Milwaukee vs. Chicago Game Three: Winning Cures All (Brew Hoop)

No Khris Middleton, no problem for Friday night's Milwaukee Bucks, as they absolutely dismantled the Chicago Bulls on the defensive end of the court, ...

Finally, he erupted in game three looking confident from tip, with a few triples landing early and then driving for finishes and kicking out the perimeter. - DeMar DeRozan was attacking Grayson Allen anytime he got him in the halfcourt offensively. With just three points total through two games, Milwaukee was waiting for their shooting guard addition this offseason to show some of the scoring punch he had all season. They didn’t relent all evening, throwing off Chicago’s rhythm by getting DeRozan off-kilter, preventing as many driving lanes and holding the Bulls to poor shooting at the rim and only eight free throw attempts through the competitive portion of the game. It was fairly successful, holding him to just eight shots in the first half as the Bulls shot 36.8% overall through two quarters. They maintained that same defensive presence and kept up their shooting in the second quarter as they built a solid 60-41 advantage by half.

Bulls routed by Bucks in Game 3 (Bulls.com)

The Bulls wanted to make sure they got the attention of the defending champion Milwaukee Bucks. It may not have been a great idea.

His sources are not known to the Bulls and he has no special access to information beyond the access and privileges that go along with being an NBA accredited member of the media. DeRozan dismissed the margin of defeat in deference to the result, the loss is a loss thing. We didn't come out and compete the way we should've, and that's a lesson on us. Perhaps not to the many who were streaming out of the arena early in the fourth quarter. "As a competitor, you have to take on the challenge of trying to tie this thing up," said DeRozan. "That's what we have to do come Sunday, meet that challenge. "When Lopez is down there and Giannis, it hard to finish over them," said Donovan. "You have to make the extra pass and take some open threes. "There's a huge mental component to this in the playoffs," reminded Donovan. "When you go from (games) one to two to three to four, there are a lot of things happen and for a lot of our guys this is new and as much as you talk about the fact you split in Milwaukee and everybody feels good, I knew and felt you don't win an NBA championship with the inability to respond. Donovan and DeRozan talked about making the right play and the difficult shots DeRozan made despite the Bucks defense in Game 2, but this was different. But by the time I kind of got a feel for it, they got it rolling offensively. Except for Patrick Williams, who finally lit the scoreboard with a point in the fourth, his only one of the game. The Bucks just were so much better and superior that you'd think they were attempting to win a second consecutive NBA championship. Just for the record, it was 60-41 Bucks at halftime when the Bucks closed the half sloppily, and then 73-44 four minutes into the third quarter.

It’s about being solid, knowing your role, being a star in your role and doing what you do to help the team win. Or if my shots falling, space the floor and knock it down and give driving lanes for the stars on our team. The Bucks have to win two more to advance to the next round. Picking up a loose ball foul on the hunt to win a 50-50 chance. "You might not play in some series, you might play some minutes, you might play a lot of minutes, but it just takes that one moment. He wasn’t just an active help defender on DeMar DeRozan, helping the Bucks build their own version of a wall with Giannis Antetokounmpo and Brook Lopez to keep Bulls star DeMar DeRozan for going off offensively.
