The tension on the Ridge reaches a boiling point as Outlander heads towards its Season 6 finale.
Jamie tells her that her decision to stay in the past and reunite with Jamie has brought joy to their children and grandchildren. Claire is surprised that Lizzie didn’t initially come to her to tell her about her pregnancy. Lizzie says that she did attempt to talk to her the day Malva died, but the door to the surgery was locked. Jamie has learned a lot from Claire about the future, but the 18th Century man he’s buried for a while comes back in full force with his reaction. Lizzie couldn’t decide which brother to court so she decided to sleep with both of them starting from when she fell ill with malaria earlier in the season. Lizzie’s revelation may very well shock fans who didn’t read the novel but the script has managed to convey Lizzie’s genuine feelings towards Josiah and Keziah very well. It’s up to the Fraser family to work together to support Claire and Jamie as they remain the target of nasty rumors and speculation. Lizzie finally reveals first to Ian, and then to Claire, that the brothers have gone missing because they are scared they’re going to get in trouble. One of the hallucinations even had flashbacks to Dougal, Geillis, and Frank taunting her. By the end of the episode, he realizes becoming a minister is indeed his calling. Jamie tells him that Roger’s killing of the man in Brownsville was not murder and he should not feel like he sinned. Roger agrees to officiate Malva’s funeral but he’s also feeling doubts about whether he is the right person to do it.
Malva (Jessica Reynolds) is dead, you'll remember, having had her throat slit and her body dumped in a field outside Claire (Caitriona Balfe) and Jamie's (Sam ...
Of course, the whole thing being on the hush means that Lizzie manages to take Josiah to Roger’s house, explain her pregnancy predicament, and get him to handfast herself and Josiah too. Jamie makes the brothers draw straws and the one who pulls the short straw has to marry Lizzie on the spot. She finally comes clean to Jamie about the fact that she’s been using ether to escape the voices and visions she has of Lionel Brown, hallucinations of whom have become so frequent that he barely seems to leave her. Elsewhere on the Ridge, Roger (Richard Rankin) has decided that it’s unlikely that any priest will be joining the community anytime soon so he thinks he’d like to take on the job permanently himself. So does the rest of the community, of course, who already saw Claire as tainted due to Jamie supposedly impregnating Malva and then refusing to marry her in the first place. In the present, Tom Christie (Mark Lewis Jones) and Allan (Alexander Vlahos) arrive at Fraser’s Ridge after learning what’s become of Malva. Both men seem to think it’s pretty fishy that Claire didn’t see anyone or anything from inside the house, but then they don’t know she was knocked out cold thanks to her ether.

“Boy, they’re going to be something in the top of that new season which we’re already working on right now. So to keep the next Droughtlander to a minimum, filming for season 7 is already underway. Outlander Season 6 is currently airing on Starz. But that doesn’t mean the cast and crew is on a break. But the upside is that season 7 will be extra-long and feature a total of 16 episodes. And then we’re going to give you a supersized season 7, which will present its own challenges.” As fans know, the pandemic delayed production of Outlander Season 6 for almost an entire year.
Next week on Starz, it is officially here: Outlander season 6 episode 8, the emotional and all-important finale.
We do think the writers are going to move on; a big reason why this storyline was placed at the end of season 6 was to give us something big to tie things together for the time being. We know that Jamie and Claire can work in part to stop that, but so could some other external factors: The onset of the Revolutionary War, for example, could lead others to focus on a crisis coming right to their doorstep. They are letting revenge-driven people like the Browns and the Christies control the narrative to the point where Jamie and Claire have to take drastic measures in order to ensure her safety.

In a statement to Gold Derby, Matthew B. Roberts, “Outlander’s” executive producer and showrunner, confirmed he’s “not surprised” men are drawn to the show, even if they stan from the sidelines. “It’s a show for everyone and anybody can find something about it that they can relate to. I wish we had more men in the group,” he told me via Facebook. Although Starz declines to share “Outlander’s” viewer demographics, an assistant to Diana Gabaldon, the author of the wildly popular “Outlander” series of books, puts the figure of men who watched the show’s 2014 premiere at “about 40 percent.” If the female members of the numerous “Outlander” Facebook fan groups are any indication, many watch the show with their husbands or boyfriends.

