Because of this, Steph admitted he doesn't know what the right answer is; however, he is just looking to make his minutes impactful wherever they come. Curry added that Jordan Poole has been fantastic in the starting lineup, and that each one of Klay Thompson, Andrew Wiggins, Draymond Green, and Kevon Looney also provide attributes the Warriors need in that first group. Hopefully I've demonstrated that at the end of the day it really doesn't matter.
The Denver Nuggets persevered throughout the regular season, overcoming long-term injuries to two of their top three players to win 48 games.
"We've got to figure it out, because getting swept again, not a good look for nobody, and it's embarrassing," Monte Morris said. Amid the frustration of Monday's 20-point loss, DeMarcus Cousins and Will Barton got into a heated discussion heading into a timeout. The "death lineup," as Golden State's lineup of Curry, Poole and Thompson has been dubbed, works because all three can create their own shots. Steph Curry, Klay Thompson and Jordan Poole combined for 84 of the Warriors 126 points in Game 2. It is great to be playing in front of our own fans." The Warriors won the first two games in convincing fashion but the Nuggets hope that coming home will make a difference.

Another striking stat from Game 6: Andrew Bogut scored 14 points and collected 21 rebounds. The Warriors split the first two games in Denver in 2013, as Curry noted, losing on Miller’s layup with 1.2 seconds left and winning behind 30 points from Curry and 26 from Jarrett Jack. Then the Warriors won twice in Oakland, lost Game 5 in Denver and closed out the series at home in Game 6. “Obviously, a lot has changed since then, but it definitely brings back good memories of being on this stage for the first time and playing well,” Curry said after Thursday’s shootaround at Ball Arena. “I remember losing Game 1 on that Andre Miller, last-second layup, and then we responded in Game 2 and obviously the rest of that series.

DENVER – Stephen Curry's only goal when he went down with a foot injury last month was to be ready in time for Game 1 of the playoffs.
“[I] switched up a couple of things in my pregame routine so I’m not all juiced up on adrenaline and then go sit down for five minutes and then have to rev the engines back up,” Curry said. Curry changed some of his pregame activations to try to delay the adrenaline rush. Entering the game as the sixth man required a different approach mentally, Curry said. He didn’t take a shot until the second quarter and finished with 16 points on a shoddy 5-of-13 shooting (or 38.5%) in about 22 minutes. As a result, he will have his minutes increased in Game 3 Thursday in Denver. After returning from knee injuries twice before during the playoffs, Curry understood it might take some time to find his rhythm.
Draymond Green's steal on Nikola Jokic in the game's final minute helped seal a 118-113 Warriors win in Game 3 on Thursday night in Denver.

Steph Curry and Jordan Poole came through down the stretch as the Warriors took a commanding 3-0 lead over the Nuggets.
Poole gave all Warriors fans a scare when he had to exit for a period of time and was stuck to the bench with a heating pad on his left elbow. Kerr and Curry made it clear ahead of Game 3 that the Warriors weren't looking past the Nuggets and first had to take care of business Thursday night. The Warriors then made six of their first seven 3-pointers in second quarter before opening the third and going completely cold. Payton accepted the challenge and Denver paid the price. Gary Payton II made an immediate impact off the bench, draining a 3-pointer and finishing a fastbreak layup on back-to-back possessions upon entering. The Warriors are going to let it fly from the 3-point line.

The Warriors closed out the Nuggets in Game 3 with clutch buckets and lockdown defense.

It's unlikely that Denver will come back from a 3-0 hole against Golden State (no NBA team ever has), but with a healthy Jamal Murray and Michael Porter Jr. potentially returning, they're going to be a legitimate Western Conference contender next season. Draymond knew the play. The Warriors had relative success on Jokic in the first two games, holding him to 47 percent shooting, which is well under his season average. DUBS WIN— Golden State Warriors (@warriors) pic.twitter.com/g5sf3Obg2v April 22, 2022 Jokic got the better of him on many plays on Thursday, but when it came down to crunch time, Green -- who had five fouls at the time -- picked Jokic's pocket on a pivotal possession that essentially clinched the game for Golden State. The Warriors are going to be very hard to beat on nights like this. Green also had 10 assists, orchestrating the offense and finding open looks for his teammates throughout the night, as he's done for his entire career. The Golden State Warriors are just one win away from advancing to the Western Conference semifinals. Curry did a great job getting to the rim on Thursday as well, going 6-for-8 from two-point range in 30 minutes. "We need him to go where we want to go, and we need him to keep doing what he's doing." As if dealing with Curry and Thompson wasn't difficult enough, the Warriors have added a bona fide third Splash Brother in Poole, who has scored 30, 29 and 27 points, respectively, in the first three playoff games of his career. Nikola Jokic was simply breathtaking for the Nuggets, putting up 37 points, 18 rebounds and five assists on 14-for-22 shooting, but it just wasn't enough.

