Gordon didn't run as fast as expected at the combine (4.52 40-yard dash), but he's a physical specimen with twitch and toughness and a good deal of improvement still to come. Elam has been a riser in the draft process, thanks to strong interviews and a solid showing at the NFL Scouting Combine. The Saints, in desperate need of a left tackle after Terron Armstead's departure in free agency, get the best one still on the board while passing on receiver (for the time being). Big win for the Panthers. In Neal, they get a Day 1 starter at left tackle upon which to build a foundation for success. I'm sure the Giants will race this card up to the podium, as they take home one of the top players at a major position of need.
Travon Walker and Aidan Hutchinson come off the board first, while quarterbacks slide to the Saints and Steelers.
Elam has an NFL pedigree as both his father (Abe) and uncle (Matt) played safety in the league. Lloyd can impact the game in a variety of ways with his ability to cover tight ends, get to the quarterback as a blitzer and defend the run. Ideally suited to play press where he can use his size, strength and physicality at the line of scrimmage, Elam has outstanding straight-line speed (4.39 40-yard dash). Dotson creates separation with his nuanced route running and quickness, has outstanding hands and is elusive in the open field even though he won’t break a lot of tackles. Ojabo is relatively new to football, but he finished last season with 11 sacks—second in the Big Ten behind Hutchinson—and his pass-rush moves are more developed than one would expect given his limited experience. Smith has tremendous power and the bully mentality to be a dominant run blocker, offers plenty of upside and could sneak into the back end of Round 1. Karlaftis lacks ideal length and bend at the top of his rush, but he wins with power. Neal started at a different position—left guard and both tackle spots—in each of his three seasons at Alabama. The former five-star recruit has size and tremendous power, but also the movement skills of a much lighter player. McDuffie has just average size and lacks length (sub-30" arms), but he’s aggressive and physical in run support and limits yards after the catch. Hamilton would give Lovie Smith a true difference maker on the back end with his unique blend of height, length, athleticism and ball production (eight career interceptions). I’m sticking with Thibodeaux here from my most recent mock, but there is some buzz that this could be Florida State’s Jermaine Johnson II (instead of Thibodeaux, if they go edge) and I’ve mocked Johnson to the Jets (albeit at 10th) much earlier in the process. All of the offseason chaos leads us into a draft that has shaped up to be one of the more unpredictable in recent memory.
The draft also serves as the last tangible NFL event we get prior to the preseason in August. For team front offices, however, it's not as fun of a time, unless ...
The good news is, there’s a plethora of talent outside of the quarterback position in this draft. With two picks in the top seven, there’s no excuse to not land two Week 1 starters with those selections as well. With five picks in the top 100, there’s ample opportunity for Schoen to land several difference-makers for years to come. Obviously, the goal of a Super Bowl is still a little ways away, as it seems like Mara and company are stressing patience this time around, which was displayed to some degree in their head coaching and GM hiring processes. The media have the privilege to travel to the NFL combine and get all sorts of soundbites from prospects, while fans get to familiarize themselves with the players they may have not paid attention to during the overlapping college football season. His first and potentially largest footprint of what this roster will become for years to come is going to be from this draft, a weight that’s heavy for a multitude of reasons.
In his third and final mock of the 2022 NFL Draft's first round, Peter Schrager has two teams -- the Eagles and Packers -- trading up to nab wide receivers.
Comped to Matt Forte, Hall is the choice. Only 21 years old and a redshirt sophomore last season, the Tulsa product is just getting started. With this selection, I will have had Tampa taking a safety in back-to-back mock drafts. Williams is the burner of this receiver group and, when healthy, would join former Alabama teammate DeVonta Smith. That's exactly what the Jets need. It feels like Walker is the guy. Now the winds have changed direction to Ickey. I think the Falcons go edge rusher no matter what. But I don't see it happening. The Chiefs wait patiently and nab Burks -- one of the more versatile wide receivers in this draft -- near the end of the first round. I think the Eagles get aggressive -- trading away Pick Nos. 18 and 51 overall to Houston in exchange for No. 13 -- to ensure they get the wide receiver they covet. The first wideout off the board, Wilson is able to contribute from Day 1 for the Jets. Many believe he is the surest thing at the position in this year's draft class.