Balfe's co-star also seems to be thinking about when the show will end. Starz has confirmed that Season 7 will have 12 episodes, and is expected in 2023. Asked about spin-off by Deadline, Starz SEO Jeffrey Hisch said: "There's a lot of opportunity in the Outlander universe to have story extensions, spin-offs or sequels. After that, however, the show could be coming to an end. If this tells you anything, more power to you...And yes, the last book will have a happy ending." However, she hasn't completely closed the door on the show.

Along with Lizzie, Josiah and Keziah also wish for a life that binds the three of them together. Since doesn’t want to lead a life without Josiah, she asks Roger to handfast her to the other Beardsley without revealing her engagement with Keziah. She loves both of them equally and finds it impossible to separate one from the other. With no other choice in front of him, he reveals the secret to his uncle, who confronts Lizzie about the same. Realizing that she knows their whereabouts, Ian asks her to talk, only for her to reveal that they are hiding.
There are so many mysteries all around Fraser's Ridge. A recap of season 6, episode 7 of 'Outlander' on Starz, 'Sticks and Stones.
It all leads to an absolutely knockout scene between Claire and Jamie, one that — not to make this all about twins but — feels like the twin to that emotional scene between the two of them in the stable, where Claire was yelling about how everything she’s done has been because of her love for Jamie. Here, she has turned that into an indictment against herself. Bree is the one who connects that to the weird love spell they found in the woods. And, he adds, that if she is guilty of being selfish because she wanted them to be together, then he’s guilty of the same. One of them was about to bury their still alive mother-in-law, who, by the way, used her last few breaths on this earth to basically call him a piece of shit, and the other one was caught having sex with Malva in the church! When she talks about how she’s had to compartmentalize everything in her life just to survive and how they’ve now all come spilling out together — she doesn’t have to say it, but we, and Jamie, know the cause of this spill was what she suffered at the hands of Lionel Brown and his men — it’s devastating. She seems genuinely shocked that Claire and Jamie think that her relationship with the Beardsleys won’t go over well with the people on the Ridge and demand she gets married to one of them. Like, why these people can’t see that you could be married to just one of them for the sake of your public life but do whatever you want at home with your “one soul in two bodies” (honestly, isn’t that kind of insulting to Josiah and Kezzie??) remains a mystery. They have enough to deal with, Lizzie!! Claire is being accused of killing a pregnant girl and is being haunted by the man that assaulted her, and now she has to listen to your story about how the Beardsley twins rubbed you down with ointment when you had malaria and oopsie-daisy you had sex with both of them and now you’re pregnant and don’t know which one is the father? The ranks of settlers who believe Claire murdered Malva in a jealous rage for sleeping with Jamie (another lie they still cling to) grow quickly and more vocal by the hour. Jamie makes the Beardsley draw straws to decide who will be the one to marry Lizzie since they can’t make their minds up themselves, and he handfasts her and Kezzie. Later, the three of them will sneak off to Roger’s and have him handfast Lizzie with Josiah, just to cover their bases. Could you love Claire any more than when she took in Lizzie’s retelling of how her affair with the Beardsleys started, including that moment when a very hot and horny Lizzie explained that Josiah and Kezzie are “identical everywhere,” and she’s just like “well, I’m glad you’re enjoying yourself,” but also not everyone is going to be cool with this? When it rains, it pours on Fraser’s Ridge, and by that, I mean just as Claire and Jamie are dealing with Malva’s grisly murder, of which Claire is Suspect No. 1, Lizzie and the Beardsleys have to show up and unload all their throuple business on the lady and gentleman of the big house.
Collective church mice Lizzie Wemyss and Jo and Kezzie Beardsley let their freak flags fly in a big way in Sunday's Outlander, admitting to Jamie and Claire ...
As she sobs, he reminds her that after Wentworth, “you found me in the dark.” He asks her to let him in, by way of not resorting to the oblivion of ether, so he can do the same for her. So Jamie handfasts them right then and there, telling Jo to leave the Ridge the next day and not come back until the child is born. oops. Now Lizzie is pregnant, and she’s not sorry — though Jamie knows he’s got to handle this situation before everyone on the Ridge finds out and feeds it through the gossip mill. Claire starts to cry as she admits what she’s been seeing and hearing, and she tells him that her ability to compartmentalize her feelings is collapsing in grand fashion. She suddenly feels responsible for everything — including Bree’s rape and Roger’s stint as a slave — because none of it would have happened if she hadn’t been “selfish” and gone back in time to be with Jamie again. “No time to pray for forgiveness then,” he grunts, then decides that Malva and her infant son will be buried in the woods rather than sully the consecrated grounds of the graveyard with their sinful corpses.