With his breakout performance, Poole has become just the second Warrior to score at least 25 points in his first three playoff games. Curry's been spectacular, averaging nearly 26 points in those 25 minutes per game, but Green is right that the majority of the time, Poole has been Golden State's primary playmaker. "We need him to go where we want to go, and we need him to keep doing what he's doing." "You're talking a guy who was on the third team All-G League last year, has been our No. 1 option in this playoffs," Green said after the Game 3 win. Poole isn't just scoring -- his efficiency is off the charts. That's pretty incredible, considering Poole shares the court with Curry and Thompson, arguably the two greatest shooters of all time.

"And it's got to be a ball that we come up with in that type of game." Kerr called it the "shot of the game." Up until that point in the fourth, Kerr kept Andre Iguodala in the game because he had made "several good plays in a row." There is no better feeling in sports than going into a hostile environment, their crowd into it -- yelling, screaming -- and ultimately you come out with the win." Draymond Green picked a pocket in broad daylight Thursday night. He broke down the play after the game.
“He took the second one and it was far away from his body. Just one more foul away from being disqualified from the game, however, Green was not deterred to be aggressive. “I was more worried when I picked up my fourth. “I just went for it and I was able to get my hand on it.” For Green, deciding to go for the steal against Jokic came as a risky one. After the wire-to-wire victory, Green broke down the play.
The Warriors' Game 3 win in Denver proved they truly are back, thanks to a plethora of contributors.
The Warriors gave their home fans plenty to cheer about in Game 1 and Game 2. There's a long list of countless parts to basketball that he missed on a daily basis while rehabbing two different leg injuries that had him away from the game for more than two years. "So much," he said when asked how much he missed playoff games on the road. I enjoy the boos, I enjoy everything that comes with it. Green had Kerr at a loss for words as he so often does, trying to find a comparison for the once-in-a-generation basketball genius. He was a plus-11 in 14 huge minutes off the bench. That includes on the road, and he wasn't alone. He returned with 8.3 seconds left in the third quarter and the Warriors down 89-85. His 3-pointer with three minutes left in the game gave the Warriors a 112-111 lead, one possession after missing the same exact shot. He joins Wilt Chamberlain as the only two Warriors to accomplish that feat. But then in the third quarter, he was forced to miss a crucial chunk of time after hurting his elbow and was forced to the bench with a heating pad wrapped around his left arm. He scored eight points in each of the first two quarters, putting him at 16 going into halftime.
Winning playoff games on the road is tough in the NBA, but the Warriors have made a habit of it over the past decade.
The identity of being able to do it at home and on the road, in that many series in a row is pretty crazy to think about. "Being able to extend that trust and chemistry to every guy on the floor, it's a fun way to play," Curry said. "Every series we’ve found a way to just withstand runs and hostile environments, and there’s high level of trust in how we do it."
Led by Stephen Curry and the emerging Jordan Poole, Golden State put on a throwback performance in its Game 3 victory vs. the Nuggets.
But hear Green explain the play, and you realize you’re in the midst of a basketball genius. “Then he took the second one, and it was far away from his body. His skill on that end was on full display in the final minute. Poole’s postseason emergence is a satisfying subplot as Golden State cruises through the first round. You could argue he was the best player on the floor for significant stretches. A challenging Golden State attack is downright terrifying when Poole is lighting up the scoreboard. Draymond Green continues to power Golden State on both ends, controlling the contest for significant stretches in each of the first three games. Yet neither future Hall-of-Famer was the best Warriors guard for the third game in a row. The Splash Brothers have become the Splash Triplets over the last week, with Golden State now sporting a trio of guards that can light up the scoreboard on a given night. The Warriors secured a 3–0 lead in its round one matchup against the Nuggets on Thursday night, potentially sealing the series with a 118-113 victory. There is one major difference for Golden State as the franchise chases another championship. We should take a minute to appreciate what we’re seeing as the Warriors return to championship contender status.
Jordan Poole and the Warriors' Game 3 win over the Nuggets effectively ended the team's first-round picks.
“Some guys that you think are *guys* are not guys in the playoffs,” Green said. There will not be a quiet exit from the postseason for Golden State. No sir, to kill off these Dubs, an opponent will need an incredible level of precision and endurance. “You go into an opposing team’s building and you can shut that crowd up — there’s no better feeling in sports,” Green said. We’ve run out of superlatives for his performance over the first three contests. Denver led by two points, 111-109 with 3:20 to play in the fourth. That’s character. This was a pass/fail test, and a great team — a true championship contender — would care of business on Thursday. The Dubs dug deep on Thursday night. That’s gumption. They did. It’s just the first round, and it’s a favorable matchup in the Nuggets, no doubt, but these Warriors have shifted gears in the playoffs. My argument was simply that the Warriors had lost the benefit of the doubt and that they would need to reestablish their bonafides in the weeks to come.
With respect earned and confidence built up during first playoff run, Jordan Poole's receiving a new level of praise from his teammates.
Several veterans have said Poole has been asking about the playoffs and what to expect on the big stage since his first training camp. But the postseason atmosphere has lived up to the hype. Poole will command a hefty pay raise this offseason, but the Warriors see him being a key part of the team’s future success. “He looks like a seasoned vet,” Thompson said after the Warriors beat the Nuggets to take a 3-0 lead in the first-round series. Through three games, Poole, who’s starting in place of Curry as the All-Star works his way back from a foot injury, has scored a combined 86 points while shooting an impressive 66.7% from the field and 59.1% from deep. Being able to have Steph, Klay, Draymond and Andre, guys that have been here before, they know how important it is to come down the stretch and just being able to give these guys confidence.
Stephen Curry's bucket capped a late game-turning 7-0 run for the Warriors, who beat the Nuggets 118-113 in Game 3 of their first-round series Thursday.