Baalke has drafted eight defensive linemen on Day Three of the draft, including three in the seventh round. - Baalke also seems to value the safety position early. Sixth round: wide receiver (3), safety (2), center (1), linebacker (1), cornerback (1), guard (1), quarterback (1), running back (1), Fourth round: running back (3), guard (1), wide receiver (3), cornerback (2), tight end (1) defensive end (1), defensive tackle (1) Second round: quarterback (1), running back (2), defensive end (1), tight end (1), safety (1), cornerback (1), tackle (1) - Pederson likes to draft defensive lineman on Day Three of the draft. Note: Throughout this article, positions for each pick are listed below, but individual player names are not. Fourth round: wide receiver (1), running back (1), cornerback (1), defensive end (2), safety (1), guard (1) Of course, with each franchise, there are multiple people with input into a draft pick and Pederson and Baalke were likely not the only person in their respective rooms making the pick in any given year. But with that in mind, let’s examine the data and see if there are any particular positions the decision-makers have favored not just in the first round, but through all seven rounds of past drafts. By the end of Thursday night, that question will finally be answered. The 2022 NFL Draft begins tonight, Thursday April 28 at 8 p.m., and runs through Saturday, April 30.
No. 2: Aidan Hutchinson (+400). Hutchinson had been the long-time lock to be the first player chosen, but that's cooler with the realization Jacksonville is ...
We will see a lot of trades in the first round this year, but nobody is going to give up the assets it takes to get to No. 1 in a class that’s big on depth, and low in top-end talent. Someone will fall in love, but he’s probably not right for No. 1 overall, not for the Jaguars. Neal was one of the first players being regularly mocked to the Jags, but sentiment on the Alabama offensive tackle has cooled dramatically in recent months. A low-ceiling, high-floor pass rusher, Hutchinson might not become a league-defining player like Walker could, but he’ll be a 10 year starter and make some Pro Bowls in the process. Jokes aside, we do seem to have a pretty decent idea of whose name will be called first by the commissioner, even if we can only narrow that list down to 5 names. After all, Trent Baalke is running the show in Jacksonville, and it wouldn’t surprise me if he doesn’t have a clue who he’s going to take yet.

It’s not even a given which position will be selected first. Maybe the Ravens dip into those seven third- or fourth-round picks and move up from 14. Maybe a guy like Kayvon Thibodeaux or Derek Stingley Jr. is available outside the top 10. Vikings Big Board It’s hard to poke many holes in Cine’s game, and it spoke volumes throughout his college career that Georgia coach Kirby Smart always wanted him on the field, executing a key role in neutralizing the opponent. Rankings and testing data for 1,698 prospects. Scouting reports on 399 prospects. This is the first draft under new Saints coach Dennis Allen, so there's certainly a little bit of mystery as to how they might operate after Sean Payton ran the show for so many years. The Saints' top needs are wide receiver, a left tackle to replace Terron Armstead and perhaps another starting safety after Malcolm Jenkins retired. The Rams have eight picks, though those don’t begin until No. 104. Find out who goes where and other predictions for each team below. The 2022 need-based crowd is clamoring for a cornerback, which could be the pick.
Drop-offs at certain positions could lead to trades, the speedy Alabama receiver is connected to a bunch of teams and more last-minute nuggets and rumors.
• I thought this line from an AFC exec sort of summed up how the league feels about the group going into tonight: “There just aren’t a lot of needle-movers. It’s true that many of his splash plays are in chase-down situations and that he was more consistent as a pass rusher from the inside than the outside. Walker, I’ve spent a lot of time talking to coaches and scouts the last couple of days about the difference between the two. And it feels like that’s what this is about for a lot of people—can Hutchinson be special? Which is probably why Kayvon Thibodeaux—who’s turned some teams off through the process—really hasn’t been part of the conversation, particularly in a year when ownership has been prioritizing culture and alignment with his football folks. And he could be the guy some team winds up making a move up for. It’s also true, per NFL folks, that he needs to develop moves as a pass rusher if he’s going to be a dominant edge guy. But, to be sure, there’s definitely seen to be a drop-off after the first three guys at tackle, too. And this line from a coach who knows him really well stuck with me in that regard: “Watch him at 30 yards, and how his second gear kicks in.” So I did. I could see Kansas City making a jump, too, but maybe for a corner—with a receiver like Georgia’s George Pickens being in play with the first-rounder they don’t wind up moving. If you want one of them, it’d seem getting in front of the Jets at No. 10 might be the play—presuming Walker and Hutchinson are, in some order, Nos. 1 and 2. So here’s a look at where the pressure points for those spots might be …