Things are not looking good for Claire Fraser in "Outlander" Season 6, Episode 7, following the shocking death of Malva Christie.
Not only that, Claire decides to come clean to Jamie about her mental health struggles and her visions of Lionel Brown, constantly taunting her. "Without you, the whole world crumbles to dust," he confesses. Audiences know she was alluding to Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan) as the baby's father, but we also know that is not true, not even in the slightest. In fact, Jamie fears so much for Lizzie's reputation being ruined and what people on the ridge would say about her, he forces the Beardsley brothers to pick a straw. But, after an enlightening conversation and female pleasure, Lizzie knows she has to decide which Beardsley to marry, otherwise, her reputation would be tarnished. In his eyes, and presumably God's...there is no place for "sinners" in a church graveyard.
Tom (Mark Lewis Jones) and Allan (Alexander Vlahos) are beside themselves. Jamie (Sam Heughan) steps in when they claim they can't bury Malva in a holy cemetery ...
She's thankful he is willing to tackle the demons and darkness. Roger has a wife and son, and one on the way. Unfortunately, it seems everyone in the region thinks Claire killed Malva Christie. And I'm not sure an ether nap is going to help her escape this nightmare. Then he swears that no one speaks a word to anyone before instructing Josiah to the Ridge the next day and to not return until after the baby is born. And he would be thrilled if Roger stayed on the Ridge to help Brianna and Claire and the elderly. And when it's time to lift the coffin, there aren't enough men to carry her to the graveyard. Ian takes up the last corner, and they begin to descend the steps outside. He and Claire will see to it, and Roger will perform the funeral ceremony. The one little problem is the fact that Lizzie is pregnant, and she has no idea if it's Kezzie or Josiah's baby. Ian is the one to discover the secret, and he immediately tells his uncle. Jamie is convinced Claire's mind is playing tricks on her and encourages her to get some rest. It's as if she left the stove on (or a candle burning in this timeline) and forgot to turn it off.
Spoiler Alert. Starz. [Warning: The below contains MAJOR spoilers for Season 6, Episode 7 of Outlander, “Sticks and Stones.”] Outlander ...
Quite literally, Lizzie would be a concubine somewhere back in Scotland. And the twins, God knows what would happen to the twins?” “Being ill and needing ointments and needing it rubbed all over seems like the perfect catalyst for her to take a step in the next direction,” O’Ryan adds of Lizzie’s motivation. it’s just so natural.” It’s a nice juxtaposition to the horrors the Frasers are facing after Malva’s ( Jessica Reynolds) death. Gorman, who has the task of playing both twins who are in love with Lizzie was also eager to tackle the storyline saying, “it was just so exciting to play a dual role… And the thought of having the opportunity to play something so surprised was quite tantalizing.” The only reason the revelation came to light is because Lizzie told Ian ( John Bell) that she’s pregnant and unsure which twin is the father.
After taking a week off for Easter, Outlander returned and picked up off the back of Malva's murder. Here's a look at Outlander Season 6, Episode 7.
And that is a good point, but we know what busybodies are like, especially in the 18th century! It’s clear each time we see her during the episode that she’s hiding something, but it takes time to get it all out. We have to start with a storyline that came up throughout the episode, one that we’ve had a tease of for a while. What she does know is that it’s one of two people…one of the twins, in fact. We have to remember that there were originally 12 episodes to the season and it was shortened to eight due to the pandemic and Caitriona Balfe’s pregnancy. The other four episodes had been written and episode eight had to be reworked to a finale, so we’re not expecting everything to wrap up.
Two weeks after a gripping cliffhanger that left Claire reeling, Outlander is back. But will she be able to work past her demons?
