Tottenham want to sign 'extraordinary' wing back compared to ... (HITC)

Tottenham Hotspur are interested in snapping up Eintracht Frankfurt star Filip Kostic during the upcoming summer transfer window.

Kostic turns 30 in November though and some Tottenham fans may have fears about paying up for a player with little resale value. Whilst often known as a winger, Kostic has played as a wing back for Frankfurt and has really attracted attention of late. Delaney suggests that Tottenham boss Antonio Conte wants a number of signings this summer with Kostic on the list.

Tottenham keen on signing Filip Kostic from Hamburg this summer (The Boot Room)

Tottenham are keeping tabs on Hamburg wing-back Filip Kostic ahead of a potential transfer this summer, according to The Independent.

The Serbian is predominantly an attacking winger, but can comfortably play as a wing-back thanks to his energy levels and willingness to get forward at will. Antonio Conte is thought to want upgrades in a number of positions after enjoying success with the January signings of Dejan Kulusevski and Rodrigo Bentancur. Writing for his weekly Reading The Game column, Delaney named Kostic as one of a number of players Tottenham are keen on signing this summer.

Tottenham Hotspur boss Antonio Conte confident of replacing Mauricio Pochettino at PSG ahead of the 2022/23 season.

Whether Conte believes he is the man to end that cycle of failure remains to be seen. Tottenham should do their part to ensure that the Italian stays put at the North London club. While Conte may have more resources at PSG, the manager’s position at the Parc des Princes has proven to be a poisoned chalice.

It is currently advantage Arsenal in what seems a two-way fight for fourth between the two big rivals. After such a free-scoring run (Spurs' goal difference is +18 compared to +12 for Arsenal), Spurs failed to register a single shot on target in the defeat to Brighton and draw with Brentford. Manager Antonio Conte must find a way to get his team firing again in the final month of the season. With five matches left of the season, Arsenal is now favorite for that final Champions League place. Other than that, the fixture that looms large is the trip to Anfield to play Liverpool on May 7. The Gunners, favorites for that crucial fourth place-finish earlier in the season, were seemingly on a downward spiral.

Christian Eriksen has revealed he remains a Tottenham fan and wants the club to qualify for the Champions League this season.

Bringing in a backup striker is a “main priority” for Antonio Conte at Tottenham this summer, according to journalist Pete O'Rourke.

He told GIVEMESPORT: “Their striker situation has been ongoing for a while now. Tottenham have improved of late, but their lack of options off the bench remain evident. Torino striker Andrea Belotti, who’s a free agent at the end of the season, has also been linked with a move to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium having scored a hatful of goals in recent years in Serie A.

If Tottenham are to win the top-four race, I think they need to win every one of their games, apart from Liverpool away. Of course, quality players shine no matter what, but Spurs will need to learn how to combat tactics designed to eliminate the threat of their goalscorers. Over the past two weeks, the wing-backs have become full-backs, basically switching Spurs to a back five.

Lo Celso is yet to contribute a goal or assist in any of his 15 appearances for the Yellow Submarines, but he has been Villarreal’s seventh-best player, according to WhoScored.

Tottenham: £54m star could soon emerge as top target at Hotspur Way (GiveMeSport)

Tottenham Hotspur head coach Antonio Conte could make Inter Milan ace Alessandro Bastoni his top defensive target ahead of the summer transfer window ...

Despite uncertainty over the 6 ft 3 ace’s immediate future, Bastoni has remained a key component of Inter’s backline and been a regular starter, with his performances emphasising why Conte is keen to seal a reunion. Bastoni, who is valued at £54million by Transfermarkt, was first linked with a switch to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium just a matter of days after the closure of the January transfer window. Conte failed to strengthen his backline in January, with Dejan Kulusevski and Rodrigo Bentancur being the only winter additions to the squad he inherited from Nuno Espirito Santo, but the Italian could look to freshen up his options ahead of next season.

But it’s worth remembering the problems Conte had in his second season at Chelsea when opponents got wise to his system and became a lot better at nullifying it (often by playing three at the back themselves). The need to refresh and evolve is a task all Premier League teams face. It’s all part of the Conte package that almost always delivers success. Everyone who plays against Tottenham and against Conte’s system, they know most of the time how they’re going to play.” “I think it’s not the problem of the system. It was striking hearing the outstanding Christian Eriksen talk after the game about how Brentford’s manager, Thomas Frank, tapped into his inside knowledge of Conte and Spurs, but that realistically most teams know what they’re going to be up against when they play Tottenham. It’s about being pragmatic and, if required, trying some things that are not sustainable in the long term but could yield decent results in the short term. But at what point do you have to acknowledge that a degree of flexibility is required? Tottenham fans’ frustrations are understandable, especially as they have gone from being three points ahead of Arsenal to being two behind in the space of a week. In all four of those games, most felt Conte needed to tweak the system or make some sort of change at half-time. Many times at Spurs it has served him and the team extremely well. Conte’s habit of making late subs and very rarely rotating his team illustrates how little faith he has in his fringe players. A huge job like PSG may be appealing to the Italian, but it’s hard to imagine that he’s offering himself to other clubs with Tottenham’s Champions League fate on the line. That will seemingly spark the end of the line for Pochettino even with that title win under his belt.

First of all, the framing — that Conte has “offered himself” to PSG — is deeply weird and hilarious. But if there IS any truth to any of this, be prepared for an even more chaotic summer than last year. You can choose to believe what Gold is saying or not, but that’s the line coming out of the Tottenham camp. Conte certainly hasn’t made it easy on himself, both going out of his way — personally and through intermediaries — to say that he’s committed to the project while also giving plenty of veiled hints that he’d gladly bail if the club’s ambitions don’t match his own, or if a better job opens up. Yes! It’s kind of hard to compete with a club that has more money than sense, is desperate for trophies, and also currently employs Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe. If accurate, this would be a continuation of the will-he-or-won’t-he stories that have dogged Conte while at Tottenham Hotspur since...