The NFL Draft begins Thursday at 8 p.m. ET, and a Hoosier that could hear his named called is two-year captain and middle linebacker Micah McFadden, ...
"There's so many players who have made money in the league, won Super Bowls and been starters," McFadden said in an interview with the Bloomington Herald-Times. "They're not the most athletic or talented dude, but they know the game, They understand where they fit in the scheme and how to find the ball. Because of this, Zierlein projects McFadden to be drafted in the sixth or seventh round. McFadden was the heart and soul of the Indiana defense dating back to his sophomore season in 2019, as he led all Hoosiers in tackles for three consecutive seasons. McFadden ran a 4.63 40-yard dash at Indiana's Pro Day. Zierlein listed limited range outside the box, limited lateral agility and borderline speed for man coverage duties as some of McFadden's weaknesses. McFadden was selected to the third-team All-American by the Associated press as a junior. Indiana head coach Tom Allen said McFadden developed into a verbal leader for Indiana's defense as a senior and always displayed relentless intensity.
The Eagles enter the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft with two picks and a number of holes to fill.
It may become the new normal, but this is another deep receiver class with a handful of guys in the mix to go early in the first round. Consider this a dream scenario for both the Eagles and Wilson, who grew up as a diehard fan of the team. While offense is certainly represented with five different national pundits predicting the Eagles will take a wideout in the first round, there was a definite lean to the defensive side. That leaves Howie Roseman and Co. with more than a few options for how they want to utilize those picks, whether that’s by actually taking a player or by trading the picks to move up or down the draft board. They also both agree that the Eagles’ second pick in the first round could be Washington cornerback Trent McDuffie. We’ve looked at the specifics of which players the Eagles might draft with their two first-round picks. He controls five of the first 101 picks in the draft, which begins Thursday night and concludes Saturday. That includes first-round picks Nos. 15 and 18. Interestingly enough, our own Jeff McLane has the Eagles doing just that — trading up from 15 and back from 18. “I could see the Eagles going up to nine or 10 to go get Thibodeaux,” Jeremiah said Wednesday. “Stingley would be another one, I would keep an eye on those two guys as potential trade-up guys. And so you try to figure what would the Eagles need, who would they come up for? Earlier, James Palmer also mentioned that Roseman had been making calls and trying to move the Eagles up into the top 10. They have 10 picks total, including five in the first three rounds.
Teams will select new players over three days in a football pageant being held for the first time in Las Vegas.
The Jets currently have five draft picks in the first three rounds, including the fourth and 10th selections. Travon Walker, a defensive lineman from Georgia and another contender to be picked first overall, will participate remotely. The first round of the draft will be broadcast on ABC, ESPN and NFL Network and streamed across N.F.L. and ESPN mobile apps. Another, the Houston Texans (Nos. 3 and 13), may be scouting for a wide receiver. They are among the eight teams that have two picks in the first round. For the second consecutive year, the Jacksonville Jaguars have the No. 1 overall pick.
Liberty head coach Hugh Freeze admitted he has "no clue on what's really gonna happen tonight" in regard to which team selects QB Malik Willis.
The tide of these evaluations and debates will play a pivotal role in the Cowboys' moves tonight. - One route that could see the Panthers selecting a quarterback involves acquiring a Day 2 pick. The 2022 crop of quarterbacks, as well as the position at which teams are willing to bite, looms over the draft as one of the big question marks. Cornerback and wide receiver stand out as positions of need, but Palmer went as far as to identify Philadelphia's primary target: Oregon pass rusher Kayvon Thibodeaux. "He is a freak on film," Palmer said. "In the right place, he can come in and play," Freeze said. Freeze told NFL Network's Andrew Siciliano that the Carolina Panthers, Pittsburgh Steelers and Seattle Seahawks have maintained the most contact.
For weeks -- nay, months -- the talk has centered on Michigan's Aidan Hutchinson and, more recently, Georgia's Travon Walker as leading candidates to go first ...
Seven is the highest number of receivers ever to be drafted in the first round, but that could easily be matched on Thursday. Garrett Wilson (Ohio State), Drake London (USC) and Jameson Williams (Alabama) are all but locks to go in the top 15, while Chris Olave (Ohio State) and Treylon Burks (Arkansas) feel like safe bets to be taken in the top 25. That should quickly finalize the limited market for the disgruntled Browns QB, with Cleveland then able to swap Day Two or Day Three picks -- or perhaps net a conditional 2023 pick -- and confirm Watson's polarizing ownership of the remodeled QB room. Malik Willis might be the apple of the Steelers' eye at QB, but you could probably say the same for every QB-needy team, because the Liberty product is the only true high-octane signal-caller bet of this class. Detroit (No. 2) and Houston (No. 3) may well swipe him before the Jets (No. 4) get a chance. Even with Robinson back, at least for 2022, another premium investment up front -- likely in the form of Alabama's Evan Neal or NC State's Ikem Ekwonu -- would further shore up the line for the short and long term. And we don't doubt Hutchinson and Walker are -- or were -- in the conversation at No. 1.

The Panthers and head coach Matt Rhule have the sixth pick of the NFL draft. Here's who national experts say Carolina should pick in their mock drafts.
His full dispatch on the Panthers’ Thursday fate: “The Panthers are likely going to try to trade down because they don’t have any Day 2 picks. Mel Kiper Jr. of ESPN expects the Panthers to take OT Evan Neal in the No. 6 pick. NBC Sports’ Thor Nystrom writes that the Panthers will take 6-foot, 225-pound quarterback Malik Willis with the sixth pick. The Charlotte native is expected in most mock drafts to be taken as a top-three pick. Kevin Hanson of Sports Illustrated reports in his final mock draft that the Panthers should pick Evan Neal at No. 6. If they draft a rookie quarterback without shoring up the pass protection, however, there’s very little chance of that rookie succeeding to the point where he saves the jobs of the coaching staff.”

But to Jay Kornegay, the vice president of the Westgate SuperBook, one of the largest sports books in Las Vegas, the draft is likely to be a money loser. Not everyone in Las Vegas is happy that the N.F.L. draft is coming to town. The Rams are one of eight teams without a first-round pick in this year’s draft — which will be a record if all eight of those teams do not trade back into the round. Most of the Las Vegas sports books posted their odds only this week.