The good news is that the cast and crew have been busy filming Season 7 so hopefully the hiatus won’t be as long. They didn’t oversell it, and honestly I think it might be one of the strongest seasons yet. I was just ranting and raving about the end of the Droughtlander, and now we are at the cusp of yet another one. Throughout the episode, the residents of Fraser’s Ridge can’t help but cast a suspicious eye at Claire. Everyone is convinced she had something to do with Malva’s murder, and while I can absolutely see why, their behavior is brutal. At first, I thought it might be war-related, but instead it’s the cavalry showing up to arrest Claire for Malva’s murder. In order to clear Claire’s name, the murder must be solved, and so it’s all hands on deck. I was relieved to see her finally lean on Jamie and open up about everything that has happened, including the fact that she is hallucinating visions of Lionel Brown (Ned Dennehy). This week’s episode was uber-creepy, with Brown showing up at unexpected moments. It’s a moment of intense reflection for her and she’s almost certain thats all this is happening because of her selfish behavior. I felt like we really got to understand what Claire is experiencing, and I did not like it. Sigh, I love these Jamie and Claire moments, and we haven’t had one like this for a very long time. Given his daughter was pregnant out of wedlock (he still thinks it’s Jamie’s, by the way), Tom has deemed her a whore and believes that she cannot be buried in holy ground. Well, it’s not so much a confession as it is blatant lying about Jamie being the father of her child.
Outlander's penultimate Season 6 episode is setting up plenty of drama ahead of the finale as Claire (Caitriona Balfe) and Jamie (Sam Heughan) face unexpected ...
Jamie tries reminding Claire that none of the happiness they have would exist if she didn’t. Jamie tells Claire he’ll help her through it but she just needs to let him in. Roger wants to believe that the baby is and uses this chat as an opportunity to discuss him becoming a minister. While they carry the body out, Claire goes to the baby’s coffin and tries carrying it out, but Allan stops in his tracks, dropping Malva’s coffin and yanks the baby from Claire. He gets angry and says the woman who is responsible for their deaths shouldn’t touch it. Meanwhile, Claire continues to unravel by hearing Lionel’s voice and feeling guilt over Malva, she turns to ether and has a terrible nightmare mixed with memories of the past and present. She explains that when she was ill with malaria, the Beardsleys helped with the ointment Claire sent and one thing led to another and all three of them ended up under the quilts together. Jamie tells Roger he doesn’t see that as weak and neither should Bree as that’s Roger’s main concern and reason for talking to Jamie about it. As preparations for the funeral continue, Allan makes coffins for his sister and her baby, and Tom gives the Lizzie and the Beadsleys a black gown for his daughter. Meanwhile, most of the Frasers convene in the main house to discuss matters but Claire has turned in for the night. Eyeing the ether in the corner of the room, Claire rushes out to try and avoid her metaphorical security blanket by swapping it out for a dram of whiskey. Later on, Lizzie is seen feeding the horses and as she apologizes to the animals for lying earlier, Ian walks in and asks her where the Beardsley twins (both played by Paul Gorman) are. When Lizzie ( Caitlin O’Ryan) walks in to inform Jamie that Mr. Henderson (Euan Bennet) is looking for Ian ( John Bell), Bree can’t help but wonder if Lizzie is okay as she has some grass strands in her hair. She asks the people for their mercy and hopes they’ll show her and her child kindness despite knowing her baby is considered a bastard.

Sam Heughan told Newsweek the Outlander season finale is "really dark and exciting" and hopefully in between it all, fans will find out who killed Malva ...
Unable to decide, straws were drawn and Keziah picked the shortest, meaning he would marry Lizzie as soon as a priest became available. After all, it does appear Claire would have a motive after rumors began to spread that Jamie (Sam Heughan) was the father. Claire did not know and audiences were teased with a quick glimpse at his silhouette. This would be particularly interesting, considering Claire had crossed paths with him before. Lizzie, Josiah and Keziah seem to have a pretty good setup going and appear genuinely happy. Now, with just one episode left, there are a few things that we need answers to in the finale.
Lizzie certainly knows how to make things go from bad to worse, bless her. She's pregnant in Outlander, but who's the father?
She wants to live with both of them, but that would be a scandal at the Ridge. It also doesn’t help that Lizzie isn’t willing to choose one twin to marry over the other. They all love each other, and Lizzie shares that she doesn’t know which of the two fathered her child.