This is the fourth time the Warriors have made 12 3-pointers in a playoff half. Draymond Green was 1-of-2, Andrew Wiggins was 1-of-1, Klay Thompson was 2-of-4 and Steph Curry was 2-of-5 shooting from 3-point range. As a team, the Warriors were 12-of-21 shooting from behind the 3-point line across the game’s first two quarters.

Curry ended Thursday's 118-113 victory over Denver with 27 points (9-17 FG, 3-9 3Pt, 6-8 FT), three rebounds and six assists over 31 minutes.
"It's always difficult to win Game 3," said the Golden State Warriors' Draymond Green after last night's 118-113 win over the Denver Nuggets.
Denver missed on a drive to the rim, Draymond got the rebound and fired a long outlet pass to Steph, who took it to the rim, stopped, pumped, shot, made it, and got the foul. "Can you find a way to just make enough plays and win the game? "I'm proud of the way everybody played and competed. The Nuggets got a steal from the Warriors with about a minute left, but missed the shot. The Warriors held a small lead through much of the final quarter, but never pulled away — there were something like 11 ties on the night. "They're outplaying the group that beat them up in Games 1 and 2." "It's always difficult to win Game 3," said the Golden State Warriors' Draymond Green after last night's 118-113 win over the Denver Nuggets. "When a team is down 2-0, they come out and they give you everything they got in that Game 3. After Wiggins hit a three, the score was 60-49 Warriors, with 4:30 left in the half. It's happening again," said Azubuike of the Nuggets' second-quarter performances through the series. The Warriors shot 60% in the first quarter, the Nuggets 55%. Golden State was up 34-32 after the first quarter. Former Warrior DeMarcus Cousins was lethal off the bench, and made his way to the rim with ease in the first half of the second quarter. The high-scoring grind continued into the second quarter, with the teams trading baskets, and neither able to pull away.
